New Yorkers, and visitors to New York: Don't miss this new musical. I've already seen it twice, and it's sensational. It's on at the Nederlander Theater, West 41st Street.

a guy in my theater company sang this for a talent competition today- it was amazing and i was shocked at how amazing his performance was- it was one of the best songs i've seen performed in my life.

This seems like a nod to a Cole Porter “list song.” It’s charming to me. It shocks me and eyes me that someone is talented and prolific as Jason Robert Brown has not had a “success” on Broadway. Financial that is… I’ve had a great joy of being involved in teenage productions of his “13” and “Parade.” I directed and choreographed 13. the score is complex rich amazing and the song “a little more homework” is a miniature masterpiece. My involvement with the high school production of “parade” Was more or less I worked for a theater company that did it and I knew most of the teens in it. Parade has very witty subject matter for any form of entertainment. But somehow the fact that it’s a musical might at first seem ridiculous, but Jason Robert Brown score deepens the impact of the show. To this day that high school production in Berkeley California was one of the best productions I’ve seen in theatre ever! Still keep my fingers crossed that Jason Robert Brown will get to hit that he deserves. He’s already a hit with me!

One of the best opening numbers in recent memory. Too bad the rest of the show wasn’t close to as good as it’s opener.
