"ahh i gotta watch the third one" sums this show up perfectly. you cant stop.

Every time I watch a new reactor to this show, I'm surprised at how much foreshadowing there is in these early episodes. It's in almost every scene and conversation. Anyway, our reactor is getting hooked. This show does that to you.

6:00 does Tyrion know what happened? Look at that scene as Tyrion having a feeling that Jaime and Cersei were involved based on how they didn’t console the Starks after Bran fell. Tyrion already put two and two together based on the way they’re acting, and is trying test his hypothesis by cornering Jaime with words like “I can’t wait to see what the boy has to say.” Then Jaime reveals that he was involved when he says “i question whose side you’re on brother.” So the whole scene is Tyrion looking at their reactions to see if he’s right, and Jaime hints that he’s responsible early in that conversation. It’s a beautiful piece of dialogue using subtext especially around the children.

Everyone was talking about this Game of Thrones show, so I went to the library and got season 1 on DVD. I spent the next ten hours watching TV. This show is made for binging if you ask me.

Chess is so much fun once you find your rhythm. It can be frustrating when you're learning, but you'll love it.

There's a lot of history of the past that you have to pick up on as they tell their stories, but it's all very interesting. Watching the history and lore videos after each season is a good idea for that.

The names and everything will eventually click and fall into place. Till then, taking notes isn’t a bad idea. It is a lot to keep straight at first. Great video.

The convo you’re unsure about: The king and Ned Stark were talking about Danaeres Targeryan. Her brother wants to take the throne back that the king has. So the King feels threatened that she married the Kal and now has an army to attack the kingdom. Ned Thu is it’s ridiculous to be threatened by a child especially since they are SO far away

I love how a lot of reactors seem to feel the way I did when watching for the first time in that I got more upset or angry over the wolf being killed over most of the humans that get killed.

Don't stress over not getting everyone's name down, or all the places memorized, etc. It took most of us a couple seasons before we finally remembered who everyone and where everything is. The show was actually better the 2nd time I watched it for that exact reason lol, especially those first few seasons.

Brave that you are getting into this show, but I must admit..... it is an excellent show to get into. And congrats on your unlocked skill talent of chess. I tried teaching my two nephews and one niece how to play chess, and they never took hold of it like you have.

You're right to say there's a lot of Lore, Customs, Religions, Social norms etc. Its a lot to take in at first. But it does get easier.

yep. same happened to me when i saw this. saw one episode i had to watch the next and then the next. This show is going to trigger you hard if your triggered already. I also didnt get used to all the character names until i re watched the first few seasons. I saw the whole show 2 times. Once in english alone and once in spanish with some friends i wanted to show it too. They also got hooked.

The first season has a bit of a slow start and there’s a ton going on at all times. The books are written in a similar manner where you get one characters perspective then it jumps to someone else across the world.

I really believe that people should rewatch the first few episodes. There's just SOOOOOO much to take in that it can be brain overload. But after the 1st initial WTH the show does a good job of introducing the other characters at a better pace. AND THERE IS A LOT OF THEM!!! The books even more so, by like 100 fold. It really is no wonder why it's taken GRRM so long to get these last 2 books written. The world he's created is just SOOOOOOO immense and and immersive. I just hope he's doing with these last 2 books like he had done with the previous 2 and writing them at the same time. So hopefully when the next book comes out he is like 40-50% done with the last one.

Here's something depressing: George RR Martin has been working on the next book in the series since the year this TV show started. Thirteen years later, the series has long concluded and the book is still nowhere near finished. It's the penultimate in the series. Given that Martin is going to turn 76 this year, it's a safe bet that the final book in the saga is never going to be published.

En concreto hay un MEGA spoiler que si quieres ver la precuela te recomiendo omitir, no recuerdo exactamente en qué capítulo estaba pero creo que era 3º temporada, ya lo miraré para decirte exactamente en qué capítulo y lo mejor es que te pasen el vídeo sin esos 15 o 20 segundos.

If being mad at characters is genuinely triggering (rather than simply upsetting) you, there are several very famous episodes of this show that you will not be able to handle.

If you plan on watching the History and Lore videos, please watch them at the BEGINNING of the season. There are no spoilers in them and the information in them is useful in the season you are watching. It is not so useful after the season is over. If you had watched the History and Lore for Season 1 first, you would have had a lot fewer questions. For example, the first one covers the story of Robert's Rebellion and how he became the king.

Will you be reacting to the extra content? Obviously at the appropriate moments to avoid spoilers. But there's really some great extra content out there. Coldplay's Game of Thrones musical for starters...I believe that fits in after Season 3. And other videos I can't talk about without spoiling stuff but one of them concerns a "math" equation. There's also the History of Westeros videos if you REALLY want to geek out but maybe not the best reaction material.

About names and characters, without spoiling or anything and keeping it simple (as much as possible). There are Starks (like Ned Stark), Lannisters (like Cersei and Jaime, or Tyrion, they also have a dad Tywin lol), and Baratheons (like king Robert Baratheon, or Bobby B, his has 2 brothers which is important). There are also Targaryens, like Daenerys and her idiot brother, and they are currently across the Narrow Sea on the continent called Essos. So, again, without going into details, and spoiling, Targaryens ruled the 7 Kingdoms on a continent called Westeros, with a capital city King's Landing (Westeros is to the West, very original, like Essos - to the East). But at some point 17 years ago some events happened involving Bobby B (Robert Baratheon), his buddy Ned Stark and Ned Stark's sister whom Bobby B was supposed to marry (arranged marriages, I know). This all involved prince Rhaeghar Targaryen, brother of Dany and Viserys the idiot brother. So BobbyB, being a knight in shining armor that he is (not really, no), went to war against Targaryens, specifically against daddy Targaryen the Mad King Aerys Targaryen. Long story short, for some alliance reasons, Ned marries his wife, Catelyn Tully, leaves to war with BobbyB. They win the war, Ned's sister dies, BobbyB marries Cersei because "gotta do it for politics", Ned returns home with Jon Snow, his bastard son, and starts making kids (Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran). Everything is cool and fine, until Ned's and BobbyB's mentor Jon Arryn dies, and the story you're watching begins (and yes, somewhere there Dany and her idiot brother escaped to Essos before/slightly after Robert won, while Rhaegar died in war, and Aerys also died, so they are the last Targaryens).

