@@Gozieaaa In her case it is true. She is both beautiful and a talented mage, two of the things she's (albeit annoyingly) vocally prideful of. People criticize her character for being narcissistic but she's really just multifaceted. She's shown empathy and compassion, is content sitting on the sideline, has healthy relationships, while also valuing freedom and independence. But she also starts off each episode bragging so people just throw the label on her because they don't know the appropriate word for it lol
@@TGameDev i mean, both beautiful and talented are subjective to point of reference, but in the world of majo no tabi tabi, I'd say that's generally the case, i do agree with you tho, she has multiple qualities and shows sign of many different personalities you mentioned, it is indeed kinda annoying but tbh, i don't mind it as much as many others do
Well the town's effect is real. She can't deny it. This female character can be sly at times and isn't a goodie two shoes either and can perfectly lie when needed

If you've watched the anime then you may already know about the implications anime had, like the little girl Elaina spent a little time with was going to have her village ruined and die by monsters after Elaine left and the cannibalism And many more events like that more in the source. I didn't meant something bad happening to her, i war referring to her surroundings , And how this isn't CGCT type anime but a fairly dark one.

its like when escanor said he is the pinacle of all races infront of the demon of truth. if you lie or dont keep your promise you turn into stone. escanor didnt turn into stone after he said that. but the demon turned into stone after running away from him because the demon promised to fight to death
@@botengjoe8715 exactly. If he took a step back to dodge a swing how does the magic know its a dodge and not running away? There are some real life combat sports that treat dodging, moving in any direction that isn't toward your opponent, or even flinching as a loss.
No worries, if she could tell that lie then the spell is wrong. Also it's probably based on personal belief rather than some universal concept of truth.
My theory Truth is subjective, if she believes she is beautiful then trying to purposefully lie will indeed, stop her from doing so If the user's opinion is neutral, then the truth will be based on opinions, if most of the people she's met find her beautiful then yes, she in fact is beautiful So i think while saying something, the first priority is what the user thinks, if they say the opposite of what they believe in unless its a universal fact then they'd by lying, if their opinion is neutral then the truth or lies becomes based on existing opinions That's just my theory though
I'm curious is the truth based on your own believe the majority's believe or objective fact. This setting would make for a great single use town in a dnd campaign
