I never wanted to share this story until now because I never thought that with Gods help I would make it this far.

Tim, my Filipina wife and I have always loved you and supported, and cheered for you and Chrissy.....we were drawn to you both, and now I understand why. Redemption, strength and the love of God are things that shine through to others, without having to speak. Angelica and I have been together 6 years, and her presence in my life has changed me and helped me evolve into a loving, secure and complete husband and partner. I came from a childhood of abuse and troubles that led me to spend half my life from childhood into my 30s in foster care, institutions and prison. I began my life at age 31, still carrying the baggage from those early years, which evolved into a substantial addiction of drugs and alcohol. Coming out of a 15 year marriage I met Angelica through completely unplanned circumstances here in Alberta. Canada. She brought into my life support, strength, and shined God's light onto my sometimes dark soul. As we move forward, our family which has grown by 2, now including her two beautiful teenage sons, now 14 and 16, I see her and our marriage as a gift from God, who knew exactly what we both needed in our lives. We love watching your life with your family, and we wait for the time when we'll move to the Philippines and live out our years . Stay strong Tim, this nonsense that's invaded your life shall pass, you're in our prayers. Sorry if this seems a little disjointed as a comment, but I'm trying to encapsulate a lot into a very small paragraph without going on and on. If you're compelled, comment with your email, and I'll gladly share more. Sending love and blessings, John & Angelica

@@TimKyoutube Hi Tim From NZ. Sorry to but in to this conversation But was hoping I can get through to you this way as it sends straight to your profile by pressing reply on this, So you wont miss. I been watching you for ages (since Harald started making videos with you so I guess the start or around and was introduced to you through Harald videos) I myself am 34 and had as a teen a terrible addiction to codeine phosphate (opiates) I smoked a bit of Ganja with friends and sometimes drnking and then people on occasion started to offer codeine which was incredibly then easy to get and which I straight away liked and slowly began to take more often until one day realised was taking daily and was very hard to try stop. I ended up stealing and lying and getting in trouble a bit with law and I got off it and the last time at age 17/18 dad for 3rd time took me to India and mostly Himalayas again and spent about 6 months mostly in Himalayas where I became very heathy and fit and no opiates I also gained a lot off weight when I was on opiates in nz and lost huge amount in Himalayas. Back in nz I stayed away for a long time from opiates and etc But sadly a while alter started to take again and ended up on methadone programme (I have thankfully never touched a needle or taken heroin or even morphine and I even look like I never took drugs as I still looked after myself as I was just swallowing painkillers But I didnt know a way out and I went on methadone. I am on it now and want away from it (I dnt take any drugs anymore but am on methadone as I said) It also lowers your testosterone apparently (not completly but at least In part) I have gained also the last 4/5 years a lot of weight back. I just want life to change and for me to do more. Actually years ago (like 7 years back) I hung out on occasion with a nice filipino girl who was working in nz in a hotel and she was incredibly genuine , kind hearted and religious and I had to keep her at arms length bcos I did not want to get close until I cleaned by act up (she did not have a clue about that I was on methadone and etc) She ended up going back to the Philippines which I was actually happy about bcos I honestly found it hard with her in nz although that 100% should of been a motivation for me!! Anyway I dnt know what to do any more to tell the honest truth. I would love to just pack up and head overseas to india or even the Philippines but I cant just do that. I will I believe figure things out. And thank you sincerely for your story. To have a wife pray for you every night shows someone that has a lot of love and concern. As for those creeps like Andy Omar and co I watch their stuff on occasion and find it absolutely disgusting and atrocious. Most of these guys have almost no subscribers including Andy who has had about 4k for years as most people dont want to watch some enraged and jealous "RU-vidr" if you can call him that go on and on and on about an actual RU-vidr with absurd claims or attacking you bcos you had an issue with a alcohol and etc. I send a long msg back to the dork which he did not like. As he had a video of you years ago attacking you for this and that and I replied with the difference between then and now (not that you were overly bad person then but still is drastic changes and he just said , Ok thanks for replying 3 years later") I will show you msg I sent him if I can find it ,, it left him angry I think ..anyway thanks for all you do and keep striving forward or as Andy Omar says "I need to make less psycho obsessed "content" so my channel gets more then a few thousand subscribers " (most of whom by look of his views never watch) Anyway thanks brother and hope to meet you one day in The Philippines ..

