The rabbit hole of Tom is VERY deep, probably 100 videos by now. He crosses all styles and Genres, But he always has a message in what he says. Always has. He is unlike any other artist out there.

Tom has so many sides. One side is an angel who saves lives. I found Tom when I was on the edge of ending mine and he gave me a light to follow out of the darkness I was in and my life is significantly better today. Now I am over 4 years Sober and my life is getting better every day. I am not the only one. HOG for life!

Hi Alice, welcome to the Hangovergang! I'm a 60 year old hippy grandmother who grew up on rock and roll. Never really liked most rap songs. But once I heard Tom and Nova's music, the lyrics caught me. I let my four grandkids who live with me, see the Ghost video and they love it! I'm constantly amazed by the wide and varied age demographics Tom brings into the HOG. I loved your reaction to the song btw, it was very similar to mine. Then I started listening to more of his work and I was hooked. As others have said, welcome to the rabbit hole, enjoy the ride and glad to have you join the HOG Family! ❤️

Love seeing someone who is obviously not the looney far left being introduced to Tom. This man is on a different level. Never heard anyone like him before. If you like one song, you'll love them all. He can't be cancelled, it's him and his girlfriend/wife shoots the videos. 💯 Independent. He's went through a lot and totally sober today. He's inspired everyone in the Hangover Gang in some way. I gave up on rap 20 years ago, accidentally overheard him at someone's house and came home, listened to every song on his page and haven't stopped since. Tom is in my top two choices for best I ever heard, the other is Ryan Upchurch. Give him a listen to sometime, they are all independent and say what they want and what most of us think.

The smaller then baby sized baby dolls I think is meant to resemble ‘the system’ and a-bortions. He tears their legs and heads off. Pretty grim, but is art.

Hangover Gang is the name Tom and his friends used to call themselves when he was younger. That is the name of his fanbase now, Hangover Gang, HOG Army, etc. He drank a lot, took pain pills, etc. was, (or is, however you want to put it) an addict and an alcoholic. He had a mental breakdown several years ago due to his addictions, came close to killing himself, and spent about a year on his Mom's sofa getting clean. During that time he thought a lot about what was really important to him, in his music and in his own life, and completely changed his life, his music, and everything. Some of his music from before that time was probably the type of rap you would not be a fan of, though I do enjoy some of it. I would also suggest NF, another rapper, who raps and is a Christian, but doesn't consider himself a Christian rapper. VERY talented rapper and also has a great message. Most recently Ren, a UK artist, has been popping, and he is another I would suggest. He can rap, but he is also a great singer and musician, and always has a message too. These are some of the artists I as a 55 yo swm listen to a lot over the last few years. I basically quit listening to rap after the 90's, and these guys have got me back into it to an extent. And if you aren't interested in doing reactions yourself, you should check out other reactors that do reactions to Tom and some of the others. I think you will become a fan at least.

Great reaction video! I'm a 60-year-old Texan who has never listened to rap in his life. I got hooked on Tom MacDonald when I heard a clip of Brainwashed. From then on I loved every song that I've heard of his. Fake woke would be another one I would recommend for you. Looking forward to seeing more reaction videos from you. His girlfriend, Nova Rockefeller, is the one that creates all of his videos. But she's an amazing rapper on her own. I would listen to her song "Did your Best".

Everyone is surprised that Tom doesn't use a musical intro to most songs. 🙂 He can be political (America, Dirty Money, Sheeple, People So Stupid, etc.), regretful or morose (Sober, Scars, Withdrawals, etc.), romantic (Ghost, Gang Gang - by his girlfriend but featuring Tom), make fun of something (usually still with a serious message, Bad News -makes fun of fully auto-tuned rappers but addresses depression-, Buttholes -everybody's got an opinion, uh-hem-, End of the World -we're destroying the planet but uses UFOs as the antagonists, etc.), you never know what you'll get.

I love how he is playing the role of the system speaking. Brilliant!!!! Tom says this in his song " My Fans" "I don't want followers that implies I'm the leader. I'm not the captain, I just gave 'em something they can believe in. He has done exactly that!!! Sheeple, Dirty Money, My Fans, Buttholes, The list goes on and on and it is a beautiful thing!!!

