I get violently ill from the prep as well as severe itching. I have tried twice and could never get through it. The fact that I just can’t drink a lot at one time of anything made it extremely difficult. I’ve had the cologuard done with good results.

I'm sorry you had a yucky 🤢 experience. But it's over now, phew. I've had 3. It CAN and DOES SAVE LIVES. My first one, I was awake and got to watch! It was fascinating and caused no pain at all. Do not be afraid. Now they make you sleep and I'd prefer to stay awake (how often do you get to see inside your body!?) Recap: prep sucks; test itself it easy, you're asleep. This can save your life! Just do it. Please❤

Dr.Jen thank you for share your experiences regarding I'm a Doctor and this was the worst thing about my Colonoscopy prep! I understand you I had a colonoscopy 3 weeks ago.the preparation is a litle dificult and I had a little dizzines because I was in the bathroom all the time.

I have my appt next month and I am ready to get it over with buttt I’m also a bit nervous because idk how I’ll handle the prep . I hate being nauseous and sick so I’m worried about that part . My moms went well with no issues so I’m hopeful lol but I know everyone’s journey is different.. Praying for the best for us all 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I had mine 3 years ago , and i went thru what you went thru doctor Jen! The nausea and sick feeling..uuuggh ! The procedure was fine , the prep got me ! I am like you , i hate the nausea feeling, so bad! Thank you Dr. Jen! God bless! 💝🙏

Had mine 2 years ago. I'm not a fan of the prep solution. Had to drink it slowly. It didn't hurt at all. The prep was the hardest. I go back in three years.

I also had a lot of nausea from the colonoscopy prep solution. The second and third colonoscopies I had, I took Gravol which made it easier to deal with. While the prep was not enjoyable, I am grateful that a number of polyps, one of which was kind of large, were removed before they could become cancerous.

I had a colonoscopy about a year ago and they found a colon cancer and removed it and I didn’t even have to have chem therapy or radiation because it was found so early so now I have to go back every year for a few years, but the prep wasn’t too bad. I had the same experience where I was sick to my stomach, but I didn’t throw up this time.

Dr. Jen, I didn't get a colonoscopy. The reason is when I drank the prep, it made me dizzy. I was able to do the stool sample instead.

I had a colonoscopy way before age 45 due to having several and severe GI issues. I will be turning 41 next month and I do need to go get a mammogram done though

I'm 61 years old I never had a colonoscopy done 😨 I don't like the taste of a Gatorade and Pedialyte and those other drinks, and I don't drink a lot, so to drink a gallon of that stuff 🤢

When I got my first one! I was sick!! Throwing up and very nauseous after the colonoscopy was done! I ended up taking a extra day off just because I felt like crap

I recommend Doctor Pugh. He has a partner in slime Doctor Butts. They are the best tag team proctologists around

Sorry you had to go thur that Dr. Jen. The first one I hated drinking all that stuff. I was a little scared when I got to the hospital, but for no reason, everything went well. The second time was much easier, less stuff to drink, same doctor. He played Stevie Wonder the whole time. He loves Stevie Wonder. Just remembered it's a necessary evil, lol 😅

Thank You for sharing with us Doctor I take a stool test every year so far so good . I was told by my doctor that's all we need. For a colon test if no blood was found in the stool then it's okay. Try just a stool test next time some people like myself don't like that anesthesia and all that poking it's not necessary just a suggestion.

I tell everyone that the prep is worse than the procedure. I've had 2 over the years and the first time I had to drink the stuff which was horrible. The second time I got to take the pills and drink a lot of plain cold water. Had a book and my phone for bathroom time. Easy peasy...no polyps and go back in 10 years.
