I lived in Detroit until about this time last year. My wife and I are flying back up to Detroit this weekend. The first thing on my to-do list after we land is "get Detroit style Chinese food". I seriously miss it so much.

Next time you go to an Asian restaurant, I recommend that you do it the way most Asians eat their white rice. Thoroughly mix everything together. The glaze honey sauce from the chicken will be quickly absorbed into each grain of rice and add extra flavor to the rice. Ask the restaurant for a side order of their sauce. White rice by itself taste a bit bland, even though it does have a lot of protein. If you go ever to a Korean restaurant, take the side order of kimchi and mix it in thoroughly with the white rice. It's absolutely out of this world!

Go-to Chinese combo- Cashew Chicken w/ fried rice and either egg roll or cream cheese wonton. There's a strip mall in a nearby town here that has a smoke shop, gas station, and a liquor store that also sells bait and sporting goods. The sign on the outside says, "Bullets, Bait, and Beer." Talk about one-stop shopping!

😂 that is not the best chinese food in Detroit. Go to Golden Harvest in Warren, Chan zhou in Madison heights, or East Long Lake in Rochester Hills. Those are all the best authentic chinese food.

The El Ligero and Raggedy Ass are so tasty from Griffin Claw! 🍻 We are lacking in really good Chinese takeout here. A couple of places are terrible, a couple are meh, but get the job done. 🥡🥡I don't ask for much: General Tsos. Fried rice. Easy peasy.
