Creepy Ghost stories has a similar yet different (in a good way) vibe to Lighthouse horror. good story telling, but without a ridiculous inflection that makes it feel like a sincere story from a normal guy. Dr Creepen is also good, but he is certainly an acquired taste.

I love how more often then not lighthouse sticks to the monster cryptid poltergeist stories rather then Sci-Fi alien stuff. Those classic monster style stories have always been my favorites

I tried to listen to Mr. Creeps because he had a lot of stories that were to my likings, but his voice, tone, intonation, and the way he stopped between sentences irritated me. I couldn’t stand 5 minutes into the story without being annoyed by all of that 😢.

Weird how I’ve heard of this story so many times but the delivery and uncanniness and risk to not show detail or cause or effect builds into its mystery and executed very well. The more mysterious and never explained creepy pastas in my opinion are the best and it always makes you second guess reality.

Absolutely amazing story!!! The novella type structure, with several short stories, works REALLY well. That final story gives me strong vibes of the 1982 film Creepshow, specifically the Something to Tide You Over story with the drowned zombies. If I had been a cop in that town, I'd have been gone so long before that final story lol. How many times can you go to a lake that's obviously haunted before you decide to, you know... quit and move to Mongolia lol.

Since no ones really talking about the story, I guess I shall It sounds like there's . . .something in the lake. It seems to have favorites (waves at officer) and seems to otherwise enjoy terrorizing the town. those that risk getting near are dragged away silly. Those that trespass disappear later. . . I wonder if they could appease it by just cordoning off the lake?

Very spooky, this one. Could be anything. Sirens, bean sìdhe, ghosts, or any number of cosmic terrors. And that's what makes it so good. There's a tendency for writers to fill in all the blanks, but sometimes the scariest thing is to prompt the reader to ask questions, then coyly refuse to answer.

I think I've listened to this video at least 10 times now 😅 I played strikes and quests while listening to it, then used my sewing machine listening to it, then cooked with it still going.
