"Fred, do you hear what I said? The baby's due any minute!" "What's so amazing about that? You knew it would happen sooner or later." That's the winner right there. :D
What a phenomenal series: still fresh and hilariously funny nearly 70 years from it's debut in 1951. It will out=live most all of us; it was a great thing to leave the world. Thanks, Lucy: we all have a ball with each viewing!!
I always love watching I love Lucy. I can always watch it over and over again and never get tired of it. It's such a funny and good family show and still is and always will be.
I love in The Black Eye when Lucy and Ricky are reading from the book and the line in the book is something like "They said they'd call if they found Madge's body when they dragged the river. Wouldn't that phone ever ring?" and at that moment Ethel calls and Lucy jumps up, throws the book and screams "THEY FOUND THE BODY!" hahahahah
I LOVE when Ethel imitates Lucy's voice (& sentence), immediately after she, herself, says, "Fred, what were you doing in my closet?" That has always been a favorite line of mine in that episode!!! To rhis day, it still cracks me up! 😆 🤣 Thanks for putting all of these snippets together for us! It made me want to watch each episode... 😊 ❤ 👏 Awesome video, as usual!! ❤ ~ Maura in Maryland ~ 😊
what r these comments about Ricky hitting lucy,? this is a comedy show from the 50's, you've got Internet, educate yourself, the funniest show ever, still on tv, it's a joke!!!!!!!!
gee comedy was awesome bck then, wen u watch it more than once r twice, it never get old, always seems 2 get me in the happy cheerful mood wen am feelin down
I have been watching I Love Lucy reruns since 1967!! At that time my local station was playing it at 7pm weeknights. We only had one TV and I managed to get away with watching it for two years until my father put his foot down in 1969 and told me to switch the channel to Walter Cronkite and the CBS News! LOL By that time I had seen each episode at least once so I didn't feel so bad about it.
Reyna Because they have all been brought up in a world that gets madder everyday. The spoiled generation Just you wait it will be a crime to look anybody in the face in a few years and I'm not joking.
Wait a minute l didnt see the whole prt 2 where lucy was going into labor and where the neighbor lady mrs trumble complained about little rickys crying until 1 day she found that little ricky had been left alone after that she babysat little ricky all the time
It's true even though they did it as a joke, he actually did abuse her on the regular. It's cultural for men to abuse women & treat them lesser in other countries. It's very common for men to solve problems being "physical". A man who wouldn't do that would be seen as weak by other men & women though.
She wasn't too far along in the pregnancy, as you can see, during the taping and having seen my mom and both my sisters go through full term pregnancies, I can tell you women are still able to move around like that even up until the third trimester, unless otherwise ordered by their doctor. And this was a filler episode for when she was out on maternity leave so they had to make it appear like she wasn't pregnant.
@@dezeraejames7934 yes she did. As I said, this episode was filmed right after she announced it and was saved to air after giving birth to "Little Ricky" along with other shows as fillers while she was on maternity leave.
I remember watching this show when I was a kid ,I loved it! Also batman gilligans island, hogans heros and the flintstones at lunchbreak from school. They were great!
Funny how back then, you could make jokes about domestic violence, racist remarks, or poking fun at a persons accent on TV yet saying the word “pregnant” was considered too vulgar.... oh the 1950s.
82 people who disliked this must be young and dumb to not like good old school tv. and on top that lucy is hella funny! I have a 8 year old and 10 year old they think she is so hilarious they watch with me a lot.
Lucy, Ricky, Ethel Fred; not forgotten. Lucy and Desi had problems yet they remained friends for the sake of their children. Vivian Vance went through hell with her husband, yet she managed to hold her head high and played Ethel to a tee. William Frawley another versatile actor and he had his issues. Yet he too, he portrayed Fred Mertz to a tee. One show that always gets better.
They were all in a viewing room. Viv's husband was being belligerent to her. Desi took him out in the hall and told him what he was going to do to him if he didn't stop. He stopped!
All of these comments ranting about how Ricky hit Lucy are just ridiculous. It's from the episode "The Black Eye" where he tosses a book to her and she misses it and gets hit in the eye. Ethel doesn't believe her so Lucy tells her a fake "real" story. And the spanking scenes? It's all just acting. The most Desi Arnaz was doing then was most likely just lightly tapping her, but his acting was so well that it looked like he was hitting her. It's all just for laughs. Plus this was the 1950s, so it wad much easier to get away with joking about sensitive topics like domestic violence back then. Do your research.
Remember the episode where the scene ended with her squirming while she is at the fire place, and it looked like she was waiting for his slap, as Ricky approaches her slowly with the attitude of " you need to learn bitch"? You had to read between the lines. And, remember he played "Babaloo" on her ass for pissing him off... Then the episode where Ricky gave Lucy a spanking like she was a child? hmmm.
He barely touched her in the Babalu scene, did you not watch that? And the spanking disappeared after season 1. All the spanking was scripted and he's patting her in all of them. Take a chill pill.
Even though I know that when Lucy was pretending like Desi beat her up it was a joke, I still felt very uncomfortable. This is what women in abusive relationships really go through so it's very upsetting to see this. Even if it was meant as a joke.
so gay? what's that supposed to mean? I'm gay and I would never degrade myself on a world-wide thing like RU-vid.. by saying "so gay, aren't I".. why would you do that?
Did you notice in the episode "No Children Allowed" Viv looked really good and slimmer? That was the first episode Lucy did after having Desi Jr. And she also seemed to dress nicer in that episode.
Hank Austin it was a joke. Lighten up. He was just poking fun at himself. Maybe he did it because he doesn’t have a stick up his ass like some other people around here. I’m gay and I tease myself all the time! If that bothers you then that really is your problem. Some un dealt with issues u got there.
I was at one of my soccer games....my friend and teammate made a really stupid move that was not like him at all, and I called a time out and hauled him off the field... then said "You got some SPLAININ' to do!!

There's a website called dailymotion which shows uncut episodes but some people post the videos reversed or they change the sound and the women sound like baritones.
