The goal was simple, minor upgrades to the Wrath and nothing else.. but sometimes you just have to let insanity take you and upgrade every single thing you have! Only the Ravens were spared, for now! Bit of an odd video today that I didn't fully know how to title but at least now finally back to recording properly in a house with the electricity actually working!! Hope you all had a lovely festive season and new year!! :D
Wonderfull news for us lathrix ! Hope this new year will bring us more of your lovely insanity ! happy new year, lots of love ! and BLOD FOR THE BLOD GOD !
Thanks for the episode :) Btw. the Deckguns can not fire over each other, so with the current arrangement there is a risk the the guns in the front eat the shots fron the guns further in the back. (They also collide with mining lasers but I believe that's everything)
Hot tip regarding merging beams: only the damage of the beam matters for the "Always merge beams of equal strength" rule, not the number of prisms it has gone through, so you can probably cut a good number of the prisms out of your design without losing any damage. For example, looking at the bottom set of eight beams in your current design (I'll refer to them as one to eight going left to right), you have each beam going into a "primary" prism, then each primary prism firing into one of four secondary prisms, then all four of those firing into a tertiary prism which directs the beam out of the craft. However, if you have half of the primary prisms fire into their partner's (one's into two's, four's into three's, five's into six's, and eight's into seven's, for example) you can cut out the secondary prisms entirely and achieve the same result. It's worth noting that, as you'll observe on several enemy designs in the video like the Vega and the Sol Absentia, if you place the primary prisms at the point where the beams would naturally intersect coming from their emitters you only need half as many, although that might prove a bit unwieldy with the current layout of the ship. Also, you should note that your design forgets the second cardinal rule: "Never merge more than two beams." you go from eight to four then straight to one on all three of your final beams, losing out on a lot of damage. Hopefully that helps a bit for the eventual re-re-redesign!
We understand the delays - water AND and electrical problems in a house is a grade-A pain that takes a lot to get back in order. Love the series and keep up the great work!
Of what I know of Slaanesh missiles are definitely appropriate. Nothing like long cylindrical objects... repeatedly penatrating You may want to set your middle aiming crystal to shoot somewhere more productive than shooting yourself when not haveing a target :p
I got into the beta because of you. since your first video I’ve poured over 300 hours into this game. You also convinced me to buy the full version, and my god, it’s amazing!
I really don't care how late the videos are, I'm so happy to hear that whatever problem or inconvenience has been troubling Lathrix is now totally resolved and that he is ok. No matter how late the videos get, Lathrix wellbeing is much, much more important
I love long series and i wish they were done more, It gives me something to wait for and a continous story. Specially with games like cosmoteer and airships, and episodic form is great imo cos we get so see each ship in detailand follow along with your campaign
I think you should keep the ravens and rather than creating the slaanesh missile craft you could make a Nurgle Brawler with flack. If the slaneash craft does come to be perhaps a railgun as well as the missiles so it can do more than the ravens. Oh and for the zeetch thing maybe the two outer prisims could have a pair of sheilds on either side, and a thruster behine them to balence out the shape.
with all those cannons and that name, Reminds me of a wood spam craft from the game from the depths . Some of my favorite videos started with “I had a little bit too much to drink last night”. I may not have been there at the very beginning but I hope to be there when this ends.
You can also pre-aim your prisms so they don't have to traverse so far. They're the slowest rotating weapon in the game. same way you'd aim a prism at another prism, you can aim a prism at a point for its default orientation. (I didn't see anyone else say this, pardon if its already known)
I absolutely love this series. Seeing you build so many ships based on the gods. It's amazing. Would it be possible for you to make an ultimate rail artillery shaped like a spear named Odin ? Or another god themed build. Your creativity is astonishing
Wow I absolutely love the Design of your Tzeentch ship, it looks like a Cyber-fish in SPEHSS. PS: you could put EMP missiles on the "wings" of the Malal's wrath and throw a railgun in the center for good measure. + RAILGUN! I like railguns.
you might want to consider having alternate prisms and ducts to redirect the beam to when the forward prisms get rekt, so you can keep that beam in play, possibly rearward so you can adapt to incoming threats as well as having a way to keep the beam going
I individually would love to see flak in the future. It's a weird weapon, because of its hit scan nature and lack of penetration, it acts like a laser actually would. It also has a very high dps (higher than deck cannons), which activates my goblin brain
from testing that penetration difference lets the deck cannons beat flak every time as it will go through the same armour thickness alot faster than flak will
@@sonik0578 I'm also admittedly using the info tabs to calculate dps, which may be skewed one way or the other because the deck cannon has two barrels that it can fire simultaneously or staggered. Do you know if the dps is accurate as it is, penetration aside?
@@averywhitaker3513 I should of clarified i personally haven't done testing but other RU-vidrs have and videos on it always says that flak can on paper out DPS the deck cannons but lose in practical tests. I believe the deck cannons win because the shells penetrate further than the flak can before they explode and deals damage to the plates behind it. That aside in either mode the deck cannons DPS stays the same (provided it's constantly fed and has no breaks in its firing/loading/production chain) as your still firing the same number of shells it's just staggered so you put one out as the other barrels half loaded
i would suggest getting some mining operations going on the forge, it's a lot of profit and mining lasers carve through ship scrap very well also, head to the imperium's systems if you want to see some shiny explosions (:
Lathrix I burnt out of cosmoteer but your videos are still lovely, and a building aesthetic I have an idea of is to use lasers and an exterior gate or something, purely cosmetic. Would make a ship very bright and powerful feeling.
