At first I had a bit of a boomer mentality about speed runs, like "what's the point of it, play and enjoy the game" but I now really appreciate the creativity that goes into speedrunning. It's astounding what they can do. Of course we should appreciate the craftsmanship in videogames but there's a lot of fun in breaking them too! Shout out to when Jerma tried to speedrun the Bob the Builder game lmao
I'd suggest maybe watching Htman Trilogy speed runs. Glitches are very rare to see through the runs, most of it is just ultra insane ways of using the mechanics of the game, which aren't glitches but sometimes they can feel that way with how crazy they are. Like the current Paris level strat, you drop a bomb, then use another bomb to blow the first one onto the roof of the building on the other side of the map to a precise point, when you blow it up it drops a chandelier on the targets head, counting as an "accidental" murder. That might be confusing not knowing the game, but each level (21 in total) are done in around 1 minute each so t's not bad to just check out a few levels
Charlie generally doesn't like glitchless runs. He always says "that's just playing the game fast." All his speedrun challenges have been full of glitches.
@@sundaynightdrunkthats a terrible take but I'm not surprised. Speedrunning a game within the mechanical limitations put in place by the developers is a great way to show love for a game. Charlie speedruns games he doesn't care about, which is fine, but less admiral honestly.
@@daltons465 He did Elden Ring speedruns, one of his favorite games of all time, by his favorite developer, FromSoft, in his favorite genre, souls-like. He's done a ton of speedruns for games he professes to enjoy.
As soon as I saw FaZe Jev's vid on the speedrunning tech for this game, I knew Charlie wasn't far behind. He smelled the blood in the water. Another conquest for him.

Lol no it’s not, granny shifting is when you just push the clutch in, shift to desired gear, and then release clutch. Whereas double clutching is when you clutch in, shift to neutral, clutch out, clutch back in, shift to desired gear and release clutch. Double clutching mainly allows you to downshift at higher RPM’s as well as not being as rough on your clutch. No hate intended in this comment btw. P.S that line is from one of the Fast and Furious movies.

Didn't expect I'd see Moist speedrun this and be top for speeding it but I also didn't know the speedrun for this was like 2 mins, jesus that is short I didn't think the game could be that short.
Looks like he'd be top-10 if he ever logged his runs, but he doesn't. Love to see Charlie speedrun. Those are some of his most fun streams because he gets so animated and talkative.
I'm so glad this game came out when it did because the release justified an 85% discount on all of the previous titles and I managed to snatch all of them for under $10 on steam

When you jump down at 9:48 for example, can you turn mid-air? I don't play the controls in this game and I know there isn't aerial control, but maybe turning? Cause if you jump and turn to where you need to go, could save 1-2 seconds. Also kind of wondering if you can jump/fall sooner at the same point.

Right at the beginning when you clip through the wall, and drop down into the loading screen, would it not help you if you turned 180 degrees right before the loading screen so you would be facing the right direction when the out of map section loaded?
I feel like he should be at 1:41 because his timer kept going while the game was frozen but the WR run didnt have the timer running for that period because of load times and junk. Maybe I'm dumb but I feel it should be slightly faster
