ESPN’s baseball coverage is unwatchable. These people know very little beyond the obvious and bring zero credibility since none of them have any experience in the game. This is not even at the level of lunch room chatter at the office, let alone being on TV.
@@mouseinthehouse_tbf, Smoltz has a ton of experience and dude is wrong like 80% of the time about his takes and predictions. Being a former professional player honestly tends to not have a big impact on how well you can analyze the game. Best analysts tend to not be star players imo.
the dodgers pitching and defense has been ridiculous. were it not for yamamoto's misplaced pitch to soto in game 2, he would have left the game with an no-hitter.
The series should be tied 1-1, The Yankees lost this series in game 1. Aaron Boone failed. Jake Cousins failed and Nester Cortez failed. Boone made wrong pitching selection.
If the Yankees got a hit with the bases loaded one out top of the 9th, if Torres didn’t let Shotime take third in game 1, if that hr wasn’t touched by the fan, if Boone didn’t pull Cole early or put in a pitcher who didn’t pitch in over a month, if that pitcher didn’t throw right down the middle with the bases loaded ect..
@@Jkev24How cool would it be if the Yankees went down 0-3 and came back and won like Boston did to them. I have no dog in this fight I just want a good series and walkoff grandslam was awesome.
Judges sorry ass should be traded I’m sorry the Yankees r about championships and with judge you will not win one they would get a lot for him if they traded him
If Mets can't beat the Dodgers, there is no way the Yankees can. For the Yankee fans who want to argue, Mets beat the Yanks 4-0 this year in the subway series.
@@bxkid16this is the yankees chance and they going to lose…next year the Astros will be back to sweeping them out of the playoffs while Judge continues to suck in the playoffs
Except that when it comes to Judge in October, its not just this series against the Dodgers. He can’t hit against any team or any pitcher in October, unless its the Twins.
I am with Stephen A on this, if Yankees lose tonight, they are getting swept. because then tomorrow it will 9 innings and 9 Different pitchers. so lets Go Dodgers 🔵⚪
They won’t be swept, even if they did lose tonight. People tend to forget that the Dodgers have their familiar collapses when they’re up in the series and they wind up choking. Let’s not forget that!
@@trustnoone3007 you’re right they won’t be swept if the dodgers win tonight you’re right about that but it is a high chance they would be the last time a team came back from an 0-3 lead was back in 2004 which was the Red Sox and Yankees but its hard to comeback from a 3-0 lead if the Mets couldn’t beat the dodgers because they were a good team when it came to comebacks i don’t see the Yankees coming back an 0-3 deficit if the dodgers win tonight
@@trustnoone3007is that even a baseball comment or just pure haterism & evil comment?! Keep your frustration out of what is after all just a Game Homie!!! 🙌🏼Lets Go Dodgers🙌🏼
@@icapone5120 Don’t hide if the Dodgers collapse again lol. I keep tabs on people who say these comments, but then hide when things don’t go their way.
Even if we lose, Judge needs to wake up. Go down figthing.. if he doesn't show up, fans wont forgive that easy.. his regular season homers will be meaningless.. take away his MVP status.. this is unacceptable..you hit or else..
HELL NO. This is his first postseason ever. He doesn't even have 23 total AB with RISP these playoffs. The stat that you saw, which I saw as well, is that he's 19 for his LAST 23 with RISP, going back to the regular season.
Steven A Smith knows zip about baseball. He listens to what other analysts say and then he parrots what they have analyzed lol..Once I saw that guy box in some RU-vid video I knew I could never take him serious again 🤭
Judge is gonna match Stanton's energy and there gonna get two straight in the Bronx and even this series up and anything can happen then. Judge is just too great
@@chazzx1018 Ohtani non factor?🤔 Have we forgot his triple run then tie the game that went to extra inning. Also, fly out on 10th inning let the runner go 3rd and 4th base and made Yankees to walk off Mookie and lead Freeman to smash that beautiful walk-off grand slam. Without his triple run and tie, this would have been 1-1 series by now.
As a Yankees fan, at the beginning of the post season, I didn't expect to make it to the World Series although I knew it was possible, and wouldn't even have been surprised if we'd lost to Kansas City. After those two series went so well, even despite Judge, my hopes of winning the WS inflated- I now realize, beyond what was realistic. Now that's falling back down to Earth and I'm remembering who this team is. This is the team we saw for the entire middle of the season, except worse because even Judge is bad. The only hope now is that they suddenly become the team they were in May.
I wish baseball got more coverage throughout the whole playoffs from this type of platform. So many good players and matchups that could’ve been displayed as well. San deigo vs Los Angeles was a great series as well
Boone should pull a Torre and move judge behind Stanton, in 03 Torre moved giambi lower in the lineup he was struggling so bad and in game seven he hit two of the biggest home runs in that game
To summarize Boone's mistakes in Game 1: 1. Pinch ran Dominguez for Torres at second with two outs. Didn't end up mattering. However, Cabrera later came in to play second, and didn't make a play Torres likely would have made. 2. Pulled Weaver after just 19 pitches to start Cousins in the 10th. 3. Put in Nestor Cortes, a starter who hasn't pitched in five weeks, to get out at least the leftie Ohtani with the game on the line, instead of Tim Hill, who is literally in the roster for the explicit purpose of getting lefties out in big situations. 4. Walked Betts just because he's a righty and Freeman a leftie, even though Betts was 0 for 5 against Cortes, and Freeman was 8 for his last 13 against lefty pitchers with the bases loaded, including 3 grand slams. Yeah, some players messed up, including Torres, Cousins, and Soto a little. But one has much more control over decisions.