I found Tom MacDonald when I'm losing faith in my abilities to achieve getting my better half's poetry noticed. Seeing how Nova and him work together to get his messages out keeps me motivated to keep going. Plus during some very dark moments the HOG family was there to help me through it. This was a great reaction! ❤This was the first song of Tom's that I heard, although I had been hearing of Tom for about a year before I ended up listening to one of his songs. I nearly fell out of my chair while watching this video, there was too much truth he was giving and he was saying things we aren't supposed to say in today's world. How well Tom puts these concepts into verse astounds me and it hits me hard each time I hear it! #HangOverGang or #HOG is his fan base but we're more like a family, and we are massive! If you put the hashtags in your title, we can find you. Tom is Canadian but has lived in Los Angeles for the past 10 years, 6 with his girlfriend, Nova Rockafeller, also a Canadian and an artist herself. She directs, shoots and edits all his videos. Everyone calls him a controversial rapper, but I don't think Tom likes to be labeled. He just pays attention to what's going on and points out the hypocrisy he sees, no matter what 'side' it comes from. He's a true artist, using his voice to get his message out. Being 💯 independent, he has the freedom to do that. He has no label, no manager, no distributor; no marketing team, he does everything himself from his house, with Nova, his parents, his sister, her husband and a couple of friends as his whole team. He's also getting his dual citizenship and soon will be a Canadian- American. For more political style songs, I suggest Brainwashed and Fake Woke. To get to know more about Tom, then I Don't Care and Sober. For bar heavy songs, Whiteboyz (with a 'z' at the end) and Hangman. Emotional songs would be Ghost and Famous. Top tier reaction. The system was my first song and I remember this intense feeling hearing someone actually saying out loud for the first time what I felt was happening out there. So it's great to watch a first time Tom listener hearing the same song. The next song I'd recommend is "Sheeple" just fact after fact about our world. We are witness to a whole generation of new music (Tom MacDonald, Ren, Dax). They say what they want, and what we need to hear. And there is no fear for being cancelled, because they can't be cancelled. They are doing all of these songs themselves. They don't have management through a label to tell them to apologize. They only have themselves to answer to. They don't shy away from the hard topics. This is such an awesome thing. Finally music that isn't controlled by the music companies.

I don't usually click that button based off of just one reaction with most channels because I generally want to know more about the channel, its content and what they are about before I sub. This is the first time I ever reacted to a reaction with the creator of a channel using a gaming avatar. This whole experience is definitely a first! To see myself interacting with a computer generated image for all the nonverbal communication cues at different points in this song is an event all its own. I am not going to be able to highlight anything that wasn't covered in the other comments, but I want you to know the reason why I subbed is because, even with what events that you had explained what brought you to this moment also being of rare significance, this is a journey that I am hoping you go on into Tom's catalogue. He is not a one hit wonder nor a one size fits all type of performer. He does rap (pretty well) but that is not his only method of delivering truth, which is what his music is about. There has been a multi-faceted front to lull the masses with distraction and shiny things all the while those who are (who think they are) running the world are aching to bring the state of the world today tot he point of no return. However the pendulum can only go so far in one direction and I believe what we are seeing now is a movement of people who are of sound mind and those who are detoxing coming out of this poisonous haze the SYSTEM has been drowning us with. You can see it at local school board meetings where parents who are enraged at what their children are being taught behind closed doors. This is but one example of a multi-faceted front to get the people to worship at the altar of death. I’m a 55yo veteran, and Tom is the voice I’ve been waiting for. You should do Dear Rappers, the song that went viral and led to what you see now. It’s a very compelling musical journey. I was never into rap. He’s the one.

Tom is the only rapper this 57yr old head banger listens to. I can understand him and he spits fact bars. None of that money drugs and girls crap. He used to be that way but he got his act together. Go down that rabbit hole. It's a hell of a ride.

Welcome to the HangOverGang (Tom's fans). There's a lot to dislike about the majority of (main-stream)rap. I'm an old man who strongly disliked all but the occasional rap that was more about truth. Tom, being 100% independent and also opposed to all that main-stream stuff, has changed me and many others. Hopefully you continue to enjoy his work. He has a few different lanes including some that are funny, but still have a message.

My mom used to say, "You may not be of this world, but you are in this world". She was trying to explain why my fervent attempts to reform everyone was counterproductive. I didn't understand that until much later. But the "system" in this song is the system of this world. And although I am in the world, I don't have to live according to that system. The most popular analogy would be stepping out of the matrix, but that's not quite right. Because there is only one way out of the matrix, and there is no dodging bullets(perhaps metaphorically). But understanding the scale of resolution that is being acted out, and understanding how to know your audience and the various ideologies that may be possessing them, navigating the world is much less frightening and apocalyptic tgan this song alone would suggest.

You don't have to be into rap/hip hop to love Tom's music ~ his music is so creative it is impossible to put him in that narrow category. I haven't listened to any Rap since the early 90s because it's literally all the same! Tom breaks the mold. Everything that he does is outside of the box. He tackles topics that most won't touch. Dive in- you won't be disappointed!

You touched on what you described as a demonic presence around the baby in this nursery. So what hes doing is representing the system here and to drive his point he kind of adopted this more sinister persona to better reflect the intentions of what the system, in his eyes, has planned for this newborn. Tom cannot be cancelled, he writes all his own lyrics, plays all the music/creates all the beats, does all his own producing, his girlfriend films all his videos and together they do all their own marketing, producing their own cd's and that includes physically sending them all out via the mail. They are a family business in every sense of the word, and has declined MANY offers from BIG labels, turning down stupid amounts of money so that he can remain independent. Genius really, he has 7 figure bank account, they can try all they like, but he relies on none of them to do what he does, and 'they' hate it/him because he cannot be cancelled. It's hilarious how much fun he pokes at them, you would enjoy venturing down the Tom road... you may be surprised at how much you like him.

On the CD version of the songs he does generally give a longer musical intro. However, especially in the beginning, he uses his videos as RU-vid ads in order to promote. He is a marketing genius. And he understands that on RU-vid ads you have to grab someone's attention before that skip button has a chance to pop up
