Somehow the processing of a studio recording leaves you feeling like you had a diet soda. Something is just missing.

Every song Chris "sangs" is great. Chris is a great songwriter and musician, do I Was Wrong, Fire Away or any others.

When I first heard Chris Stapleton about a year ago, I thought to myself that this boy is not country, he is straight up pure D blues. He is chilling and gives me such huge feels. What is ironic about seeing your Reaction to this today, I just heard this performance for the first time last night by another Reactor!! That happens a lot so I think you all follow each other. lol Any case, glad to see you bring out the handkerchief. He deserves it. FYI: He broke away from his usual genre and covered Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" and already liking that song, I was shocked to hear how crazy good he covered it.

He is a singer, musician and he also writes songs, he is the complete package.

You really can't go wrong with Chris Stapleton but if you wanna hear some varied nuances to his songbook I'd recommend: "Starting Over" (uplifting and vibey), "Arkansas" (barnstormer!), "Watch you burn" (epic righteous fury) "Daddy doesn't Pray anymore" (bereavement feels), "More of you" (gentle simple authentic Country ballad), "Either way" (brilliantly written "we're done" track), "I was wrong" (passionate soulful please take me back song), "Broken Halos" ("Murica"ish feels 😁) "Death Row" (bluesy rock with a rebel vibe) "Them Stems" (Stoner Hillbilly anthem!). Tbh this is scratching the surface as you've stumbled over an artist with an awesome back catalogue which is pretty varied too. I think the above loosely covers the broad brushstrokes though. The words and theme are country but Chris is nothing but soulful with everything he sings . The gravel in his voice, the ,vibrato,his runs,from high to lo w and it blends perfectly. This is one of his best performances imho. His wife. Morgane sings his female backups but this a man to man showing your vulnerability kinda song. Things a guy usually doesn’t share to others but maybe his best friend.Guys are told from young age that a guy is tough, you don’t cry,you don’t show hurt emotions.

It's almost disparaging to try to peg Chris as a single genra. His mastery engulfs everything. Blues. Country. Soul, rock, jazz...he puts in the blender if his heart and head and what comes out is indescribable and a complete new genre of art.

Chris is one of them artists you can't put in a box. He started out in bluegrass, with a group called the steal drivers. To me in my opinion, he bridges country and blues together. Either way, good music, I'd good music. He is one of them artists that only come around every so often. He is a musical talent that transcends all types of music.

Barely Alive...live fan cam from a supperclub/bar before Chris was famous (note how the crowd stfu and start to listen as Chris' voice fills the room). All great live performances. As good as Chris studio recordings are...he is just one of those artists that is freaking better live. Test of a great performer. Also...Its A Man's World live...he was invited to perform this by another band on stage and the impromptu result is awesome. ENJOYED ur reaction. Enjoy these suggestions. None will disappoint.