As a young boy I seen first hand the struggles of alcoholism. My mom was an alcoholic. I watched her get so drunk that I feared her…I also was with her at AA meetings. She got sober but fell off the wagon a few times. At her death she was 25 years sober. I hated to see her struggle (and the family) but I loved her perseverance to love god and her family more than alcohol. I was so proud of her and loved her with all my heart ❤️ Keep up the good fight Tim

Hi Tim: Thank you for sharing that. I struggled for several years myself (with alcohol). It took me about 2 years as well to be comfortable telling my story. I took 6 months just to be able to sit somewhere like a restaraunt, bar, or party and just say "No Thanks, I don't drink", if I was asked to partake. I agreee that you have to turn your life over to God in these matters, the sickness of addiction is just too powerful to beat alone. Happily, on November 1st of this year I hit my 38th year of sobriety. I'm quite proud of that, but I never lose sight of the fact that every day must be taken one day at a time. You just keep doing what you're doing. Keep a smile planted on Chrissy's face with regard to your sobriety and your conduct, and you'll be on the right path for sure. I would love to exchange some email if you're up for it. Congrats on your 2 years!

I was bullied when I was growing up . At school and at home. My classmates were going out of their way to put me down. Even hit and attack me. If I defend myself I’m the 1 in trouble. I became angry. Then a video game addiction. I had an anger problem with the video game addiction. At work I had a boss who changed me. I’m glad she cared to do it. She wasn’t forced to. She did it because she cared.

I never knew about your struggle and yet your transformation has been an example to help inspire me! I watched you go from chasing red horse to building a dream life and family over the years. As a viewer you seems to create it out of sheer will and desire to have the life you wanted and not accept and hardships and a new normal. What a demonstration of strength and faith to put this out knowing it will help some and empower some less than honorable souls. Thank you! So one day at a time, is truly what you have...living in the moment! Truly, congratulations Tim! I'm 66 years old and have been battling drug addiction since my early 20's. So I truly understand where your at in life! I've been clean now for 3 years, 4 months. The longest period in my life clean, since my late teens! Believe me I've destroyed many things in my life, and I to have said I'm sorry so many times that people didnt believe it anymore! (Family). Recovery is about humility and taking full responsibility, focus on the solution, let go of blaming, thinking life should be fair, look only at your part in everything. Self centeredness is the root of thinking that leads to drinking. It’s a process of action, action, action. Half measures avail nothing. Go all in. Only look at your part. Chrissy - what an amazing woman I respect so much

The first year (or 2) is such an extreme change that it affects your mental health. I had to almost be medically induced into a coma after not responding following 4 seizures. When I came to and realized what I had done to myself, I said that was it. But the mental rollercoaster can be dangerous. Natural highs and really low lows. But one day at a time. Trusting in my higher power and the fellowship of like minded people has helped me. It’s saved my life. Addiction does not discriminate. If you’re struggling and reading this, it does get better. I actually committed to admitting myself to 1 program a year and go to meetings, even if they’re just online. Recovery is possible!!

