I like that they reduced the capabilities of the pyro multi-tool's tractor beam, makes the maxlift actually a meaningful upgrade, and makes it using a rifle slot more meaningful.
Been using the cargo elevator as a nice place to have a room. Basically the grid allows things to lock and you can place things on tables etc. So far ive jumped server 4 times between EU and US and nothings disappeared. Still wouldn't trust it mind you but fingers crossed.
@@MrBucky769 I agree. The grind does have a pull factor for me. Being an ancient gamer though SC is starting to deliver the kind of game I’ve been waiting for most of my life.
I think three more years before it comes close to what we've been waiting for(then again I've been saying "just three more years" for the past 9 years), but only two more before we get most of what's needed for it to feel like a second world we can really enjoy when playing with friends. Unfortunately for it to start coming close to finished enough for the uninitiated we still REALLY need fully fleshed out exploration, which means the next iteration of maps and data gathering/saving points and drones, player rearm+repair(drones), npc crew for the solo players(considering making more money means bigger ships, and with engineering and fire that means you won't be able to solo big ships), at least Nyx and Magnus, fully fleshed out NPCs and stealth gameplay like we saw two citizen cons ago for Pyro, the maelstrom damage system and the quanta economy system, player built bases, item store insurance, the next step in bounty hunting(pods and drop offs as well as more non lethal fps weapons), temporary jump points, more random missions like JT/xenothreat/blockade runner, and so many more things I either can't think of of the top of my head or don't want to get into like the cutting tool(supposedly 4.0- but it makes me wonder how far it can go and how far it will go- if we'll ever get the door opening tools they showed us years ago and how they will work for ships that don't have double doors- or how the legionnaire will work- can you match speed and become a parasite like the merlin to a constellation? Or will you need to do enough component damage to the ship that it dies first?) We're still a far way out from the game people like me have devoted thousands of dollars to support. One day we'll see Earth with it's glass bubble historical buildings and Terra in it's grandeur. We'll vote for more soon hopefully as well. Thankfully the position of Imperator is a 10 year term.
Mate, awesome video as always. A tip... If you want to "place" something you're holding, somewhere... You don't need to go into the pie menu. Just hold down the left click on your mouse. As long as you hold it down, you'll get the shadow effect until you let go of the button. That'll allow you to quickly place something, anywhere. Hope that helps.
As a person who likes to do a variety of things, adding in another game loop is a win for me. DO a box mission, then some combat, run some cargo, do salvage or mining or just fly or drive around exploring.
I agree about the kiosks, tbh the people that didn't like the kiosks are the players that don't want the immersive SIM experience of SC and just want to get to action as fast as possible, most twitches are in this camp it seems I assume because it's not as riveting gameplay as combat thus they want CIG to elimiate as much of it as possible, while anyone actually playing the game in a more immersive way as you do in this video, it's great.
Man, really seeing this shape up with persistence and physicalised items, so exciting!! Hopefully items get more expensive and rare, I think some very low and high tier weapons would help too, weapons don't need to be balanced against each other in the PU, just balanced with their rarity / price which helps enormously with gear progression. I can't wait for the inventory to be updated too
Awesome patch and good to see it's out for all. Live isn't that far off. CIG Definitely needs to iron out some bugs and for sure there'll be a few 3.24.x patches down the line.
Another prime content video my friend, love watching these to a nice dinner. Can't wait for this to be polished out for the Live verse. This entry mission failed for me as it didn't detect the cargo i lowered to the destination, so the cargo just despawned. (if you hold down left mouse while in place mode, you can rotate any item) My companion turtle is called chewie ;)
I like that we can put some time in and get 'started' as well. I mean in a few hours in you can get bunch of armors, weapon and some credit but the issue is that for those with starter ships, with the economy and the ship prices, it takes forever to get to do anything. I think they should keep the reward to be as it is but massively reduce the ship pricing especially medium or those ones that starters upgrade to like the Cuttlas Black or C1
The two things I do in Star Citizen is cargo hauling and delivering if they work properly, but there is not else I do in this game. I found you can order 32 size SCU and 24 size SCU but, in this patch you can order because they are to big to bring up the elevator. You can only do little SCU. About 100% of the time the ships blow up when want to bring up a new or the old the send back doesn’t go away.
