most camera vendor applications are really bad - i know that it holds true dor Fuji, Nikon, Panasonic - but not tried any of the others - why would they be markedly better though?
I'm sorry. The internet will hate me but I had it for two months and I just sold it. Not the camera for me and the image quality is not on pair with other apsc sensors out there. The worming effect is also very annoying. I'll stick with my 7RIV and my little Ricoh GRIIIX. I hope my X100V find a good home where it is more appreciated. ^^U
The 100v was out of stock everywhere so I got a XT30II. Fitted with a 35mm F2 it’s so compact . Love the jpeg simulations. Take it everywhere. It’s a great alternative to the X100V never available 👍📷
I watched every video of yours and I personally love your videos so much, it gives me positive vibes, the way u speak, edit, story tell etc etc.. I am Obsessed. Wishing you the best for your future my bro. Love from India❤
My X100V is going up on FB marketplace this week for 2K. Great camera, but I still use my X-T3 more, and would rather have a GRiii as an every day camera.
With due respect, I think this camera is overhyped. But you got some good shot with it. Its a very good documentary camera for everyday use. I sold the original X100 back in 2010s after few months and even gave it another chance with X100F and sold off after a few months. Maybe it is not for me.
Thank You! I'm looking for a camera for similar reasons; take everywhere and shoot more. My work body is a a7riv which is great but it's not fitting in a pocket anytime soon. I'm looking at the X70, XF10, Ricoh GRiii X-e4 w/pancake and X100v. How bad is the X100v for skiing specifically? Fits in a jacket or pant pocket w/o being too big of a lump? The GRiii wins this obviously but I don't think it's right for me.
Great video ... thanks! I had to wait seven months last year to take delivery of a new black X100V with black Fuji adapter/filter and hood. I wanted to up my iPhone photography game and the camera has been excellent. Still learning ... I've only just started using recipes ... that Portra 400 looks great ... I'll have to try it. One use that I had envisioned for the camera was to take it on my bicycle rides. Can you tell me what type of bag that you use to carry the camera on your bike? Is it a handlebar pannier like in the photo you showed? I ride a Giant Defy Advance Pro 3 carbon endurance road bike. Thanks again and greetings from a wintry Montreal!
hey! thanks so much, stoked to hear you've been loving this camera too! I have a top tube pack made by Apidura that this camera fits perfectly into. I also have cargo bib shorts with exterior leg pockets that I occasionally put it in, so many options for such a portable camera.
@@adamstevensvisuals Thanks ... I'm checking out your other uploads ... very interesting. I'm concerned about shock loads that the camera might be subject to on the bike ... do you use any extra padding in the top tube bag to cushion the camera?
@@GrenvilleMelonseedSkiff496 Nope, I pretty much beat this camera up, literally throw it into my ski pants pocket with no padding and ski all day - I'm sure it's fine on the bike, could throw a little microfiber towel in there or something for peace of mind though!
Sold my X100V & picked up a GR IIIx and 27mm for my X-E1 &X-E2. Most people who buy the X100 series don’t even use the functionality that is incremental to the X-E line. Don’t get me wrong.. check my videos.. love the X100 series. I just wasn’t using mine that much. X100V fits in a pocket but a GR disappears in a pocket. Both great. Whatever gets people out shooting.
Choosing your focal length for a specific shot: not creative. Being forced to use one focal length: creative. I agree that it unclutters your mind and gives a consistent feel to images. The zoom with your feet makes you a better photographer thing is an untrue trope (which isn’t even zooming, it is changing your perspective to reframe).
I think recipe is a fair term for what it is. A lot of people put their own spin on what is being emulated and is not so copy and paste as the term preset eludes to. But in fairness: recipe, preset, or simulation are all understood to mean one thing.
Hi, Paul, I see your perspective, and, usually, am wired to dial-in on precision of description, however, I’ll have to say, given the amount of “tastiness” in the images folks are getting from the X100V, I’m inclined to go with the food analogy and give the presets a more poetic place in the whole process. “Recipes”, again, for me, also connote an individualization/customization that closely parallels what happens when different cooks (photographers) make the same dish (photograph), only with their own spin, secret ingredients, etc. In the creative process, I love seeing non-linear, cross-pollination of disciplines and view this as just such an opportunity to expand the lexicon. 🙂
Thanks, interesting but that pointless background, annoying music with that drumming is really distracting. Your voice is great; it's all you need for your excellent video.