Sansa (Aria's sister/Ned's eldest daughter) in her innocence has known due to her family's status as Lord's of the North (Winterfell) that her bloodline could very well lead to her being royalty and in particular a queen some day. Of course being a child she romanticizes this ideal as many young girls do reading fairytales, and of course her father and mother have tried to raise her in such a way as not to further facilitate this fantasy notion too much. But the reality of this time and place is that the elite did marry off their sons and daughters to marry together royal families, so all involved - Ned and Katelyn Stark, King Robert, Queen Cersei etc. - know that while Sansa might dream that such a fantasy might come true in her juvenile innocence, the "adults" in the room all know that this will eventually become a "stark" reality, but not something any of them would wish upon their children or anybody for that matter. And with this "duty" she will have to live out her life being faithful in every way possible to the husband she is married off too...not to be faithful to him just for her own benefit, but also for the benefit of her family, her community and her kingdom. And even as a child Sansa instinctively knows this. So when the incident happened with Aria, the butcher's boy and Joffrey, Sansa in her romantic mind immediately stood up for "her man" at the time. But then when everyone was dragged in front of the King she sobered up to the reality that there were going to be repurcussions...but she at this point cannot choose a side. She knows the truth and probably would have told the King the truth...if Robert Baratheon wasn't actually the King and Joffrey wasn't going to be her likely future husband and the future King. But Joffrey would eventually be King so she has not just a duty to protect her future husband, but also protect herself for her own self-preservation. With taking the prudent choice to preserve her life and future it was best NOT to betray her prince lest he hold it against her and the family in the future. So instead of telling the truth she lied and said "she didn't see anything". Yeah...from our perspective it was a cvnt thing to do to her sister, and in the end she paid a massive price when the punishment got flipped and it was her wolf that got sacrificed in an ironic fashion, but thinking this through she needed to do what she did because she is caught up in "the Game" of politics now and she knows it even at her naive and stupid age. But as you will see she learns the game fast.

Some recaps of the interaction between Ned (short for "Eddard") Stark and King Robert Baratheon you were asking about. This was a topic that King Robert brought up, having to do with Ned's "bastard" son, named Jon Snow, who Ned brought back to Winterfell from King's Landing when Ned accompanied Robert the first time he went down to help Robert take over the throne.... Note 1: the surname "Snow" is applied to children borne out of wedlock rather than them carrying the last name of the father. This is why Ned had earlier told Jon when Jon was leaving Winterfell to join "the Black" "you will always be a Stark". Note 2: joining "the Black" was also another way of saying that someone was joining the "Night's Watch" up at Castle Black at "the Wall" bordering the north separating the 7 kingdoms from the "beyond North" where the Wildings exist (another tribe of people) as well as where the "Whitewalkers" previously existed and now are only rumored to still exist. ...so King Baratheon was trying to tell Ned not to be too hard on himself for betraying his wife Katelyn by fathering Jon Snow out of wedlock, justifying it by saying is "was during war, where none of us knew if we'd ever get back home again". Ned didn't really want to talk about this subject, even as King Robert started asking Ned about who the mother was and what she looked like, by telling Robert "that he'd never tell him about what she looked like. Of course this comes across as Ned feeling shame for his actions. The other subject broached during this conversation was the Raven's message delivered to them from King's Landing, advising that "the Targaryan girl" (Daenyres Targaryan) had married a Dothraki king (or Khal). Dothraki live and travel in various hordes, also known as "Khalasars", and the wife of a Khal is referred to as "Khaleesi" (note: this is not necessarily a similar status with the Dothraki as a queen might have from the 7 kingdoms, and this status is not retained if the Khal eventually dies. Some Khaleesis might not even be respected by other different "bloodrider" tribesmen from other Khalasars). It is important to note that King Robert became king when the "Mad King" who had been sitting on the Throne was murdered by Jaime Lannister, the brother of Cersei Lannister who was married to Robert. They together took over the throne. The "Mad King", also known as King Aerys, or King Aerys Targaryan II was thought to be the last Targaryan alive until it became known that Daenyres existed. Since it was discovered she existed, and being that there were no male Targaryan's alive, that she had a legit claim (at least under the so-called "laws" of the 7 kingdoms) to be the actual heir to the throne of the 7 kingdoms, and that one day she might come back to claim that throne and rally the people against Robert if they backed her. In addition there are myths that the Targaryan bloodline were that of dragons and could breed real dragons, or at least tame and control, dragons against their enemies. Both these considerations regarding the Targaryans and Daenyres frighten King Robert which is why he was talking to Ned about taking out Daenyres, which offended Ned's sensibilities because "she was just a child" and supposedly no threat to King Robert as the Dothraki and her were in a far off land an ocean away and the Dothraki will not sail the oceans and don't have any ships.