server meshing won't "resolve" that issue, but they'll have to fix it or else the game becomes completely unplayable once there's multiple servers in a system x]
It's been smooth for me. I did have a bug where the hangar doors wouldn't open so I switched ser4vers and that fixed it. Others haven't been able to get out of bed in their habs, but going to menu has fixed that so far. Otherwise the occasional server recovery has been a small issue. Also I have been testing vulkan and that is running well.
For inventory items: If they could just make it so it acts like the current version, but looks like the version that you like I would be happy with it.
Too little too late for me for the "now pretty much everyone is working on SC" situation. I can only hope it's because too many are working on 4.0 at the same time, because this development pace just won't cut it.
Hey SMB love your videos bud! FYI when you go to place an object " like the turtle" if you hold LMB while moving the mouse it will rotate that object. :D
I’m having the same problem with non-persistent hangars. Doesn’t matter what I try. A message to concierge support didn’t resolve anything either as it’s all in test at the moment. I have glitched a few times into space or get trapped in the structures but tbh for the last patch or so that’s not been an issue. I’m hoping that when it goes Live the hangar problem will have been sorted out.
Fisicalization opens doors to smugling (in 4.0 pyro) and no need for armamentistic zones, only eneableing the spaceports' detectors for weapons, and letting the NPC to fire to anyone who tackles a player/NPC
we definitely need an Ursa Cargo.... basically a flat bed Ursa with just the cab also pay out is determined (or rather should be) by risk, effort and distance...
Nice showcase of the patch ! Love the slow pace and patient gameplay ! One thing is missing, though : player interaction ! Hopefully people have their mics set up… this can avoid a blood bath, and ease « negotiation » if needed ! Also the turtle’s name is Michel. Cheers 🖖
Ah, so far so good in the PTU. Loving it and also I have my Salvage Missions back it has been 3 patches. Yeah, panels are awesome, but Salvage with loot I like.
Cool, i have a cutter and you made me realise i can easily carry up to 12 SCUs with enought space to enter and leave. Might even be able to get 18 SCU if I box myself in, though will need the help of a friend for that.
So far I am enjoying the new hauling missions myself. Once they get all the kinks out maybe we might have a good 3.24 release this coming week. I never thought I would enjoy hauling cargo the way they implemented this game loop, its calming and pretty cool.🙂
This kind of content needs to be highlighted. Top chart of RU-vid. These kinds of things are being overrun by the idea that this is too much effort for people. It's not, but I fear that opinion is too strong.
I went into the PTU last night, had problems with the storage kiosks and once I got to my hanger is where I came to a big problem. The noise was so loud I couldn't stand to stay in there at Orison, hope they fix that soon....
@@arride4590 It was some type of Machine running, it never got quiet in there and was so loud that after about 10 or 15 minutes I decided to just log out..
If You're insane anough, You can pack 12 scu in cutter, and leave tight passage in between to reach a cockpit. I Packed 8 scu in Rambler, and that worked somewhat good. BTW, I would name this turtle: Emperor Palpatine.
