fun fact! the guy who hit the werewolf with a newspaper is chester swain, the sims 3 supernatural parody of charlie swan from twilight. he lives with his daughter bailey, a supernatural enthusiast, and i absolutely do not know this because i married him twice during my playthrough

I kinda hope they bring back the cute interactions between occult Sims like how Spellcasters could throw their wands and play fetch with werewolf Sims or how vampires and werewolves could compare teeth

Let's be honest: the werewolves in the Sims 3 look EXACTLY like the werewolves from Teen Wolf, down to the glowy eyes.

Funnily enough, the werewolves from The Sims 3 seem more beastly when it comes to their behaviour than what I've seen in the trailer for the The Sims 4 game pack that's coming out? I don't know if I'm right about that, but the ones from 4 just seem a bit less like wild beasts and more like... well, people in a costume, basically? Their general appearance is just a lot friendlier looking to me.

The wedding pack is giving me doubts, but I REALLY hope werewolves in Sims4 is good 😭

the lore for the sims 3 supernatural world was incredible. it basically had a parody of every major supernatural related piece of media at the time. i dont think anything in sims 4 has had that level of detailed lore. the werewolves sure are goofy though bless em!

The best feature of open worlds which I believe is why it added so my depth to gameplay is that made you actually go to the ”boring” community lot types. Like in the sims 4, why should I sit through a loading screen to have my teen sim study at the library when I could just do it at home? Whereas in the sims 3, you would actually do stuff like that cause there were no loading screens so while your teen sim was studying with their school buddies at the library you could still focus on doing other stuff with other sims. What it means at the end of the day is that lot types without hands on gameplay never get used in sims 4, gyms, libraries and even museums and parks sometimes (you can only watch a kid play on a ship for so long before you’d feel like doing something else with another sim. Hence, in sims 3 you would just send your kid sim to the park maybe queue some interactions related to their current wishes and then let them autonomously play in the park while your finishing an opportunity with another sim etc)

Whenever we talk about occults in the sims 4, I get sad that the mermaids aren't as in-depth as the others

If they do another occult type after the werewolves pack I hope its a Fairy pack for sims 4

My favorite part of the sims 3 werwolves was the toddlers howling. Especially while they’re in the crib and they give the railing a shake

My standard Sims 3 household was witch, werewolf, fairy and a genie. The werewolves from that game were incredibly useful if you had someone with the alchemy skill in that family, but I always played with the lunar phases off because seeing them around the town was just incredibly jarring (and also because as a kid I was terrified of zombies). At some point I just gave up on trying to make the beast form look scary and just made them look like their normal self but with maxed muscles.

Glad to know I'm not the only one that's a little afraid of the quality of the werewolves in the new pack.

Aww, werewolves were one of my favourite occults in the Sims 3! Them and witches. Vampires and fairies just had excessively long lives, and ghosts and genies weren't my cup of tea. I liked the slightly extended lifespan of the werewolves, and the mechanics for collecting.

Actually, werewolves in The Sims 3 are slightly more than that. They have special (and so so cute) interactions with fairies and they work with witches pretty well because of the hunting options (they can look for potion materials). So if you're interested in supernatural sims - you can find some fun gameplay here and there

The semi open world concept is nice. I agree w what you said. Its pretty annoying going from the gym to the library and having to wait through a loading screen when im standing right next to the building

Personally i never minded lots being empty in The Sims 3, less trouble for me. If anything it annoys me a lot that whenever i visit a lot in The Sims 4 there's already like eighty people in it and i can't use the stations i need to use. Also being able to have a sim leave the house without interrupting everything else the family is doing is such an obvious necessity.

I'm honestly really excited for the sims 4 werewolves! I had The sims 3 Supernatural and although it was my favorite pack, I totally agree. The fact that they are doing those packs splited gives them way more time and resources to work at those occults better. I used to not be really into the werewolves in the sims 3, but now I really can't wait! Hopefully they'll release a fairy pack someday!!

i wasn't a fan of the idea of werewolves but the things they showed us already look amazing

As far as the open world goes I think the sims 4 desperately needs the ability to have multiple lots loaded, it seems like the perfect balance between open world and not too much lag

You've put it into perspective for me. Even though this gens werewolves are fursuits, they are the best looking werewolf form we have so far.

