Brother how much would you charge me to check out some land in Ghana for me. I know it’s $15,000 us. It’s on top of a mountain advertisement from Royal Kingdom. It’s about 20 acres available. I only need one acre. Because it’s costly!
I really love the fact that you said just because of the country you found yourself and the poor system (ghana is almost 55years of independent yet still growing backwards 😢)
I am so so happy for you. Congratulations! Integrity wins. God bless you. It's okay to be emotional, I was emotional listening to you. I have lost land in the past, so I know the feeling. We thank God for this great news. Enjoy your property with your family.
I faced same problem I bought a piece of land at apolonia and when I started developing family members kept coming there day after day so had to forget everything and get a new land else where the system in Ghana is just frustrating
Your lawyer was also at fault. There is something called due diligence that is supposed to be performed by an attorney. A simple search of the court records in the city would have alerted you on the13 year old litigation . Until Ghana computerize their land records to show liens, court decisions, and lis pendis ( on going litigation), many buyers will suffer the same fate as you.
Hard tedious journey but your tenacity and faith pulled through. Soooo glad you continued to work for what you want. Your test has truly become a testimony.
Thank you for sharing and being so transparent about such an important National Issue. After reading all the comments ONE of the critical places to check on Land Ownership Authenticity, is the courts Lis Pendis and courts decisions. A country 55 years young is still a baby if we measure age by independence from colonialists. BUT measuring age from the beginnings of civilisation Alkebulan was the first. My brother systems do help but the most critcal and the quickest solution to Ghanas land issues is PERSONAL INTEGRITY HONESTY AND ACCOUNTABILITY. You emphasized this in the very beginning of the video in your personal approach to life. The lesson is here for all to enjoy .... Medasse Bebreee
Wow! Congrats🎊🎉🎊🎉. Thanks for sharing your story. It is baffling to me how i keep hearing these horrible stories of real estate dealings gone bad; in a country like Ghana that is very religious. Im glad it worked out for you. I m looking to invest in a retirement home somewhere on the Continent but its these stories that are frightening.
You need to be very careful and do your due diligence. Otherwise, a chunk of your money will be lost. A lot of people involved in the sale of lands are dishonest.
Ahhhhh!! I give God thanks and praise on your behalf!! You have been through a lot…but you didn’t give up hope…you persevered! In Jamaica we say…”you took your licking (lashing) but you kept on ticking!!! Yes…you are so right about mankind being so cruel and unkind…but God is God, and He NEVER gives us more than we can bear!!! Congratulations to you my brother! Your best days are ahead of you!!
@@AfricaBuildingHub You are most welcome! I can tell that you are a genuine young man who is full of integrity. You didn’t deserve what happened to you…but God is faithful! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Also note, I told you my friend has land in Pram Pram she wants to sell to me. But it is a unfinished building sitting more than 15 years now mostly likely damaged by the rainy seasons. She work hard in the US and we both graduate from the same university but she left before me. She then sent at the age of 68 $70,000 us cash to family to build her a 3 bedroom home. Well they took and build it half way. Then someone stole half of the roof material and there was no windows or doors and they had the nerve to ask for more money 😢😢😢😢I am fearful that her family will still be jealous. She is heartbroken and refusing to move back. She wants $30,000 cash for the house half built and the land and title.
Not sure I want to get involved with a messy family dispute 😢. Many of us are coming brother we have suffered to get money we can not loose it to fraud of any kind.😢😢😢😢😢
The President of Ghana needs to address this issue ; make land records available online and create a streamlined process for land/property acquisition.
Hmmm this lands issues are terrible i cannot even start to explain my own hmmm may GOD have mercy on corrupt people oh congratulation brother you finally did it it was long journey but at last you reached that destination happy for you sad story
I feel your pain 😢, better days ahead to achieve more. Congrats. I’ve had similar experiences with land and still having land issues(for a sibling). I bought my first land in 2013, I’ve been locked up because of my own land. I never gave up till they gave me a different land, before that, they relocated me to 3 different places before finally settling for a land at abokobi which I still had issues and had to pay the other party involved. I paid both parties for documents, one has provided, the other hasn’t. It’s a crazy system in Ghana. Within all these years of struggling for this particular land, I’ve been able to build 2 separate 2bedroom apartments and currently building a 3bedroom. I bought one of it as uncompleted and bought another 3bedroom house from a real estate company. I leant so many lessons, doing a search doesn’t guarantee anything, u can still be scammed. Just go for titled land or buy already completed house and be at peace.