YANKEES are getting ambush. The DODGERS are so loaded that the pitching that has shit them down so far excldues the TOP 4 ACES in the DODGERS line up all injured. GLASSNOW GONSELLIN RYAN and OHTANI are not piching this series. Unless GERRIT COLE pitching tonite wait till you see what happens to score board. Amd BHUELER who coming back from injury …. Well just watch.
Yo’, ma’ girl Jessica Mendoza over here broadcasting from the basement, no backdrop, no green screen, no good lighting… cmon ESPN, prep your best analysts with something more than an iPhone FaceTime call. SMH!
As a pro, you have to trust your swing, but when you’re slumping you have to change something up. Judge should move away from the plate. He keeps missing the ball under his hands but above the barrel. Take a stanton approach those outside balls will look even more outside and you wont swing at them
It was fielding error in game 1 of the 8th inning on Ohtani's double, gave him an extra 90ft and scoring on a sacrifice fly, costed the Yankees the game. Final score would have been 2-1 Yankees had Ohtani stayed in 2nd base.
Let me tell you something. Seeing a Yankees fan like Stephen A, in this type of position bring great joy to my heart. I grew up hating the Yankees and to be up 2-0 in the fashion that we are.... IS A DREAM COME TRUE.
SA ain't lying. I'm a life long Yankee fan and tonight is the night. Nobody wants to go to court, nobody ever wants to see the JUDGE! Let's go Yankees!
I have zero issue with nestor being put in. I have a huge issue with walking Betts to load bases when he hasnt hit well to that point. Chancing a base hit and having an empty bag is better than loading the bases where a base hit can drive in one or more runs... At least you have a chance if you pitch to Betts.
I hate it when these sports pundits start talking about baseball as if it's like football or basketball and act like star players can singlehandedly carry teams to championships. It's insufferable to listen to because it demonstrates a gross lack of knowledge of the reality of the sport and how good major league pitching is nowadays.
they dont even cover football right. its about Aaron rodgers, lebron, the cowboys and now caitlin clark. their football coverage is trash and all about disney storylines in my opinion
Stephen a smith is such a big Yankee fan he didn't even know the batting order and where Soto and judge hit after more than half a season was over.

Aaron Judge is at 617" a very big man, and big men have a tendency to go over the hill early. A good example of this from long ago was the heavy hitting Baltimore Orioles first baseman, Boog Powell.
If the dodgers get Soto to after winning this World Series they might very well have a dynasty. You can’t pitch around that kind of an order, you got mookie, ohtani, freeman, then add Soto to that with all their pitchers returning and improving in the off season thats a very hard team to beat… there would be so many home runs.
Stephen A. As someone who actually watches Yankee games it has been depressing to watch THE 🧑⚖️ struggle like this but you don’t actually care about baseball at all. It’s extremely cringey to see you talk about this and never invite any actual players or anyone to speak because they all reject you and your opinions of the sport. He has been historically great the last few seasons and needs to figure it out in order to avoid personal failure. Don’t decide to comment on the Yankees or Aaron Judge only when it’s time to pile on.
Remember Barry Bonds did what the Judge is doing when he was with the Pirates, he is certainly beating himself up , he,ll come out of it , he a superstar MLB player.
I really think ESPN should just drop baseball if they are only going to “cover it” during the WS and bring “the experts” to vomit some words without knowledge.
the best analyst we can get for the WORLD SERIES featuring the YANKEES AND DODGERS is a softball player? no disrespect, but damn, can we at least get someone who's played in the world series?
Listen, Playoff baseball is notoriously tough on great hitters because of the style of pitching today. He's getting MOSTLY breaking balls because they don't care if he walks. HE just has to make the adjustment, I HATE when Yankee fans act this way
Using Nestor, walking Betts, and groving a fastball in Freeman's danger zone? Sad. -- It's like the Yankees pitchers don't adjust or do extra study on th batters "cold zones, hot zones" at all, at least with the other teams' top 3 hitters for the playoffs. Knowing their weak spots, how to strike them out, etc. Conversely, watching every other team they play in the playoffs changes strategy and don't give Yankees hardly any good pitches if they don't have to.
They never should have walked Betts to put the winning run at second with just a base hit! Cortez should never have been the guy in after being out for 5 or 6 weeks.
Stephen A doesn't get to talk when he ignored baseball all season and the playoffs but now the Yankees are down 2-0 he does what he always does and come with the not asked for opinions on what occurred. Greenberg at least talks about his jets years after year all year and doesn't just talk when they make the playoffs and championship
Boils down to experience. A core of the Dodgers were around in 2017 and beyond for the WS, including Dave Roberts. Who on the current Yankees roster has WS experience besides Soto (a talking point for the announcers)? Their manager is in his first WS. Dave is in again and again, and widely criticized for his choices in past attempts, and now we see some sort of a master class of pitching management from him. This is our year. We win bullpen games as well. Good luck tonight against Buehler.
