I attended the 1977 concert in Melbourne/ Australia and the mini musical were 4 brand new songs just for the world. tour l quickly fell in love with I'm a Marionette, but the minute the backing girls started, singing get on The Carousel l was absolutely mesmerised their voices were so powerful and loud, and their dancing moves were magical. I was so very disappointed when they didn't include the song on The Album. Even after 47. I still feel that the mini musical on the album is not complete it should have been recorded to complete the mini musical on The Album. I still remember this concert like it was just yesterday. I was 16 years old, and today 2024. I will be 63 years old. ABBA. Thank You For The Music. Francesco. 🙏💜🙏
In "Get on the carousel" you can hear how the girls perfectly tuned her voices, so much so that they are hardly distinguishable. The stunning harmony of their voices is one of ABBA's many incomparable features.
My father took my brother and his two friends to the Sydney concert in 1977. I was too young but I remember all the hype. Today parents wouldn't hesitate to take a 12yr old to a concert of this caliber.
Even as a kid in the 70s ( born 72) i still understood marionette. More so in the 80s of course but it was a thing, like chitty chitty bang bang. You just got it!

From the 6th minute in this video I can see great terror on Agnetha and Frida's faces when the photojournalists are pressing into their room. Is this a set recording or a real situation?
@AbbaVideosRU-vid yes definitely staged but quite well done. It was probably done in Sweden, but at the end of it you can hear someone say "this is Channel 9". If it really was Channel 9 they wouldn't have had to clamour for footage because they basically owned them every time they visited Australia.
You also got the idea to rip those from the Abba: The Movie, right? :D I just watched it and deleted it being slightly disappointed, but then remembered this part and wanted to find it :D
Unfortunate that great songs were sliced and diced and interrupted by pieces of that silly movie. Would have been better if they'd recorded a full concert.
Oh lord I wish with all my heart they would release an album of this tour, it was absolutely THE BEST, it is completely electric and lives up to their studio recordings. PLEASE, PLEASE??????