@@AfricaBuildingHub I would love to but I don’t like being on cam. I have a lot to share wish I can do it by audio. I’m currently facing an issue with another family on a land at abokobi belonging to a sibling. They even called me this morning to come and settle them if not they will demolish the building. The land was bought from a different family
there is a black american man, eric mcneal, who talked about similar issues with is land/house - family members or people affiliated with the local chief or something always coming around. but he had his house free and clear. he had an attorney handle stuff. he's now actually building homes there.
Don't trust him. He can never know more about land issues in Ghana than a Ghanaian who living in Ghana who has been dealing with land issues. Dont trust the chiefs either. When another chief takes over, he can claim that lands doesn't belong to the former chief who sold it. There are so many such cases.
A very insightful and motivational video. Just out of curiosity sir, Have you bought or tried buying another piece of land elsewhere, and how was the experience??
congratulations bro it's not easy but you should have consulted the chiefs of the area of the land u lost before making any payment ,sorry for that lost let us all learn from this, the chiefs are the custodial of the land
It seems that if you are going to buy land in Ghana, you should agree with the seller then start clearing the land before paying. If people show up contesting the sale, stop and move on.
I’m trying to buy land in Ghana, I’m not from Ghana , I am from the Caribbean. How do I go about checking the land properly and how can I find people to help
Good news, but never judge anyone by his or her religions believes or denomination, there are criminals and cruel people hiding under the name of the church duping people including so called men of God. I’m so happy for you.
This was the whole point! I forgot to stress this point in the video. So they don’t update their records when the land has an issue pending in court!!!!!
My sentiment is: there is no point in trusting any professional in Ghana. This is simply your lawyers fault . A simple google search yielded you info on the litigation. This is not about digitizing. It’s a lazy lawyer .
Probably my third time watching the video. Is there one thing you think if you had done could have helped you find out about the court litigation and prevented you from even starting with the payments to the woman.
I have a few questions for you. Did you check with the lands commission and see if the plot had injunctions on it? Was the land owned by one single person or was it owned by a family? Or did you just take the ladies word as truth and started the payment plan with her?
@@AfricaBuildingHub what about a lawsuit? This should be a open and suit case. The woman who sold you the land knew it was in legal limbo. Can you file a lawsuit???
Bro.. this my story.. my mom a single mother of 3 and a member of jehovah's witnesses was lead by a jehovah's witness elder to buy his land... ln conclusion she never had the land... the elders of the church had a meeting which was ended by telling my mom to keep quiet and not bring reproach on jehovah's name.... I seriously hate those people for the pain I saw my mom go through....
@@AfricaBuildingHub something my grandfather told me... After buying a land plant coconut trees enough to cover the property.... trust me it a better way to know the history of any land.... lands commission is just a useless institution...
Purpose. A deed is evidence of a specific event of transferring the title of the property from one person to another. A title is the legal right to use and modify the property how you see fit, or transfer interest or any portion that you own to others via a deed.
Are you sure they are Jehovah's Witnesses (the woman specifically) or she just attends the church? Because they are two VERY big different things. Not everyone who attends the church is a JW (baptized). If she's one, then you should report her. I have never heard such a case before... it's NEVER acceptable (saying this based on your narrative). Second, taking or not taking legal action is your decision to take, but I'm eff about why you wouldn't take legal action when you were clearly deceived and they admitted (as you claim). They just "being poor" is a weak argument in my opinion (considering the amount). But if you're just letting it go, that's fine, I can respect that.
I explained why I chose not to take legal action immediately. 1. Court cases take an eternity in Ghana 2. The family invested in a micro finance which mismanaged funds and was shut down by BOG
Time to get the court case resolved is also a factor I considered. And the money and time involved in going to court. I would rather focus that energy on building my current house.
Dude move in Ghana as thou everyone is a criminal and are looking to fraud you until proven otherwise. This will help you from parting ways with your hard earned money. The system is corrupt, the people are more corrupt and the environment is corrupt.
And this family lied to you so much , what proof do you have they actually invested all in the “micro finance” ? You would be surprised how much money these “poor” people have . It’s one of the frauds that keeps them frauding with no accountability
