I’ve been watching The Boys since season one but my mum has recently gotten into it (I blame Jensen Ackles) and I’m pretending that I’ve never watched it because she always wants to watch shows together if we’re both watching it.
I would love to watch a good introspective progression of Huey's Character. He went from daddys boy, naive comic nerd to killer spy and he still hasn't become ice cold yet.
It's probably people who aren't rich making those jokes and the rich people are either too dumb or don't care they're being made fun of as long as they get more money. Which is fair. If I was a billionaire I would only care about what my friends and the legal system thinks.
@pinedragon5398 I don't think being a billionaire is the deciding factor. If someone doesn't care when they become a billionaire, they probably didn't care before then. Indifference to humanity is easier when you're rich, but it's not exclusive to it.
I think the big issue with the sexual assault thing is that Kripke and many others don’t seem to understand that even though it’s fetish stuff, it’s still SA. Later on when Tek Knight legitimately threatens to r*pe Hughie, it’s treated seriously; with no jokes or anything, which is good. But some folks simply don’t seem to understand that what Tek and Ashley did, even while fully clothed and not doing anything we’d normally consider SA, was still SA. I don’t think the show intentionally ignores or makes light of the fact that Hughie was SA’d; but I think that the people behind the writing legitimately didn’t understand that the stuff Tek Knight did before the threat was still SA.
Basically you are projecting yourself; you are saying that because it’s fetish stuff which was considered SA by everyone else however you found it funny and for laughs which speaks volumes about. It’s not the writers fault you see, it’s the audience reaction and you are the one who considers it for laughs
Hughie gets SAd shortly after his father dies. The creator says that it was hilarious. I cant believe im saying this, but the comics might actually be better now
@@vibemasterkorosu2469 the comics were pretty good all along, only reason to pretend otherwise is if you either A: Agreed with the show politically and wanted to disregard the source material or B: literally never read the comics in the first place but jumped on the Edgy bad bandwagon (Even though the show is literally pure shock value and no substance now.)
@@ElmarXiloko There is no bandwagon, the comics have quite literally copius amounts of edgyness. The Boys Diabolical EP3 WORKS because it had just the right amount of edge, which didn't sacrifice plot, cohesion & entertainement. Tell me how making every Supe a sex offender advances the plot & gives the reader some thought provoking message?
@@vibemasterkorosu2469 Name a scene in the comics that has not either been replicated or surpassed in terms of "edginess" by the show itself, there were good supes in the comics too, not all of them were like that. tell me how making a joke out of male rape advances the plot and gives the watcher a thought provoking message?
@@vibemasterkorosu2469to be fair, tek knight was always kinda freaky. Man literally fucks an hole he sees, and it’s played off for laughs. Until Hughie nearly gets fucked in a new hole.
All this sexual stuff in the boys is starting to actually annoy me, like I know it’s an adult show but like this season specifically and some parts of season 3 as well just made bored of the show, like I’m watching a show about bad human beings with super powers not the Hub, I still think the show peaked in season 2 but I’d have to rewatch it to be sure
S1 was peak. S2 mediocre. S3 trash but saved by Solder Boy who made it watchable. S4 pure unfiltered garbage. It fell off so hard. Kripke got way too much creative control. ''Nobody in power deserves to stay comfortable for long.'' - John Hancock
@@TheStraightestWhitest for the only thing keeping me watching is Atrain and Butcher, though I prefer season 4 over 3 it’s only by a little bit, like to me season 3 happened only because they needed to do it not because they wanted to and season 4 is here only cause of season 3 don’t get me wrong Solider Boy was awesome definitely stole the show I’m just a sucker for A-train and Butcher but yeah the show has definitely gone off the rails and not in a good way
@IorekMetal There was definitely material in season 1 that pushed boundaries, but it wasn't nearly as prevalent or extreme. Now it feels like they're just throwing shit in because they know Amazon will let them do anything and they think it's funny.
