Alyssinwonderland I've become so numb to what people say that I don't really think anything of it when people assume I'm great at math (which I'm not, I almost failed last year) or that I play piano or violin (piano) or that I'm Chinese (which I am, but not all Asians are) Now people say horribly racist things and sometimes I don't even realize it's racist, I just laugh because if I was offended every time someone said something racist to me, I would be offended every day of my life.

Why is this such a common issue for Asian people to be categorized as chinese? There is absolutely no chance that you could sort a group of white Europeans to the country which they were born with or sort a group of Africans to their country. I feel like in the U.S. when someone says they're Asian, we automatically assume Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc. or any other "-ese" type countries. But in the U.K., Asian is more likely to be affiliated with Pakistani, Indian, Bengali, etc...

I'm Asian, but I don't have squinted eyes. I'm Asian, but I don't get straight As. I'm Asian, and I don't plan to be a doctor. I'm Asian, and I don't eat rice every day ( I eat it often, but not everyday ) I'm Asian, and I enjoy other countries' foods just I as I enjoy my culture's food. Nathan Prado They run rampant like a nasty disease here in Los Angeles. They want Asians like we're Pokemon or some exotic creature. They usually say stuff like ''oh I'm so into your culture! i learned a few words of Japanese from google translate. And watch anime and gay asian porn'' they usually have asian characters in their name... and are usually whiter than Alaskan snow. I avoid them like the worst of plagues.

Being asian is harder than it seems. We get offensive jokes thrown at us all the time, but when we say it back, it just sounds racist. For me, putting on eyeshadow is hard. We get stereotyped to be nerds, and so much more! We're not really considered "popular", and we're not usually the main protagonist of movies. So be happy you're Irish!

Yeah but they get different names and are actually spread over 2 continents. I think an Egyptian and a Lebanese have more in common than that same Egyptian and someone from Sub Saharan Africa or the Lebanese compared to someone from east Asia. So we call them Arabs, a category of their own.

I say no for the 1567th time. And then I say, I'm not a twin with my bestfriend who is Asian, I am not related to her AT ALL! Anyone in the school that is Asian is not always my siblings. I'm Asian and I don't like people just judging people by their skin colours. I hate people joking about a serious topic. I'm Asian AND I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN PEOPLE JUST STARE AT ME AS IF I'M A PAINTING AT THE MUSEUM. I don't like my self thinking that they hate me. That happened to me ALLL The times. They just treat me different because we don't have much Asians at the school. I'm Asian and I'm not out- going but, please. Just atleast once, treat Asians the same. Don't stare at them, don't laugh at them, don't call all your other friends and then whisper behind and Asian's back and then start laughing. Don't treat Asians Differently. I'm Asian, and I'm going into the medical field I'm Asian, and I can play the piano I'm Asian, and I was top set maths and science in secondary school I'm Asian, and I love anime (Though I don't see why the above is relevant and a stereotype) But I also love dance, have great friends, am quite loud, sometimes emotional, sometimes emotionless, love ice skating, love singing, playing games on my 3DS, love reading, have an interest in gothic themes......... The list goes on. The way I look doesn't define me. I'm Vietnamese, but I don't speak my language or know anything about it. It's not a crime. It's just me.
