I feel ya pain homie. Twice I've had to use all the funds from my maintenance account and even had to take a few loans out from the company I'm leased 2 to help cover some maintenance cost. At one point I was worried because if 1 more something had happened to my truck maintenance wise, I would have been starting over. Thankfully my truck has been holding up and I'm just now starting to be able to start building up my maintenance account again. Truck is paid off so hopefully it won't be as bad next time.

We need to unionize because it's no way that a driver can't pay there bill's or pay for repairs and their running everyday, it is the rates.

If I’m not mistaken the reason he lost his authority b/c as he said he got issues with the truck to get it fixed cost him a money $ plus other personal expense and in order to keep his authority he has to keep paying the insurance if not after few month the authority will be closed. simple is that ... good luck buddy you are the most positive minded trucker I ever seen on RU-vid. Having my own authority since 1994... plus no truck payments for the last 18 years... y’all jumping into “my own authority”. Cause there’s -Big Money- are in for a hard ride and most go out of business. It’s very simple. Go buy a calculator or use your phone to add numbers up. It’s called CPM!!! Cost Per Mile!!! Your truck costs money to run. If you don’t know it so you can profit. Park it.

I always wanted to truck; however, listening to you and a few others I think I will stick to washing toilets. lol! Naw! I actually hang gutters with my brother and we do really well. Also, I would miss cooking at home and sleeping on my new queen size 12inch Cool Gel Bed! I sure appreciate all truckers and when I am on the road I ALWAYS have respect for the big rigs. I know where you coming from. I had 3 trucks. 1 driver had a BAD wreck and a domino effect happened lost everything and went into debt. I'm restarting now. But what's funny is now I'm happy the wreck happened because I learned a lot. This Knowledge has to be shared if you want to know what I learned I would be glad to tell you.

bro, what were the main issues for this failure? semi breakdown expense, not getting good paid freight, not managing your money, or didnt run the miles? you swap from reefer to dryvan, was that the issue as well? if you have to start all over what can u change?

It happens brother if I fell 100 times I will still get up and try again that’s how we grow in life we learn from our mistakes but that’s how we grow to make us stronger. Only the strong survives in this world we live in today because if you are weak minded person you will never see what God has in place for you. The key is stay focus on what you want and you will most definitely get there. Keep your head high because if you fall on your back and if can look up then you can get up.

Were their any ways that other drivers could've still ran under your Authority and insurance?? Something like a written contract to where they have to pay you a set amount every month.