I'm *very* excited for werewolves in TS4, (also really looking forward to that clock, the moon light, the toddler bed and the possible telescope!). I've never played The Sims 3, but I was talking to my friend about the werewolves pack today (technically yesterday, the day this video came out) and he said they looked kinda bad (though he was talking about the cover art, and I showed him some of the stuff on Twitter and he liked that a lot better) and my thoughts are I'm going to show him Sims 3 werewolves

one of the only things that i enjoyed playing with werewolves was their interactions with horses, cats and dog, they had special interaction, especially with horses beside that, fairies were the best occult sims to play with: special interactions with plants; "levels of power"; tiny houses (like the doll ones) to sleep e drink a special nectar,; and, their time of life was the same as the vampires, but they could do things on the sunlight

I fully agree with the open neighbourhoods idea! I don't want a loading screen when I visit my neighbour, but I'm fine with a loading screen when I go to the gym. It would also help the massive amounts of lag the sims 3 always had.

i 100% believe that the sims 3 werewolves look like that bcs of mtv’s Teen Wolf. that’s exactly what they looked like in the show, it’s an amazing likeness. horrible, but exactly the same part of why i know that is bcs i 100% recreated all the teen wolf characters with sims 3 supernatural. it was my favorite pack of the sims 3, and probably one of my top fave sims packs ever. i love supernaturals in the sims, i love making my fantasy creatures go to work in a office, and have romance problems and unruly kids. and also have magic stuff happen. it’s just so fun to me. i can only hope we get fairies again- like you said, they were def the best part of the pack

I prefer that the occults are in separate packs. The team can work on them more in depth and individually, also you can kinda pick and choose what occults you want

I agree that, other than mermaids, the occults are much better in Sims 4. They have so much more gameplay and the skill trees are great. I think it's mainly nostalgia that people are feeling when it comes to previous Sims versions. I recently played Sims 3 after not playing it for years, and there are so many things that are so much worse than the Sims 4. With some tweaks (adding something more for teens especially) and bug fixes, Sims 4 could be the best of the franchise. Build mode alone is leaps and bounds ahead of the previous versions.

Honestly, I found the sims 3 werewolves the most boring occult out of the supernatural pack. And I like werewolves, but in the sims 3 they had nothing to do except transform, run around wrecking stuff, and eat raw food. Also yeah, they look weird. The bar is basically on the ground for the sims 4 to beat the sims 3, so as long as the pack actually functions (*knock on wood*), then by the trailers alone, I feel like they already have.

I used to love the supernatural pack and werewolves, i used to make them very family oriented with their children growing old marrying and still staying in the lot or doing "rituals" to transformer their new partners, it was really fun and i'm very excited for the new pack.

There is an interaction in the Sims 3 where if you're both werewolves, you can nuzzle each other. Its a really cute animation and I hope they bring something like that into the Sims 4.

I prefer the Sims 3 werewolves. They look more like werewolves you’d see in 80s-early 00s movies. The werewolves in Sims 4 look like furries… just people in costumes. The Sims 3 werewolves were definitely made to look more like pop culture werewolves, especially when the Twilight movies were coming out. So it just makes sense that they look more of a mix of wolf and human.

Honestly there are lots of parts in the sims 3 that are much better in the sims 4. Like there's only loading screen between neighbourhoods rather than lots and you could create your own swatches of everything.

Starting a petition for fairies in the sims 4

Ok, real talk now. Am I happy with how werewolves will look like in Sims 4? Kinda? I have mixed feelings, because they fit overall game style, but like many people said before me, they don't look as wolf-y as they should imo, more like weredogs or smth. But I'm really happy they ditched Sims 3 look of werewolves, cuz this was was a pure dumpster fire, they looked awful, they were basically people with mad facial expression, that spent too much time in preschool pretending to be dogs and now they still proceed as adults. However the most important things for me is that the game pack will actually work, unlike Wedding pack.

I'm Super excited! I have a lore file where I fill in the lore the S4 misses. It centers around occult game play and OG townies and lore. I hope it's done well like vampires and not broken when its available

I'm worried about how the werewolves are gonna work in actual game play, but I'm really excited to see all the Cas and build/buy items!!!

i loved playing with occult sims in sims 3, especially witches, fairies and werewolves. i feel like for one big pack with supernatural they did great, it was definitely worth it's price

I never played Sims 3 but from what I just saw I'm really hoping the Sims 4 werewolves have a tier system like vampires and spellcasters plus lots of lore. I'm ridiculously excited for them. I know they give off a Cats movie vibe but I think once everyone adjusts to them we won't think that. There seem to be a lot of customization which helps.

I am SO hyped for the werewolf pack! I hope we also still get a fairy pack (and maybe the magic jelly beans return in the fairy pack?)

My first Sims game was TS2, and while I remember Sims 3 coming out, my parents refused to buy it for me (understandable, since I had been collecting Sims 2 DLCs) so I ended up not buying TS3 until about a year before Sims 4 came out. I bought *almost* all the EPs at once, and played it on a sad laptop that certainly couldn't handle it. So my only Sims 3 memories are pain and suffering.

I am sooo excited for this pack. Definitely been waiting years for werewolves. Supernatural was my favorite pack in Sims 3. My sister and I created an occult household, so we have been talking about what we are going to do with the werewolf girl that we are going to make.

Yep, I confess I *am* very excited for the werewolves pack. I'm holding off on buying it until I see all the Content Creator reviews, but I have a feeling that this pack is going to be well-made, so I'm counting on purchasing it soon after launch. Also, I think the Sims 4 werewolves look FANTASTIC (definitely better than any previous iteration, certainly!) and I can't wait to get into the game and create one!

