I had a little bit of downtime before the new year, so I decided to take one last quick photo adventure to Jemez Falls here in New Mexico. It’s a short hour and a half drive from Albuquerque New Mexico and then about an hour hike from the actual waterfall road.
It was a great day, and since Jemez Falls is frozen this time of the year, it made for some great photos and video until I crashed my drone, the DJI Mavic Air 2, and it fell into the canyon at the base of the Jemez Falls. I didn’t have enough daylight to stay back and recover it, so I was worried I would never see it again.
A few days later, I headed back to Jemez Falls to make a drone recovery.
It was a steep hike down to the bottom of the canyon, and after some GPS guidance, I was able to find my drone once again!
It all worked out, and my drone still flys just fine, and I'm glad I didn’t leave a drone behind.
