I was checking around on RU-vid and other places and could not find a decent stereo version of this song so I made one today. It took exactly 8 hours to produce with the video. I got the sound I was looking for so hope you like it!
My parents had this single, on the Buddha label; they used to load up a big stack of these singles on our Curtis Mathes home entertainment center's automatic changer turntable and they would play for what seemed like hours, it was like a jukebox.

Kenn, once again you've improved the history of Rock 'N Roll in a way that those of us, of that age, wouldn't remember The other thing I want to tell you is that the amount of time you dedicate to making a more beautiful sound should make people better understand that great things seldom happen without putting one's heart and soul into the crafting of what a person challenges themselves to do. Thank you (and I've donated some dollars to you in the past. Every listener should do the same right now!).
Beyond the Blue Horizon is my favorite by him. - I know it from the Rain Man soundtrack. That one is stunning. This song that you enhanced sounds great.
This is a great job. I've heard the original hundreds of times - it's one of my favorites, but the sound is so mushy. This sounds like it came from original tapes.
Wow! I've been looking for a stereo version of this song that isn't a cheesy re-recording FOREVER! Not a big Lou Christie fan because an old girlfriend swooned over him and it made me jealous. That aside, something about this song just grabbed me and wouldn't let go! Another was Rhapsody in the Rain because of fond memories I have of many times spent parking by the lake with the same girl! I think I'll look for it and see if you also uploaded it.Thanks for doing this one!
I think he would have gotten more publicity with his awesome cute looks to both sexes; but would be more famous with women if he would have been more exposed and came up with more hits from late 1960's to 1970's onward.
interesting on some of the albums his last name is spelled different, as "Christy". wonder if that was on purpose? can't see them making that big of a typo
Terrific job! Are you adding any instrumentation to these tracks? I was just listening to your version of Elvis' "Don't Be Cruel" and I thought I heard some guitar triplets, a few other chords and more.
I always ad instrumentation tracks for these versions. I used a 12 string acoustic guitar on the left channel and my electric 6 Telecaster on the right. That is how I got that full sound. The 12 string was in the key of E but the Telecaster I played in the key of D using a capo in the 2nd fret. That is one of the tricks I use when I have 2 different guitars with different sound setting that need to be matched. I added some vocals for the female parts, keyboard as strategic points and replayed the drums on the left channel and oh yes a little tambourine. I was so disgusted when I was playing version of this song on RU-vid were so ugly and distorted I went to bed that night and got up in the morning and said--I'm gonna fix that problem right now". I use a flat mono version but there are tricks I have discovered that would amaze even engineers working on the recording studios if I were to show them. Glad you all like it. As one fan point out just look at all the great music you have to work with.
@@cinematic35 I have a 20 year old Lou Christie greatest hits CD. I should check what version is on it if I can find it. I haven't played many CD's since RU-vid became the greatest jukebox in the world a decade or so ago. Didn't you mention a few years ago in the "show more" area what instruments you added to these tracks?
10 to 12 Gold Records worldwide it has the biggest selling record in the history of Japan also Australia the Japanese songs called "❤she sold me magic "and the Australian one is called "I'm going to get married"