Also for Malals wrath, you can use construction blocks and armor wedges to both use the big shield and have it not get absolutely shredded by disrupters.
Lath, if you're looking for new games, I would recommend Nebulous: Fleet comand, a more grounded and "realistic" space combat sim, more reminiscent of modern submarine warfare than most other combat sims It has fully customizable warships, electronic warfare, customizable missiles, and the dev is working on a second faction and a campaign.
My house flooded recently as well, on the 23rd. My basement flooded, where me and my sister live. It didn't reach the outlets, so no electrical damage, but now we're missing the bottom like 31 centimetres of our walls. All I could think was, 'What a great Christmas present.' And then the firetrucks came. What were they gonna do, spray more water at the flood?
the top mounted cannons can hit the back of other top cannon turrets on the your ship doing no damage but basically just wasting ammo. at 17:46 you can see your back cannons hitting your front cannon turrets in the back.
I feel like a slaanesh ship ought to have a big railgun right down the middle, just a huge phallic instrument of destruction. I like the idea of a nurgle flak brawler. Maybe something less spiky and more tentacle-y?
The things from terraria that you’re thinking of are called “eaters of souls” and spawn in the corruption. Also it’s pronounced “tear-air-eia” like “terrarium” but with “ia” at the end instead of “ium”
28:21 the terraria creature you refer to is the water of souls. Also you should do a terraria play through, as long as it doesn’t get in the way of MORE TERRA TECH!!
Idea for Slaanesh craft: The Slaaneshi Snake, a thin submarine-like thing that has rows of missiles on the side. Could also change to a Lamia instead of Snake if you want it too have a head.
Hands down the most powerful weapon in this game is flanking. Most ships are designed to fight one enemy from one direction and are very vulnerable to being hit from the side or rear. A bit of meta knowledge, I believe they will try to focus and take out whatever ship you have that has the highest cost, so consider that when designing a multi ship fleet.
I myself reccomend linear beam cores, which are just long 2 rows of beams with one diagonal row of crystals (the beam rows hit it from both sides), with the line set to feed forward to a regular binary tree
Technically it's not the number of prisms but the distance travelled. For instance if you have a straight row of prisms vs just two at the start and end of the line with no prisms in between (the sane version) the damage falloff should be the same. ( >>>>>>>>>>> vs > > ) Unless you're talking about the number of merges, which is a different issue and one he's already mentioned.
@@TallinuTV Oh i think i misunderstood. looked it up. i was under the impression that each prism (even if its the same single beam being passed through) would decrease damage. Seems i was wrong. thanks
22:26 the AA-canons just shreded you into pieces, if you got for distance you could damage him but he couldn’t damage you! 😡 That’s basic outranging tactics! I like this gameplay.
19:06 having way too many crystals annoys me more than i thought. i think that they could be less of them but idk i don't play this game edit: 24:30 new design same problems i think. i thought space might be an issue but after i looked at it for a while i realized that there are still unnecessary crystals also wanted to say love this series!
31:30 Issue with armoring like that, while not a bad idea, the fight that killed that prism they had rotated so they WERE firing directly into what would be the gap you mention. Probably need more shields as well.
You seem to be enjoying having aiming prisms, but if you decided to go back to the more protected but rigid version, you don't actually need to control the ship's facing at all. Instead of giving it rotation commands, just attack a specific part and the ship will automatically rotate to hit that part with the rigid beam and stay on it.
If you want to face an enemy which has liberal usage of nukes, I don't think the Cabal Of Sol will offer that. Each faction has its overall niche: The Fringe Systems Resistance having a little of everything with their shmorgasboard, hodge-podge ships. The Monolith Cooperative trending toward cannons & railguns, often supported with missiles. The Cabal Of Sol focusing primarily on energy weapons (Laser Blasters, Disruptors, & Ion Beams) And the Centauri Imperium, which focuses mainly on things that go boom, including heavy usage of nukes. There are some outliers in each faction, and some variation within these standards, but for the most part this is what you should expect from each of the major factions.
Can you please attempt making a railgun spinner, unlike with a fanning build where you swing the railguns back and forth, a spinner remains on the spot and spins shooting their MANY railguns in ungodly fast succesion. I don't own Cosmoteer so i can't see if they work here but I have build spinners in Reassembly which is quite similar. You can equipt a spinner with rockets or mines as well, just go nuts and test a desing or two seeing if they are fun and/or viable for you to play with, I just figured you may want to be made aware that spinning a craft on the spot is totally an option.
Maybe Tzeentch's Wit wouldbe a good name for the Tzeentch craft, since it tends to use maneuvering to claim kills? Either way, Glory to the Lathryxian Legion, and Glory to the series! Edit, I saw the name and like Conqueror better actually ^^
@Lathland, Because Tzeench is the Chaos God of Trickery, and because a lot of his demons are shaped like either Birds or Rays, to call it a Space Rays, or Tzeench Ray, because honestly it looks like one of the Tzeench's Ray Demons
malals wrath is just starting to look like the rebel flagship from FTL although more brutalist looking its kinda fitting though since your currently allied with the rebel faction
now for shitz and giggles try to throw one of the warp gates into the sun or just strait up attack one its one of those absurd questions of what happens because honestly they are the largest ships/structures in the game as far as im aware