@@TheStraightestWhitest You are quoting a shitty Will Smith movie trying to convince us that The Boys is trash now that you figured out they are making fun of you.
@@naedanger123 This defense is trash. Tek Knight was a good person in the comics. A freaky one for sure, but because of his tumor. He tried controlling his urges and made sure it was always consensual. They literally just made him an actual racist slave owner a la Leo DiCaprio in Django Unchained as well as a rapist just because Kripke needs his conservative right winger strawmen. It's fucking pathetic and vile.
@@naedanger123 If they were faithful to the comics then Tek Knight would be a s*x freak who was ashamed of his urges and actually tried being a good hero by isolating himself from his loved ones instead of this mega racist one note character we got.
This season is just bad to me, my main gripe is the over use of everything sexual, especially the jokes or scenes. I don’t need to see a man’s full shaft and balls or hear a joke relating to something sexual every five minutes. Previous seasons had these things but they were kept in moderation for the most part, but this season especially episode six is just too much. Plus the stories a mess too it feels like this season is just pointless filler and leading to nothing.
Keep crying... Smh THE SHOW HAS ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THIS!!!!!! REMEMBER S3 EPISODE 1?????? OR HEROGASM!!!?????? NO ONE COMPLAINED! BUT NOW, JUST BECAUSE OF SITTING ON A CAKE AND BEING TICKLED IS WHERE PEOPLE CROSS THE LINE?!!!! Do you people even have a well functioning brain?! Or do you even have one?!... Smh, you waste of oxygen 😒
This was a HORRIBLE episode. Why so many weird sexual fantasies (involving men) in "the Boys"? It was the first time that I was checking the time waiting for the episode to be over. With even more of Kripke's politics, this might be my last episode. Just watching a highlight recap video probably will suffice at this point.
Poor hughie had the worst day. His childhood hero threatening to SA him and he was already in mourning…The episode pissed me off because everyone took so long to find him.
I just realized the Butler Elijah is Tyrone Benskin, the guy who played the Persian with the whip who got his arm cut off in the 300 lmao "MY ARM!!!" "It's not yours anymore.."
The Boys has been very disappointing. You can do the naked sexual craziness but it needs to mean something it cant just be sexual craziness. Herogasm is the prime example of sexual craziness and murder/blood/gore clicking with the audience
Tek Knight was really disapointing. Maybe there was supposed to be more to his character but no, he's just a billionaire Sherlock Holmes on crack who is into some degenerate shit
Garth Ennis wrote character WAY better than this. Kripke and the other writers have gone full TDS mode, and it shows. They've lost their fucking marbles.
@@TheStraightestWhitestkripke is getting high off his own farts and has to much creative control (while I’m usually against higher ups meddling sometimes you need someone to step in and shoot down some things or else we get stuff like tek knights grotesque assault of hughie which is treated as a joke by kripke)
@@Skiritai Uh-Oh, Someone didn’t read the Source Material. And Even then, Having A Degenerate Batman that uses a Exo-Suit and other Cool Military tech during his off time shouldn’t be that Hard to pull off. Hell, They could’ve done a Giant Realistic Mech Suit and a Customized Military Tank as a Batmobile and I still would’ve accepted it.
This episode could have been so much better had the scene not run as long, and they actually gave time and respect to the seriousness of it after that fact. Sucks too, because there was a lot of good outside of the controversial bits. It could have been one of the better episodes of the season, and now it's just a dirty mark on the entire show. I'm really hoping they give Hue more than ten seconds in the next episode to properly address to the topic.
@@madara992well, that's messed up. Starlight actually had some later episodes where she had to deal with her own SA and even got Deep to pay for it. Hughie gets absolutely nothing and the plot moves on? Like, I know nothing can be done since Tek Knight is dead... but you could at least have him being comforted by not just Starlight but also the rest of the boys. I mean, in the span of two episodes, he put his dad down and then got SA by his childhood hero and nearly got a Saw treatment before it was too late... yet the plot just moves like it's "not that bad, get over it".