IM really liking what they are doing with all the updates. I cant wait for the day where we have Armour racks, and can actually physically see our armour and helmets in game instead of it just being a box.
this is the type of gameplay i've been fighting for on spectrum... if you just go with it, the experience is something else... i'm freaking out a bit myself, but for other reasons than most. i think the drawer is fine. in lore it is the same as the cargo elevator, only smaller. no real difference in lore as physical machine functioning off of some connected storage. the interface could be better, though... been trying to think of solutions, but best one i can come up with probably involves fully swapping to the newer inventory UI... new UI has to be fixed (just dropping items is BS), inventory windows a bit bigger, and F4 3rd person toggle to sate the thirst of the doll people (etc.) lol.... i modded Skyrim a fair bit, and in doing so learned that the mannequins are literal NPC with a specific mannequin AI package that just allows access to the NPC's inventory, which auto equips armor given to it. using this logic, the drawer could be given the same type of AI package. same as armor lockers. i.e. walk up, interact, armor locker/Kiosk drawer prompts player with NPC loot screen, player slides undersuit to locker, and locker AI automatically equips items given to it. because only armor and small items are obtained from Kiosks, the interaction could default to the armor loadout screen of the new UI. there could be a "paper doll" to dress on screen, because of the AI package being used, but (imo) isn't a requirement. i'm fine pulling up a few items, trying on, then transferring worn loadout to armor locker/display mannequin.
My guess is that this patch will go to Live on Friday (As they currently have a free fly that ends on Thursday the 22nd) so we can expect to see this go to live sometime after that
I've had a lot of issues with contracts getting abandoned with server glitches. Some times you are unable to finish a contract because the fright elevator console at the drop off location is un-responsive. It causes a hit to your hulling rep ever time it gets abandoned and eventually makes u uneligible to take them.
Looks like it's time to get back into the game. Wasn't a fan of 23 so I've been on a hiatus. These new features look really to build the immersion factor which I love!
FOBs have no loot, no NPCs, no missions, most of them don't even have names yet, I assume all that is to come. I'd guess their inclusion wasn't meant to happen yet, like how derelict settlements kept appearing and vanishing from builds when they were partially done.
Unless I have to, I will NEVER store any equipment on the ship. If ANYTHING happens, you lose it. Plus, it would be nice if I could make it past pulling my ship before being kicked out.
Yes it will be good to get 3.24 in to the PU I was doing some salvage and I couldnt see the last 3 box's due to over stocking .So I had to wait .in 3.24 I could just empty the Vulture after 2 or 3 trips and then sell it all in one go. just hope its a stable patch and not many bugs
12 years to do what Ultima Online was offering in 1997 with its housing system. And that mmorpg was letting you choose where you wanted to settle down.
Not really impressed. I haven't played in months because there's no point due to wipes. Hangars sound great but who cares if you're never around anyway? Most of the time I'm in other sectors of the map, or the game just crashes in the middle of a mission. Once they have Pyro in and wipe is done, I'll probably retry the game. I'm enjoying ED and NMS for now... not a lot of push to bother with an SC mess.
The best thing for Hanger instants would be the ability to buy a bed or some kind of camping bed to place in order to log out and then back in again instead of making the godawful trip from hab to train to hanger, every effing time 😉😀
Just log out in your ship in your hangar lol. (Edit*** I just found out you can’t bed log in your hangar, so my next solution is drive your ship outside the hangar and bed log there, then when you log in, you can immediately fly into your hangar to get prepped for your adventure) But even bed logging is supposed to change at some point. The devs have said they want players to be able to log out and log back in in the same spot they logged out at. This is one final step of persistence after dynamic server meshing is working properly. That is when total persistence is supposedly going online as well. We shall see if that happens or not but eventually we will be able to pick up where we left off. I can’t wait for this as now it allows for crash landing situations actually turn SC into a survival game. Instead of just logging out and back in, you would then be forced to either hike to the nearest landing zone, player hab and get rescued, or call out an emergency beacon as well. This would cause incredible dynamic/organic gameplay that is fun and enjoyable. Imagine crash landing on a planet full of hostile fauna, or hostile atmosphere, or no atmosphere, etc. and it becomes a race for survival depending on what situation you find yourself in. Either hunker down and set up camp, or try and hike to the nearest civilization. Along the way you might be attacked by hostile creatures etc. this gives ground vehicle preparation even more credibility to exist. With the pulse virtually capable of being stored on any ship with an interior you might always have one available in the event you crash land. Or if you need a vehicle that is more sustainable like a URSA rover you can stick it with plenty of survival supplies in case civilization is extremely far away. Grants more opportunities for utilities like the Starmap mapping features to fill out the map data as you traverse the landscape. So many opportunities are there if the game forces you to have to physically be rescued as opposed to just logging out and server hopping, or backspacing as well once DOASM mechanics are added.
