Hey, I'm Brian Barczyk from SnakeBytesTV, AnimalBytesTV and Discovery channel's series Venom Hunters. Follow the Barczyk family and I as we share our lives as reptile breeders. Good Morning! Sunday Funday! Its the end to a hectic but fun weekend here at the Reptarium! I am excited to be moving towards the sloth exhibit, we still have to get the permits back and find the perfect Sloth for us! But I think we will get there soon! I have dreamt of owning one for so many years, but I also want to make sure its super well cared for and happy. So lots more research and a few trips to friends that have and breed them before we actually do it. Like I always preach to you guys! If you have a dream move towards that dream and make it a reality! Lori might not be that behind it, but she always supports me when it makes sense! Have an absolutely wonderful day! Hey, Brian! Would it be possible to dedicate a vlog to all of BHB's world's first? Not just ball pythons but colubrids as well. I have always been interested in how certain morphs came to be, just as many people are. I know you are a humble guy and might think of this idea as something prideful but it is one of the things that brought BHB to the top and what made the Reptarium come to fruition. Also, there aren't much OG breeders that are doing vlogs like you are so getting a glimpse of morph history from you would be great!

@@starlawilson9011 it's a tiny "cage" compared to what an actual facility is able to provide. Just because he can get 1 doesn't mean he should get one. He talks about not stressing the animal but knowing how he is he is going to want to be around it always that including having his guest around it as well. Idk I have tremendous respect for Brian but I don't believe he should be getting 1.

I love sloths I had a zoo keeper day experience with a sloth but you weren't allowed to touch it tho because they are prone to biting and swiping you with those giant claws, like you say just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Also, Brian doesn't really have a zoo, at least not in the usual sense of the word, He has a reptarium that you go to and interact with all the animals and I feel that having anything in there that you can't safely interact with shouldn't be there.

I agree, one time I recall he shaved his face completely and looked soooooooo good! I hate facial hair and especially beyond a day's growth. This year has really aged beautiful Brian, the old man whiskers aren't helping.

Branwen the Halfwitch as a young sloth they are actually pretty social once they got older they become more independent other than mating but brian has been doing his research to get this sloth for over 2 years I think he prepared.

In all honesty I think getting a sloth is selfish and cruel. Sloths sleep all day and, tho it may look like they do, they do not like to be held, stroked or hugged. Having a sloth interact with people would to my mind be so stressful for it and although I love the work you do, i feel your choice is more for you and not for the poor sloth.

But if your already keeping hundreds and hundreds of snakes in small af pull out plastic bins with practically zero mental and physical stimulation except for when you want them to breed so you can charge 2-3 times as much for them as others breeders for the same ones. That’s why he is always buying snakes from other people and unboxing them, buy them for a good price sell them for way more because you know you can get it especially with the platform you have. But whatever

He may not have it interact with people! He never said anything about that and I'm sure if he has done the research like he said he knows all that so the room will probably have low lighting during the day while visitors are there and they will probably just look through a window since it will have a whole room. And when he does interact and do videos it will probably be mainly at night or only for emergency cleaning or check ups or something. Most vets aren't open at night.

@@curisitykilledthecatnone7730 sorry but you need to watch the video again....he mentions he wants a captive breed sloth, about 6 months old, that is habituated so it doesn't bite. He wants to be able to handle it and also so others can handle it. I have no doubt he will research it, but to me this is not an animal that should be put on display and interacted with in this way. Sloths live high up in the treetops, they sleep during the day and are active at night, they do everything while hanging upside down, how can that be replicated in a small room.

I haven't went to look up stats but I feel like I recall hearing that komodo dragons would go after small children or infants. Not full grown adults. People were warned or would need to be cautious about their kids only when in locations that they live in the wild. However, I'm now going to look it up lol

How many of them were wild and not raised in captivity?? Kinda like the monitor lizards he has now could be dangerous if they weren't raised or handled right and if they were wild!! Alligators are dangerous too if not trained and properly handled. So is a dog if you really think about it!!

I read up on them and I hope you have a big enough home and can dial in on the tropical rain forest and there diet.they need real leaves to eat on and don't like to walk .not sure the sheet rock is gonna be good with the high humidity for sloth 🤔 they need over 90* humidity and hot .

I've literally always wanted a sloth and its always been my favorite animal since I was young. I have no idea why, it just was. I'd also love to have an orangutan but since there so intelligent its cruel to own them ( unless its a well established zoo or something of the like) so I will probably just do some work with them in a rehabilitate center at some point in my animal career :)

Sloths get very very stressed out easily, especially during “sloth encounters”. Maybe slow the roll and really really research how much they can handle/how to keep them calm.

YES!! I feel like he hasn't REALLY researched them, because I have (once he mentioned having them) I shared several links that went ignored. It's a horrible idea! I love tigers! Due to the fact that I love tigers, is why I would NEVER look into having one, they deserve to stay where they thrive best! Get books, collect pictures, get video rolls but let the animals be, please Brian!

My dream animal is actually an Alligator Snapping Turtle! When I was younger I helped rehab *8* and was never bitten. They ranged in size from fitting in the palm of your hand to a 76lb male. I love them SO much! My favorite were the females...they seemed to be very intuitive (don’t judge) but I built a bond with one and was able to hand feed her. She weighed around 20lbs and I really cried when she was released; so I knew I wanted my own someday.

I absolutely love animals and have many dream animals. A few are argentine black and white tegu, blue throuated macaw, a leachie, and a galah. But one of my absolute dream reptiles is a axanthic ball python. I absolutely love the stunning black and white pattern on them!

I think it's so amazing how many different DNA strands there are in snakes. Honestly I have no idea what to look at to know what the snake is. They all look the same to me... 🤗. I honestly just watch because of Brian and his enthusiasm. 🧡😁

I don't like this. I firmly believe Lori is the voice of reason and do not think she should have this much stress. A Sloth does not fit in the Reptarium. A Komoto dragon is another huge animal and the Repatarium has too many giants. Alligators, Anacondas, Aldabra giant tortoise, and Selucata. The Reptarium already needs much more room to house the future Adult Giants they have.

You have to have a special license to have venomous snakes and people who don't mind risking their lives handling and caring for them and most states won't let you have them unless it's locked down tight away from the public where no one can get hurt if a snake gets lose. And most states won't let you display them in a public area even for education purposes. Why do you think all the videos you watch of venomous keepers have their snakes in a small room with no windows??
