Great to see you looking trim and tidy Kimber, and clearly in a better place. Very interesting to see the face mill chewing through that Alu, I saw a bit of table wobble so I'm not sure if that is play in the lead screw nut or just a bit of flex. Making good progress. Cheers
Here's a little dose of practicality : cut those pieces down to the 'hex' with your bandsaw . . .* THEN you'll have 4 pieces to chew into floor sweepings ! YIKES - that head going out of tram THAT MUCH , could have caused a MAJOR "UNSATISFACTORY " event to happen - imagine the cutters going deeper & deeper without any "CONTROL" ! ! ! ( although you were making 'straight cuts' , the cutter would follow an ARC , as it cut deeper - - - 'could'a' caused a real "BIND" ! Glad you had time to mess in the shop some . . . you'll be able to make some artsy / fartsy paperweight, or 'hidey hole' to thread & make a cap for . . . ( THEN forget where you put your STASH ! ) HAVE FUN !