That part. I won't really use my personal hanger much until I can buy a bed to log out in. I don't want to take public transportation every time I log in.
@@Patch1xo why not park your ship right outside your hangar and bed log there, then you could log in and out right next to your hangar and quickly get there without the public transport?
@@MidnightWolfSDJyou can't bed log in armistice zones. Don't forget that the hangars are instanced, so you won't be the only person flying out of that same door, and your hangar might not always open to that same door. Another factor is performance around landing zones.. remember the recent duping glitch? There were C2s everywhere, blocking hangars and lagging people on older hardware.
Im liking 3.24 myself ill miss the old local inventory but ill live . After playing in ptu i had to make a few changes to my fleet i got my ptv out of buy backs added a Taurus again and also got my srv out of buy backs because they made it worthwhile to own again
Backer since 2013. Still here. No longer a citizen though. Excitement for SC, nonexistent. Now I'm just intrigued of how long they can stay in business. Amazing CIG have almost made a billion dollars without a single fully developed game. They sure did develop a top tier marketing strategy though.
As a new player of three days, I can say this is the most frustrating and glitchy game I have ever played. I am finding it impossible to make any money in the game because it's impossible to keep an armor kit for long enough to actually get to a mission location and complete a mission. My ship keeps randomly exploding when I'm not even in combat. And then you have to wait 15-20 minutes before you can even start to try to fly back to your corpse. The game is a great idea but it's in a terribly unplayable state.
What is this audio SuperMacBro has for his intro? If it’s a custom one for his stream, does the producer offer sale of his track? I could listen to it on repeat. It’s so relaxing.
@supermacbrother I noticed 2 things in this video that I'm curious about. #1 - are those tables in your persistent hangar only in the small personal persistent hangars? I have never seen them in any of the hangars I've been in while in the PTU. #2 - while in your ship and leaving your hangar, I noticed that your SCM limiter changed to round instead of square, and there is a crescent shape at the very top. None of my ships have that. Is it a Cutter thing, or do all your ship HUDs do that? Mine never have.
Mac, I’m very surprised you don’t like the change to the FPS gear kiosk. It was pointless and tedious having the extra step of putting things in the drawer. This just eliminates that step which is 100% better.
The small hangars are much more liveable! I regret my massive hangar! I couldn’t play the abysmal slide show that was SC at Lorville last night though so turned it off. Many in the server complained of same and we server hopped but still same issue.
I'm liking my extra large hanger I've got my hover bikes and land vehicles stored at both sides and some in the middle because you never know which doors you come out at I just wish there was more room on the sides they made the ship elevator so huge I guess for the idiris and javelin. My reclaimer could fit on just half of it
@@jasonmcclure5491 yeah I feel like the hangars aren’t utilised to best standard yet and are a bit unwieldy. Good shout on leaving your hover bikes at intervals 😅
I personally have a love/hate relationship with the game, It has so much potential but they never stop moving the goal posts to impossible ends.. but the chaos is amusing; how can you take it seriously?
so what exactly did they change since wave 1 with the inventories? The freight elevators and the item kiosks are good, as it slows down the pace of the game.
Really? I'm glad someone is. It's completely bug ridden. I just spent 3 hours being randonly kicked out of the game, having to reload only to be kicked out again or stuck in a lift or not able to get into my ship. Then finally when I got into my ship, getting a crimestat because someone crashed into me when I was taking off. Not my fault either but it wiped out half of my aUEC. In 3 hours I spent a total of ten minutes of actual gameplay.
