I'll Never Go Back to Aruba

I don't pretend to be an Aruba expert after spending a total of 2 days there but I did spend a LONG time researching the place trying to find interesting things to do other than beaches. My conclusion: this is a very nice island but not a super interesting one. I prefer Guadeloupe, St. Lucia, Barbados, Grenada, Trinidad and many other islands that aren't so flat. Perhaps I'm wrong?

This is the type of tourist that needs to stay home. Aruba has the highest repeat visitor rate in the Caribbean

Good, since you’ve been there twice, don’t go back. You like to complain. Staying for a few hours each time while on a cruise is not the same as staying to enjoy and learn about the people and the culture.

Listen, you cannot come with a cruise-ship and spend only a couple of hours on the island and say that you don’t like it because you have not spend enough time on the island to make a conclusion. You say it looks similar to Florida that is a huge misconception Florida is NOTHING like Aruba. And if you find it boring don’t come back. And you have not been there the best time because in January its carnival season on the island

I spent more than a "couple of hours" but as I admitted in the video and above, not a long time. However, I did spend a long time researching places to visit on the island, and, aside from the beaches, I didn't find any of them too compelling. Why don't you tell me what must-see places I should have visited? As per the Florida comparison, I live in Florida and, before visiting Aruba, visited a host of other islands where you sit on the beach and see these glorious hills and mountains and everything is lush and green and it doesn't look a bit like Florida. But yes, sit in a beach in Aruba and everything is flat AF, just like in Florida, no real landscape to see. But I love Florida---that's why I live here-- so I don't see it as a terrible comparison. If I didn't live in Florida, I'd probably love Aruba because the white sand beaches and warm weather would be a novelty.

If you have nothing nice to say don't say anything. Maybe you should have done some research. I have been going to Aruba for over 25 years straight and I absolutely love it. Stay away from our home away from home. I have never seen anything like this about Aruba before

I might be in the minority here, but I’m glad you posted this video. I’m trying to make up my mind between Aruba and Curaçao, and coming off the heels of Antigua, I was a little nervous about it being south Florida.

I am a little concerned that you say you spent a "LONG time researching the place" but you didn't research the things that make the visit and travels less stressful. Little things, such as...when does the restaurant I want to eat at open, or having cash available when you get off the cruise ship. I can't take the input seriously with such conflicting information. Spend a week. Relax. Refresh. It is better than any other island I have been to. But each person has their own home.

You appear to be an angry person and with that Aruba definitely isn't for you. Aruba is for people who want to relax, have fun enjoy the great weather, beaches, snorkeling, water sports, restaurants and night life. My wife and I love Aruba along with millions of other people who frequently travel there. The island is one of the safest in the Caribbean and the people are very friendly and helpful.

You must have had a bad night and gotten of the cruiseship with a negative vibe (which shows). How can you be credible to anyone watching your video while being on the island not even for a full day? Your video shows that you have seen the cruiseship port and surroundings, then headed to eagle beach, "That's All" Furthermore you mentioned several characteristics of the Island that, the best way I can say are fantasized. You have not seen the island! You cannot judge a destination by being there only for a few hours. Even if you have done it twice. You are not credible!

Hahah! Okay, okay, I'm a complete fraud. Lol. Last year, I spent an entire day touring around the whole darn island with a guide. It's not a horrible place. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm saying, it's not for me and I prefer many other Caribbean islands, including Guadeloupe, Grenada, Trinidad, Barbados, St. Lucia and others because they're green and lush and mountainous and Aruba is flat AF, and, as far as I'm concerned, not that interesting. Everyone's different. I am not required to love Aruba.

The video could've been titled: "Clueless American cruise tourist bungles Aruba outing with weak Kurtwood Smith impersonation". Obviously if you wander on foot from the touristy cruise terminal early, you'll find not much but touristy junk not open. Do it right with some money next time. Your video is like a frat boy wandering into a world-class museum and complaining about the decor in the bathroom, or why aren't there better gift-shop selections or better free Wifi...

Hahah. I'm enjoying all these attacks I must say! Still waiting to hear one person say, "you should have seen x, y, and z." Been to Aruba twice and found little to do aside from lounge on the beach. I had no idea Arubans were so sensitive. I guess the fact that I prefer islands that have more interesting geography, are more lush, green and hilly is a crime against humanity. Just get over it!
