As someone who's masochist deck boss monsters are Full Armour Master and Chaos angel, that first player really didn't understant big immune meatballs very well. Edit: Curtain Raiser is a great monster, as its a free special summon most of the time, and thus great for rank 4s or synchro plays. It's also a 2200 beater if alone on the field which makes it a solid top deck guy as well.
Honestly, they don't even have to be big (or entirely immune). I accidentally got my Melodious deck to Plat (farming for Voiceless Voice) mostly on people not realizing that Bloom Diva is a Construct w/burn. Similar situation to this when I first started with an Alien deck.
Really surprised to not see S:P coming out to out the singular floodgates more often, feels like a very early UR craft even if you're new, but I guess Silver is Silver
@@RaithulIf people are aware of it, anyone playing a good deck will have it, people playing decks a Masochist deck can beat…probably don’t know what it is
It does give you a nice score boost, yes. Another good one is 3k damage, which is worth half a reward itself, and with a normal win guarantees at least 2 rewards.
Having gone through your collection in full now, I went ahead and took a crack at a deck. You have no real extra deck payoffs availble yet so it's sort of a tribute focused build. The biggest things worth pointing out are: Dark Doriado is a great (by your current standards) consistency tool. She can stack a variety of strong stuff on top of the deck, most notably Flamberge. She can also be summoned straight from the deck with Dark Horizon (alternative targets are Squamata and Timebreaker). Ultimeat Offering is slow but crazy powerful. You can do crazy like Raiza the opponent on their turn, and if you can get back to your own turn the three normal summons should make it trivial to summon anything you have in hand with ease, like Flamberge. The complete list is below: Snake Eyes Flamberge Dragon x1 U.A. Dreadnaught Dunker x1 Raiza the Storm Monarch x1 (These are the tribute payoffs, each is a valid Doriado stack) True King Lithosagym, the Disaster x1 Burning Dragon x1 (These are the non-tribute bombs, also both valid Doriado stacks) Zaphion the Timelord x1 (It's fine I guess, we kinda had to dig for waters for Doriado) Cyber Dragon x1 Photon Thrasher x1 Abyss Actor Curtain Raiser x1 Battlewasp Twinbow the Attacker x1 Bystial Saronir x1 Garbage Lord x1 Flowerdino x1 (Relatively free bodies to enable tributes) Dark Doriado x1 Shadoll Squamata x1 Launcher Commander x1 Mimicking Man-Eater Bug x1 War Rock Orpis x1 Archfiend Eccentrick x1 Timebreaker Magician x1 (Simple utility normal summons) Koa'ki Meiru Ice x1 (Good stats, outs monsters and unfortunately himself as well. Only really here because I wanted a second water for Doriado) D.D. Seeker x1 (He's sort of like Wind-Up Rabbit but more delayed. He can easily dodge removal and stick around to be tributed, or can protect another important monster) Plaguespreader Zombie x1 (It's slow to set up but he does technically work to set up tributes, and of course enables synchro plays even if those aren't often worthwhile) Sinful Spoils of Subversion x1 Pacifis x1 Pianissimo x1 (Your best protection at the moment) Fuhma Wave x1 Dark Horizon x1 The Deep Grave x1 Setuppercut x1 Dangerous Gabu x1 Floodgate Trap Hole x1 Trap Hole of Spikes x1 Nordic Relic Laevaten x1 Double Hooking x1 Ultimeat Offering x1 Grave of the Super Ancient Organism x1 Powerful Rebirth x1 Divine Wrath x1 Solemn Scolding x1 The extra deck doesn't matter a ton, so just toss in all the links or synchros you could theoretically make, as well as Gem-Knight Pearl and Pair-a-Dice Smasher.
That music during the first duel's speedup ("Life Goes On" from Persona 5, for those who don't know) was oddly appropriate. Not only was it a slog like an entire week's worth of tests, but I could hear Morgana saying, "Ooh, we could do this!" every few moments like when you get an answer right.
so wild how i feel off if i haven’t seen a vid from you. you have become like a brother to me man. thank you for your content and personality. Blessings on you bro
Joe really do be the type of guy to summon Crooked Cook while being 1 card up and sit through the entire duel. I can't lie, I've been there playing Sharks pre-Armor XYZ and Abyss Shark. You do what you must during dire circumstances.
25:30 I want you to know i hadn't listened to Dashboard Confessional in over 10 years and then you reference it twice in the last few weeks and now that song is stuck in my head
So I got a haircut today. Then right now I'm super baked for personal reasons. So I may not have been able to handle you suddenly asking me about my haircut.
As grueling is it is to trudge through a masochist run, I can say that it's been very entertaining to see a miserable pile of cards pulling off any wins at all, let alone the number of near-upsets the jank pulls.
I don't understand how so my modern yugioh players get by without any spell or trap removal in their deck. Like it's just so odd to me. It really confused me when I heard about Mystic Mine and how terrible it was for the game, but, it still gets removed from a De-Spell and all of its better versions that exist in the game. So MM was just broken because everyone refused to play any backrow removal then? So stupid.
It’s mainly because Spell/Trap removal is typically useless outside of floodgates, but yeah it’s bizzare how many people are willing to say “well you have to play x, y and z because they out these specific cards” but throw a hissy if you suggest that they should play more spell/trap removal to get around floodgates - especially when field spells and continuous cards are so prevalent at the moment
ok, you put in s/t removal for mystic mine, but they're also playing either a host of floodgates or an wholly competent deck that you're not allowed to interact with until you find your backrow removal. Sick, now it's round 2 and your against a monster combo deck that doesn't use backrow and you've now got 3-9 entirely dead draws in your deck.
You aren't thinking about this correctly. You are only thinking of the benefits of putting in a situational card, and not the opportunity cost of putting it in *instead* of something else. The issue is that *on average*, cards like Veiler, Imperm, Ash, Nib, etc. are all going to be useful in a higher percentage of games than Cosmic Cyclone or Twin Twisters, and so, when trying to get down to 40 cards, you cut the less statistically useful cards. And if you are not playing it at 3, but at 1, just so it doesn't push out as many better cards, but still having it as insurance, you run into a different problem, not only does it clog hands where it is not as useful as a starter or extender in engine, nor as a frugal choice of non-engine, but also.... you're almost never going to see it in those few cases where you *do* need it. Back in the day, you could depend on seeing 1-2 3rds of your deck in a given game. In that case, it is worth running highly situational spells that have no utility outside their use-case. Nowadays, you are going to see the five cards you draw at the start, and then 1-2 additional draw phases. Unless one of those six or seven cards can *search out* the one-of MST you put in, it is not going to appear. Spell/Trap removal is mostly only accessible when needed if it is searchable in engine (think Runick) or if it is in the Extra Deck.
I know you have quite a bit of zombie support 3 vampire cards plaugespreader the vendread cards the shiranui cards and the red eyes synchro, also if you get more of the starry knight stuff or level 7 light dragons you have photon current and astel along with arkbrave. aside from that cyberse synchron can make virgil with any four and lightning warrior with garbage lord or vampire lord. also please pronounce zirnitron correctly its my favorite card.
Tht blackwing player is kinda slow armor master could be saved from the destruction even by crashing then he could synchro even and bring it back with whirlwind
Explosive urchin is probably worth playing because of stuff like imperm and evenly. They're pretty commonly played traps. Also, zombira is a 2100 you can normal summon after specialing the 2100 warrock. That gives you 2 high attackers that can be dropped on the same turn.
