This is just one side of the story. Many people have paid dues in the Big 4 and gone on to jobs paying $500k-$1MM in FAANG, private equity, and C suite jobs in the Fortune 500. You can still earn a lot going the corporate route and just do content creation for fun. Taking the leap to do it full time is highly risky and far fewer people succeed at it compared to those that went the corporate route.

Looks cool but I question putting an outdoor cinema when you're right next to rice fields. You're going to be an absolute magnet for mosquitos with the light of the projector on the wall at night and the bodies there watching.

I feel like it wasn’t that long ago where you were showcasing the roaches in some of the frumpy motel rooms and now, a handful of girlfriends later, you’re fulfilling all your dreams. What an amazing story-Congratulations!

Matt, love the idea of building the Lost community. Perhaps the marketing of the one-night beds should be for other content creators who are already in Bali and would want to travel in for a day or two. I can envision a workshop or coaching option as a way to add to the business model. I wish you great success on this. It looks fantastic.

I was 100% commited to the military and security.... I knew since I was a child I knew filming and photography but took care of my more when my dad left. Now I'm out and set.... I want to show the world through my vision and have looked up travel for 6 years now. What an undertaking. Most people would take 8 to 12 months to do something on this scale - 30 days is freaking impossible but you seem to be doing it. Good luck with everything and remember to get some downtime.

This is honestly so much cooler than what all the other travel vloggers/influencers are doing in Bali - buying land, building another more-of-the-same villa, and renting that out. So cool!!!!

My only comment is to make sure the dorm room has ample storage. Theres an lovely place in Canggu called Nyaman House, aesthetically its superb, very co working friendly, social. But the dorm rooms are a real sticking point, when i was visiting a friend there all their bags are sprawled across the floor and items laying out, because they just didnt have a section for storage...so i would say storage is key alongside the showers maybe having sections where people can keep their individual products. The key to functional interiors is everything needs to have a place, and it will then have a place :) Looking forward to seeing your dream come to fruition!

To move the outlets that needs no little work, you need some construction workers and electricity guys for that.

i remember the first bunk bed type hostel, atteh rear of teh old Bintang supermarket....Naive backpackers perhaps stayed for a few nights until they realised the y could get there own room, in a Kos style and experience some real Bali vibes, and even bring a friend back, as its private!!, heaven forbide!! for 150 200 a night, things havent changed,so much i wish you luck but seems a bit of a wank, when you can get a solid own room for 3 juta still in many places.......