Wow, Tim! Thank you so much for sharing your heartfelt story. I know from my own experience how difficult it is to share those deepest feelings with another soul, and I'm very grateful that I was able to be present for your humble 'coming out' from behind the dark veil of alcoholism. I am now 39 years sober, and every day that has gone by wouldn't have been possible without that same fellowship that guided you through those darkest moments and into a new beginning. I'm a. Vietnam vet, but I know I brought my alcoholism with me to boot camp. Made it out honorably by the skin of my teeth and rose and fell spectacularly for the next fifteen years, until I was diagnosed with alcoholic hepatitis and was given a poor prognosis for survival unless I stopped drinking that day. Being a true alcoholic, and since I was already drinking at 11am that day, I continued to drink but woke the next morning with a firm resolve to never take another drink...for the umpteenth time. Long story short, that was July 22, 1984, and this time I made it. But I only made it with the help and support of my family and with the fellowship of others living the same struggles as I did. Twenty years after my first drink, I went to work first for the Navy, and then the VA, as an addictions counselor and was able to give back much of what I'd learned from others over those years. I wish you and Chrissie the very best in your continued journey toward a full and meaningful life without alcohol. And thanks once again for showing the world that recovery is possible...it works if you work it! lol

Congrats on beating those demons Tim. Your videos clearly show you are a good man. I would like to see you do two things now. 1. Use that same will power to get your health in order. As an over 40 guy myself, I found I had to cut to 2 relatively small meals and cut the carbs in a big way. That will help alot and improve your mental well being and quality of life (from personal experience). You can do it. 2. Stop replying to guys like Andy Omar and PhillyinthePhilippines. Take the high road. Every reply you make just adds oxygen to their vile. A smart person once said "Great minds talk about ideas. Small, petty minds talk about people." 7th ID (Light) Cav pilot here. I lost my first wife to drugs and alcohol on February 13, 2007 when I took her off of life support because she had no brain activity. That day also happens to be my grandmother's birthday. That same night my older brother was coming to the hospital to be there when I took her off of life support. When he was on his way to the hospital he got into an accident and totaled his car due to the inclement weather going down a steep hill. Thank God that he wasn't really injured and that almost turned out to be a nightmare. I ever turned to drugs or alcohol to ease my pain because I have a true hatred for what it has caused. The thing that helped me to get through everything, even though I have suppressed most of the pain, were the many prayers that I got and my faith in God. We need to pray for everyone including our enemies. Anyway I'm happily married to my wife who is from the Philippines and life goes on. I decided to leave the pain in the past and try to better my life by loving life as best as I can.

Tim, I am pleased to hear your story of your addiction. I remember a couple of years ago when I got upset at you after viewing one of your videos when Chrissy was getting tipsy with you. This was especially upsetting to me and I remember voicing my concern at that point to you. I served for 33 years in the military and I sat around fellow servicemen who were responsibly having a beer and others who would get plastered and get into trouble with their careers. I was worried about your new family and keeping it intact. I've seen alcohol destroy a lot of military members over the years I served. You and Chrissy inspire me and you are living a dream I had hoped to live someday. I am glad to hear of your sobriety and attempt to better your life. I am glad to hear of your sobriety and attempt to better your life. Wishing you a good journey through this.

I too quit walking down that road of destruction at the age of 35, I'm 67 now and can say it was the best decision of my life. Was it easy? Hell no, but nothing worth doing is rarely easy. Congrats on 2 years. Keep going in the direction you are traveling Tim, as you say it is one day at a time. The destination is never reached, just keep building a stronger you and a stronger connection to the creator.

I am 58 I was a wreckless alcoholic and weed smoker until I quit cold turkey (literally overnight) over 25 years ago. I understand the struggle to stay clean and sober and cigarettes, because I tried to quit several times before I figured it what worked for me. Im going to share my technique. 1. Be sure you have studdied within yourself famaly and friends, so yhat you can see the destruction it caused and the life changing benefits you wil/have acheived by choosing Sobriety. 2. I failed when I TRIED to quit. That left to many daily opportunities to fail. So I fell off the wagon several times even though I was really Trying. 3. My last day of drinking came when I took a more drastic approach. I stopped TRYING TO QUIT..instead I decided that I have had enough and actually JUST QUIT. It was way more final/permanent for me. After a day or two I already started to feel like I quit. Not trying to stay Sober/clean, but living to embrace the outcome. I gained about 15lbs because i sobstuted candy and snacks until the craving starting spacing out. Then after about 2 weeks I looked in the Mirror as a new man. I felt so good about my futur, which is still financially challenging, but my Sober brain can handle anything. 3. Drugs, Alcohol and Cigarettes are poison to me AND my Family. So I would no more take a drink than drink a bottle of poison. 4. Now I dont need to drink to deal with my shame...i am proud of who Ive become. Im stronger, smarter and wiser. Because I QUIT and feel good sbout it, I no longer count the days or years. Now being Sober is just who I am...proud. Hopefully my technique can help someone else who is still TRYING to quit. Congratulations to you for your succes! Now get out there and actually Enjoy the rest of your life. I found this video while researching the expat Life, but I'm going to sub your channel to watch you grow. GOOD JOB💪

