William Frawley did Win a Emmy only Desi Desi Arnaz did not Win for his Work on (I Love Lucy) but he was Inducted into the Television Academy Of Motion Picture Art's Of History Postumostly After His Death His Daughter and Son Accepted the Ward On His Behalf for Creating the Modern Day Television Production Techniques That are Still In Use Televison to this Day.
These days I call it "forced comedy". It doesn't come naturally like it did with I Love Lucy. The shows back then felt all natural. It felt it was just them being themselves. You mentioned the 90s, one show that comes to mind is Fresh Prince. That was them being themselves.
@@roberttelarket4934 i have no doubt.. just listen to her aria called My Hero from The Chocolate Soldier. She sings it in the Albuquerque episode. So beautiful it's amazing.
@@Allison_Wonderland.: Of course I know it and heard at least 1500 times. Yes 1500 because I've been watching I Love Lucy since I was a teen in 1964. Also she sings Lilly of the Valley.
@@Allison_Wonderland.: Just saw the Albuquerque episode this morning again 9/9 and forgot to mention I loved the song and the way she sings Mama's Little Baby Loves Shortnin' Bread.
Pure comedic brilliance! This is what you get with theater trained comic actors and performed live, no less. I love Vivian Vance playing it completely straight and without irony. If this doesn't make you smile, nothing will.
Ernie's facial reactions to Ricky were priceless. The startled look at first, then by the end he could barely keep from laughing himself. Fitting into this quartet of geniuses is no small feat, but he did it seamlessly. Everyone there brought their A-game. 😊
'Tennessee' Ernie Ford appeared on only 3 episodes "Tennessee Ernie Hangs On", "Tennessee Ernie Visits", and the Season 4 episode titled "Tennessee Bound". In my opinion some of the funniest episodes of the show. In just three episodes he established himself as an icon far beyond the number of appearances just as did Earnest T Bass did in Andy of Mayberry.
Human cartoon character Howard Morris played Ernest T . He was one of the talents that supported Sid Caesar in early TV comedy with Coca and Carl Reiner . i also believe he directed some episodes of TAGS . Ford should played a Mayberry character like Howard S. but that's water over the bridge .
Yes whenever I see country-oriented episodes of I LOVE LUCY I always think of them as precursors to THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW and THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES, especially the DANNY THOMAS SHOW episode that introduces Andy, Aunt Bea and Opie when Danny speeds through Mayberry and gets jailed.
I’m 31 but have loved “I Love Lucy” since I was around 6, she and the cast has always captivated me. I love the black and white picture. I love antiques as well. Love this song. I never get tired of the show and have watched so many times
We are so blessed to be able to watch this clip over and over and over. If you watch it five times and focus on the facial expression of each of them, one at a time you see things that you’ve missed before. This is a classic!
The chemistry from all five of them come out on this number, so many nuances to emphasize that point. Bottom line together the I Love Lucy show isn't the same without the synergy of their partnership on the show. Timeless talent and entertainment!
One of the funniest parts of this vid is at 1:08, the look Ernie gives Ricky after Ricky does the "Western Swing Yell". Also, at 1:59 the look Ricky gives Ethel after she does the "rooster crow". Hilarious.
Classic...complete absolute classic. Always makes me smile when Ricky does the “Bablu” remix at the end :). Music brings everyone together and hell yeah everybody should’ve received Emmys.
Omgosh. . . that is classic comedy TV. Ricky with a conga drum in a jug band . . that alone is hilarious but add in all the other, and it's by far funnier (& more entertaining) than on TV today. RIP, I❤️L cast & crew. Thank you for the memories & the hilarity.
@@julietteyork3721 It's an exclamation of surprise, like "oh my god." Goshen is an area of Egypt, mentioned in the Bible a couple of times. The story is that the pharoah gave Goshen to the Hebrews as a safe place to live.
I love it when Vivian and Bill start to dance. Everyone pretty much knows they hated each other in real life and when they had to fight or hurl insults at each other on the show it just seemed so REAL! Because it WAS! But here, they look so happy and it seems they were simply having a wonderful time! Plus it was SO cute! Also the way the audience cracked up when Ethel crowed like a rooster! Did anyone notice the one or so second delay? They weren't expecting something like that and were caught off guard! LOL
Over the yrs I've seen this episode dozens of times! I Love Lucy is a show that has stood the test of time. It happened before most of us were born!! And we Love Lucy!
The best episodes of "I Love Lucy" were those with skits in which the Ricardo's and Mertz's sang and danced. Wished that there had been more episodes with songs and dances by the four.
One of the main things that separates ILL from more recently high esteemed sitcoms was their music. This is an example of music for comical effect . Not many sitcoms had music at all . ILL was one of the few that had music and had music for comical effect and sketches within the sitcom itself !
For starters, they held onto a dead serious face all the while knowing the foolery to come. Desi really hams it up in the end while Lucy seems to be having fun craning her neck like a chicken. And that crazy amalgamation of Latin beat and Appalachian. Who would have THUNK it!
I love this episode! I wish the part where they agree to help tenesse Ernie ford raise money to buy the bus ticket. Because he refused to except the money. I think that is hillarious.
