I passed my class 1 last month, passed my Mod 2 & 4 last week and can’t wait to get on the agency to build my experience, definitely thinking Hermes to start as they’re massively in favour of giving rookies a chance, thanks for bringing them to our attention Deady. Good to watch a vlog that isn't about the haters. I've been watching you since the days of delivering fruit and veg. Not watched a lot recently because the content wasn't the same. Glad you're back behind the wheel Deady and we've got a nice video to watch. Always used to come home and look forward to watching your vlogs. I personally agree with the dashboard menu thing. Its such a massive distraction and also confusing to navigate with everything hidden in some sub-menu somewhere instead of pressing a simple button or two, its even worse in news cars. I want a vehicle to be comfortable and convenient, not a tech show. Good video to watch and listen to as usual.
Great as always Deady, really interesting listening to your perspectives on HGV driving. I follow a few drivers and all have a different view, but entertaining nevertheless.👍🇬🇧

Absolutely agree Deady ive long thought why is it they now put massive tablet like screens in vehicles and ways to link your phone and apps. All distractions at the end of the day and Absolutely the reason using your phone is illegal whilst driving. Why are manufacturers putting things like this in and why is the law allowing it. Your always going to have people who are easily distracted.

in 2003 i went to mertrux for day to learn about new econic and i came across my first computer and around 5 times the guy iterated computer settings to be set before driving off and at the end of the day he said no panic lads when you got it tamed you can do it on the move,i liked the first mans as they were erfs but i never drove an auto one onyl mercs and volvo's semi autos,i would prefer just the speedo,oil,temp,rev counter,and clock illuminated whilst driving but is interaction all the time with the new trucks essential ???.
I have a new Mercedes actros being delivered Monday with same double screens etc and bloody mirror cams so 4x screens and not buttons all via menus on the touch screens so bit daft like you say very distracting .wonder how long it take me to work it all out
The last place I was working at they had a new truck there. To use the heaters you had to use the menu screen in the middle of the dash... but we also had a camera on us that checked us every so often to see if we were getting distracted ( using phones etc) what fucking sense does that make ...

Hi Gareth. Fully agree that there are to many buttons/electrics. I recently bought a brand new Ford, thinking I would get used to the Electronics, Bleepers and Bongs & flashing constantly, I found it a distraction, made me a disgruntled driver. So 6 weeks later sold it. I been driving for nearly 60 years, 30 on HGV's, I do not need a nerd with a computer to tell how to drive my car. You learn by your mistakes. Long term problem is , it's going to worse. Stay safe Buddy.
I stopped at Rugby services on the way to London recently. Motorway services have come on in leaps and bounds since I last used one. There's even a dog walking area.
your 100% right m8 there will be more crashes with drivers playing around on the screens / dash ,, most of the options shud be locked once the is moving

Best vid in a while - you’re so right re the menus, why the hell is that legal when a quick 5 second chat on hand held isn’t. Oh but police can use hand held - why aren’t they exempt?
Go online to dvla licence check, put all your details in driver number and national insurance number plus the post code your licence is valid in. Then go to the bit where it says entitled to drive and it will send you a link 👍👍

Too late now. It's all filled. I went for a position but they wanted me to relocate for a few months. Top money and a hotel paid for. But I love my own bed too much.