Hey Tim- I was so humbled and grateful to hear your message today. What a power of example video you shared. I’ve been with you on RU-vid for a while now- and I started to see something change in your life. I actually said to myself: I think this guy is getting clean and sober. When I was back in Southern Leyte (Maasin) in 2022 seeing my in-laws and property my partner and I own, I saw your Jeep parked… I didn’t want to barge in and bother you- but it made me smile seeing that you were in the area. Next year I hope our paths do meet- I’ve been on this clean and sober path for a bit now… and as you and I may say: I only have today. I too have many AA zoom home groups all over the world (I’m in NYC). Thanks for adding to my sober life and being a power of example. Joe F.

When I decided to stop partying all the time in my 20's I stayed in my house and didn't go out at all to keep away from everything that was leading me down a dark path. The devil still came for me at work. There is no escape when trying to change your life and habits. Something will always test you and try to bring you back. I never considered myself an addict and still don't to this day but my environment and the pain that I was in daily at that time was making it a problem. These days I have no interest in partying or hanging out in bars or anything like that. Still have a drink here and there but just a small amounts in social gatherings. Had I not done what I did I would have ended up like a lot of the people I hung out with. People who have no options and are financially ruined. I bettered my life at the right time before things got really bad and now have the option to move out of country or do whatever I want freely. Even those of us that can stop when we want to can get caught up in that life under the wrong circumstances.

I had a work colleague who unfortunately drank too much alcohol after work n early morning too. He saw the horror of war n lost many friends in the Gulf War where he was living in Kuwait n was invaded by the Iraqi troops. In the end he suddenly pass away due to a head knock n doctors turn off life support system. He was only 45. Such a waste Tim K 😢😢😢

I can see how much better you have done based just on your looks. You look much healthier than you did when I first subscribed. My late wife was sober for forty years and died sober. We had a much better life as a sober couple. Our marriage survived, because we were both sober.

Nice work Tim! I've been sober since June 10th 2021. It happens to be the anniversary of the founding of AA but I didn't plan it that way. I was tired of being an alcoholic and drove out to socal to take one last look at where I was born before I was going to take my own life. Instead, I ended up killing the person I was. I now have a serenity in life that I have never known. I'm writing a book about my sobriety journey but I'm taking my sweet time with it. Moving out to Cebu next year and plan on finishing it in the Philippines. Stay the course buddy.

Back in 1986, I was told by a few people that I had a drinking problem. Of course, I denied it. I had a job and was very functional in my life, did I have a drinking problem? maybe, maybe not. Probably on certain days of the week mainly on weekends. So after a close call with the police. On January 01, 1987, I quit drinking. That lasted for 11 years. After that, I didn't have the urge to drink anymore. Of course, I do drink occasionally but it's not a problem anymore, I can take it or leave it. Best of luck to you and your family, I always enjoy your videos.

Proud of you for your transparency and integrity and change. I’m very lucky and blessed I’ve never been tempted by smoking, drinking or drugs. I’ve never even felt the need to try smoking or weed or any drugs. And didn’t even try my first drink till 27 and didn’t really see the big deal. I don’t like beer. And I rarely drink maybe once or twice a year if that. Now I’m nothing special. I have other temptations and weaknesses. We all have our own sins and struggles. But keep up the good work being sober and god bless
