As a Raider fan, i miss DC! I wasn't one of those fans who wanted them to get rid of him, and honestly i believe way more fans wanted to keep him rather than let him go! The guy can flat out spin it with the best of them! And by all accounts that i have seen he is a great person and locker room guy. So best of luck to him.
From all the Raider fans I have met you guys wanted him gone because he wasn't good enough to win the division with Mahomes & Herbert & Wilson in it. This is before Russell Wilson got exposed as being a fraud, but you guys were tired of finishing in 3rd and 4th in the division each year and thought Derek Carr was what was holding you back. Now that he is gone and Jimmy Garopolo is your quarterback I think you see how talented Derek Carr really was. Derek Carr is a good, borderline great quarterback. He's the kind of guy who could get you to a super bowl if you surround him with a better team. He just can't pull off miracles like Herbert who is a great quarterback and Mahomes who is an elite quarterback, where they can pull off greatness by themselves. But Derek Carr is at least good enough to keep your team competitive. Remember that game against the Chargers in the playoffs? How close was that game? It was a shootout where Herbert looked amazing but was carrying the team on his back. Meanwhile the Raiders as a team we're firing on all cylinders and in the end the Raiders won when Herbert finally made a mistake. That was arguably the best moment of Derek Carr's tenure as a Raider... And then you guys axed him the following year.
@SeemsLogical Carr had the same issues with terrible defenses as Herbert. They also have the exact same amount of wins and losses since Herbert's been in the league. Carr got the hate because he was a Raider. I don't think Wilson was exposed as much as you can clearly see what a bad coach will do to a team. Right now, he has 19 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Mahomes has 19 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.
Fyi.. you’re wrong. About 90% of the Nation wanted him gone about 5 years ago. Don’t confuse the small fraction of Raiders fans on social media that comment with the Nation at large. Social media is the vocal minority.
@@SeemsLogicalI'm just trying to remember when the Raiders and Chargers played in the playoffs😂 I think you're confusing their last regular season game with a playoff game. The raiders made the playoffs and promptly got eliminated by the super bowl bound Bengals. I'm born and raised in the bay area, and people were pretty 50/50 on Carr. It's an exaggeration to say all the fans wanted him to go, but I was personally shocked with his lack of support. I think if they still had him this year, the raiders probably sneak into a wild card slot.
Leadership yes. Talent on the other hand. I can't tell you how many times last year I saw Carr make rookie mistakes. Either stare down his receivers and neglecting going through progressions. Or not throwing to wide open receivers. Or throwing to wide open receivers but missing them by five yards. Blaming others for his mistakes. No pocket presence, etc etc. I wasn't as excited as most when we signed him. I have a feeling this will be his last year with us, unless he does a complete 180.
Man had so much potential until week 14 2016 against the colts. Everyone knew Raiders were going to the Superbowl. Still don't know why they kept him in the game up multiple scores in the 4th quarter. What could've been for the Raiders.
@@ImNotLieing00 I’ve been a Raider for longer than you have. Raiders have sucked for years and we stuck it thru cus us fans. We say once a Raider always a Raider because we’re like family. It’s not about being “mid.” That’s some corny ass shit. He’s part of the shield. And only these Edgar, skinny Jean, wanna be into football fans won’t understand
Gruden because he got jobbed by the NFL but he did write the offensive emails so meh, whatever. But Carr? That was a McDaniels' shitburger move. McD is gone, wish the Raiders still had Carr. So it goes. Hope he does great in Nola.
@@thewhitebeaner1282 That's another impact player. The Raiders have been their own worst enemies but it is good to see they're playing better. As a Chargers fan I want to see a good strong division of great football. I'm sick of the Chiefs.
I concur! I like Carr as a person. I've never met him, but he seems like a great guy with a good moral compass. The Saints are 8-8, and that's Carr in a nutshell. They might make the playoffs, but they won't go far. The Raiders are done for the year, so I'll be rooting for him. In his defense, I'll say this, the Raiders changed OC's on him like I change my underwear. He never got a chance to get comfortable under any offensive coordinator.
@@martymaesin8316I'm a raider fan and it seemed like they always tried to scapegoat the guy. What you said about the OC's is an understatement, and no quarterback can excel under that. When they had stability with Del Rio and Mckenzie, Carr was a front runner for MVP, and the raiders were sudden dark horse picks to win the superbowl. The dude had a shot at greatness snatched away from him, and I'm still rooting for him.
Carr & luck are the two QB you not only competitive themselves and play with heart. but shout out to the others Dlineman competitiveness and play on the field!
Update. It is pathetic how the Saints fans have turned on Carr. No fan should boo their own players. If Winston starts this Sunday, I will support him and pull for a victory until Carr comes back. That’s what fans do. They never boo their own players. They support them.
he’s disgustingly bad, and he and the management refuse to sit him regardless of how injured he is because they’re worried jameis plays better. he’s ruined the organization for the next few years because of his contract, and management not wanting to look stupid.
@@aw-zj5mb Worried Winston plays better. 🤣 That’s a funny one. But had Winston played I would have supported him and hoped the Saints would have won until the starter Carr returned, because that’s what a decent non toxic person does. And his contract is not that expensive. It’s mid tier among starting QB’s. And we already have a young QB we are grooming in Haener. So next year they will cut Winston and Haener will be the backup.
@@Fatoilyrat yeah? it was the giants. this is a team supposed to be in playoff contention. josh dobbs had a similar caliber game against the giants lmfao
He might be able to throw it that far actually. I am not someone who thinks he was the future for the Raiders, but it's impossible to not like the guy.
@@High-Side-Broadcasting like I said, watched him do it. Its a know fact he lead the league in consecutive years in, 4th quarter scoring drives... thanx to his defense always ranked 20th or lower.
@@1B2B-ReyAmost 4th quarter comebacks because he couldn’t put points on the board all game… Lead the league in turnovers for 2 years in a row. Dead last in red zone completion last two years as a Raider. Most losingest qb in NFL history on their first 6 seasons as a pro. Your standards are low af. Sad.
“You know me, I like that!” No you don’t bro, nobody does. Still a dawg though and coming from a Cowboys fan, the Raiders did him (and Davante) dirty and I wish him all the best.
Bro dc can’t even stand there and watch the scoreboard with out some one killing him like this oline needs to get in the damn weight room ur ab should not be getting cheap shorted almost every play and not one oline men did shit ab it
@@skyysthalimit1612 carr is on a team with an elite defense like he's always wanted and is still 5-5. Shit a lot of the saints fans want him benched already lol what's it like being a carrdashian?
@@skyysthalimit1612 and the raiders are still in the hunt to make the playoffs this season so your comment is just irrelevant. You know nothing about football
Raider fan here, I wanna go see the Raiders @ Saints in December. Is a saints game family friendly? I want to take my 6 year old son but if it’s hostile I’m not gonna take him lol… I take my son to games but I wouldn’t take him to a rams game or chargers game cuz those fans suck and don’t respect I’m there with my family. Is that the same thing at the superdome? Serious question lpl
@@mdotnelson you really don’t have an option, Carr is tied to the Saints this season. Root against him this season and you’re rooting against “your team”.
@@mdotnelson so if he were to go to the NFC chip what is your response exactly? Or a Super Bowl? Would you just say “yeah I’m just ready to move on”. It’s fine to not necessarily like Carr, but he is apart of the team this year and next so people have to deal with it. Being intentionally miserable and negative about things that we can’t control does not help.
