Two years ago you'd have never caught me fishing, I thought it was a boring hobby so didn't bother. I'm about a year into the habit now and I've been so much more content and happy in my work life since, less stressed all the time and I love every minute I get to spend on the bank whether float or lure fishing. I blanked for the first 7 months but didn't give up (October to April without a single fish!) and eventually started to catch as I learned more about tackle, line and techniques. The wife even got involved and came float fishing with me in the summer months with my youngest son, and we have made some truly special memories together :). Fishing really is a game changer and I hope you continue to spread this message and hopefully bring a few more out of the doldrums before they take over, and fingers crossed your peg picks up cause it really does look like heaven 😅 tight lines 👍🎣
Same here mate. I thought the same but love it 2 years in. Me and my lad go togrther too. If you enjoy the float try and do some feeder fishing with pellets. Catch some cracking fish on them

Its helping my mental health immensely, and my younger son's mental health at the same time. We go down the canal most days, we blank a lot of the days😂 but we talk and laugh all the time we are down there 😊 I love your videos! You have given me so many tips snd advice through watching them. Historically before electronic bite alarms, anglers fishing nights had to put the rod in their bottom as a source of bite indication. That's why it's called 'the butt' end of the rod to this day. Great video & great message chaps! ❤
Hey tom and shawn i am a 13 year old angler and just wanted to thank you for all you do and all the funny content you make for everyone you, carl and cal and danny are all so special for the community and i aspire to be like you one day. Your best episode. My dad first took me fishing in the 1950s near where we lived in Canada. I mostly fish alone now, but I'm not lonely - it's peaceful.
I began fishing with my granddad over 60 years ago, my dad wasn't interested but he still took me occasionally until I was about 10. In all the years since fishing has always been something there for me to fall back on and ground me again. I only get chance to fish two or three times a year but it means a lot to me.
Lads, absolutely brilliant stuff. Fishing is very important for me too and to see and hear so many stories about how much fishing means to others is a real eye opener.

I started fishing again this year after a long pause from when I was a kid. When I go out fishing, rain or shine it really does take the stress of work or life away. I never could do meditation or other stress relieving suggestions but fishing is what keeps my mental health in check. What you guys are doing spreading awareness like this is amazing and I hope to hear more about it. AND WHEN WE FINALLY SEE YOU GET THAT DOUBLE IN YOUR GARDEN!
my uncle or dang he was like my father after dad passed away and after i lost him i dident know who to listen to who to trust......i picked up my fishing rod after 15 years and it was the best choice i ever did It 100% saved my life i was willing to end up dead or in jail......now as soon as i hit the water everything goes silent everything becomes peaceful thank you for doing this Me and my mate both agree fishing is the thing we both needed but never did

I suffered a stroke 4 years ago at the age of 37 and it had a huge impact on my life. Fishing is my escape from my problems a way to reset so I can keep going. Best wishes from the Netherlands

Brilliant guys. I'm struggling at the minute, but that's because of cataracts which has dteriorated my sight to such an extent that I can't drive, and struggle with a lot of stuff I took for granted. But as soon as I've had the surgery ( stop sniggering Tom and Sean ), I'll aslo be back out on the banks, as well as back shooting too. Well done with the crew guys. I moved away from where i grew up, moved to Manchester and it's just hard to make new friends at the age of 30 been here 6 years and still don't actually know anyone, the lads in the tackle shop is the only convo I have, am not a peoples person but it's nice to have a friend to talk to

I used to go fishing most weekends with my dad and friends when I was much younger. Float fishing on the canals/rivers. At some point i lost interest but only a year ago I regained my passion for fishing 🎣 and now I can't stop finding reasons to go. I tell myself, "I don't mind if I don't catch, its just nice being out by the lake/river and having some peace" but in reality I want to catch my PB lol. P.s. Good luck with the garden peg!

As a British war veteran I've suffered from PTSD for over 20 years. I cant emphasise enough the benefits fishing has on my mental health! It seriously keeps me alive! I wish you all the best and success with this incredible project

I suffer with my mental health and fishing is my release from all my issues we have a small work fishing crew and we all have some form of mental health problems so it’s great to get together and just forget about all that and put some fish on the bank. Great video thanks lads ❤

Lost a close friend 3 years ago to suicide and Iv not been fishing since as we used to spend many weekends sat on the bank in the bivvys, need to get back on it as your totally right all your problems just disappear when your sat outside with nature waiting for the alarms to go screaming off. What an inspiring video. Im a keen Fisherman but broke my back last November and now in a wheelchair, my goal was to get fishing again by spring, its now the 1st day of winter and haven't wet a line. I'd love a fishing buddy to help me. Im in Kirkcaldy Fife. Ive got loads of tackle so ready to go.

The way i see fishing is that you’re not in the future, you’re not in the past, you’re in the present and all you are focusing on is that rod tip bending and catching a fish.