As a kid, I used to lock up my werewolves during the full moon, not because I didn't want them to turn anyone, I just thought they could kill people. Same with zombies.

I hope they add the jellybean tree in a fairy pack. I loved playing a fairy and I can imagine how pretty the world would be in Sims 4.

when i played the sims 3 i exclusively played w the occult types, BUT i never did anything w them except have my sims be them. i did not even realise it was THAT easy to make other sims werewolves, otherwise i would have done it a lot more. i used to just make occult families with fairies being my go-to occult followed by i think vampires maybe? but that one only bc they came w one of the first packs of sims 3 lol like the sims 3 occult types were not fleshed out well enough to be any more than minor details hence why i never bothered not playing w occults aha

I'm really glad that I can get the taste of occults now 😂 I haven't had the chance to experience those when I had The Sims 3 for xbox not pc unfortunately lol so I didn't get the chance to experience it. Now I can and I'm super excited for werewolves 🐺

I've played with The Sims 3 Werewolves, and I feel that The Sims 4 might handle them better aesthetically. However, I did enjoy how werewolves worked in The Sims 3; they were pack-based and had fun social interaction options. I made a pack that was great at hunting for items so that I didn't need my Sim to work anymore. Those were fun times.

I played Werewolves in the Sims 3 . I Loved the Supernatural pack when it came out. The Sims 3 was an every day game play for me. 😂 I’m looking forward to Werewolves on the Sims 4 and what game play it will provide. And I’m looking forward to see the reaction of vampires to the werewolves. Also looking forward to see your gameplay with it.

I played with werewolves all of one time in Sims 3, which is a shame because I love werewolves. Your video DID remind me of the future expansion pack though, I absolutely adored that pack. Can't wait to see the Sims 4 werewolves, whether they're weird or cool, I'm excited either way

I think at the least the werewolves in 4 are actually going to look like wolves and not just more feral humans, and I like that! The one annoying thing I always encountered in the supernatural Sims 3 pack is the gosh dang full moon zombies. Just annoying when you're trying to live your life.

funny, because I never had the issue in the sims 3 of being alone on a community lot. I remember that once you came to a community lot, other sims started to come there as well (if it´s at a reasonable time xD), I really miss the open world. I would even take fully open neighborhoods, so that the kids can go to the playground or a friends house while the others are at home and you can still play with every single sim

I loved playing with werewolves in The Sims 3, but I always thought they looked pretty underwhelming due to just being humans with extra hair and some sharp teeth. Also, they just weren't that special either. Like you said towards the end of this video: "That's it". This might be a hot take, but I prefer how they look in The Sims 4. And I'm not just saying this because I'm a furry. I feel like, with this design, you can potentially do so much more with them. Also, because they're now part of their own game pack, they could potentially be much more interesting to play with. :D

honestly i really prefer the sims 3 style of werewolves? similarly to our ability to have vampires look a bit scarier and cool the new werewolves just seem too doglike rather than wolf-like and i worry itll ruin the feel of certain types of gameplay where a werewolf would be this cool and scary shapeshifting sim into… simply just a large dog walking on two legs? although maybe my nostalgia and love for the sims 3 is just bleeding into my opinion so im holding out hope that itll grow on me when i start playing

Lets be honest here, they look the best in the series, yet still a bit too human like but way better than TS2 and TS3, and probably even TS1. Gameplay wise, I hope their either as good or better than Vampires, yet with the Wedding pack with bugs galore, I have high doubts on this pack. Again, visually they look the best, but still a bit too human looking, they probably just need longer snouts and paw feet. Weirdly none of the werewolves are wearing shoes, yet the feet are the same mesh as a normal sim's foot, seems like animal like feet might've been a cut thing.

In TS4 one of the harvestables is wolfsbane. I wonder if there might be any changes to it to specifically effect werewolves? Would be neat if so, considering both garlic and plasma fruit effect vampires.

Me personally, I just did not like the werewolves at all in TS3, I hated how they looked. Cause when I think of werewolves, I don’t think of hairy humans who look like they have rabies and several other diseases, and have a face that makes them look like they’re constantly getting a whiff of someone’s fart. I think of vicious, grotesque, covered in fur; wolves. Sure, the Sims 4 werewolves don’t look super vicious, and the human-like legs are friggin weird, but I’m really in favor of the fact they allowed usage of the paint tool for the wolves coats. That was a smart move, cause the possibilities are endless with this kind of tool.

Sure in CAS they look pretty human-ish but ingame they had very intimidating walking animation and they had a lot of personality in interactions that made them both goofy and scary. I hope Sims 4 will have a similar contrast like that, if the walking animations are different from normal walking, I'll be happy.

I would be a little surprised if there wasn't some kinda of were-llama joke or something in the new pack. They really went into the whole llama thing in cottage living. So it'd be nice if there was something.