Woke politics ruined him. Kripke hates ''white saviours'' like Batman, which is basically who Tek Knight is. So he had to make him a useless, weak, degenerate like every other white man that isn't insanely far left like Hughie.
@raginmage341 the only good thing about this season has been A trains redemption and that scene with the kid at the hospital and maybe butcher going crazy with seeing those visions. Everything else is like... blah. I was afraid they'd have this problem after the end of season 3. Because if they weren't going to kill homelander off with soldier boy then where do you go after that ending woth him killing that protester.
that's where I'm falling as well. definitely too in your face with the real-life references, especially naming actual politicans or actors, it doesn't mix with the material honestly.
I can't lie i have liked every season up until this one and the only parts i like of this one are when butcher is running solo and when we get scenes with a train because he is the best character this season imo
Yeah, I think the same about a-train. It would be a real shame if he died this season, honestly. :/ it would be better if they killed off maeve, this new black noir guy or even sage, but a-train and the deep? please no.
Yeah this season is just flooded with filler the only genuinely interesting parts are butchers, homelanders and Ryan’s story everyone else are just.. there
Nah bro I don’t know why he’s so angry. They’re probably his friends lol. I mean, who doesn’t love taking advantage of large groups and making a nice profit outta it
This episode was a hit or miss for me. Some things were done right, but the SA scene was horribly done, being played for jokes just so Eric Kripke can call it "hilarious." Sage on the other hand has lowkey become a new favorite of mine. Never heard of Susan Heyward before but her character feels so fresh and fun compared to whatever the hell they were thinking with Tek Knight.
Going to be honest, this really ruined season 4 for me. Like Hughie’s literal sexual assault is played for laughs and almost immediately forgotten about when Starlight’s is treated seriously and still mentioned even in season 4, and what because he’s a man? It’s a message that lacks the nuance that was present in the previous seasons. I even thought they were going to explore his trauma a bit more when he talked to Annie about it, but no it was just about him losing his dad.
Yea that kinda felt disappointing, he should have told Annie. also, FUCK ASHLEY, for once I actually felt bad for her because of her stressful job and she needed to get loose during breaks but naw this was too far. In other moments when she did these kinda things, It was also too far but this is TOO FAR. I dont even care if she dies because she's a freak. Poor hughie. The amount of shit hes been through, this is by far the worst and its supposed to be funny?? People should acknowledge how bad this is and shouldn't laugh at a serious problem that also happens irl
I knew Tek-Knight was off by how he was rubbing that glass, then going into the elevator I was thinking “Nope”. My thoughts were confirmed by the following unsettling scenes… Sheesh.
I felt so weird when Hughie cried and he said "I miss my father".... Like, Hughie, my bro, YOU GOT TORTURED BY PERVERTS! You are definetly not crying just because of your father, like cmon, there wanst even just a small, small talk about the LITERAL torture you have been put through? Also, a plus for Sister Sage, she is so cute when she is lobotomyzed, like, i actually felt bad when she said "i ate a whole pack of sweet popcorn", like i was just "thats adorable".
Ay yo im enjoying this comment section, it is wholesome, intriguing. It feels good being amongst other fans that are dark, intelligent and socially aware.
TK knew that WW wasn't a supe from the glass thing (tested super hearing), so the hole scene has a "I know you're an intruder, I'm playing along to mess with you as I figure out who you are" vibe. Also, TK is "that guy", so.
Yeah. I’m done with The Boys. Between what the showrunner said about Batman, and what he said about SA’ing Hughie and laughing about it, I’m done. We all get there was political messaging from the get go, but they were subtle about it and were more willing to go after both sides. Now it’s just preachy, hypocritical, AND immoral.
Such a fucked up episode , the guy is basically batman, went to homelander for a team up who is the superman. He puts him in his place , then comes the web shooting side kick , which is a iron man - spiderman side . The dungeon/ batcave scenario where the robin sidekick is gagged . Died by the Alfred type guy. Such a messed up scene
I hope the comic book loving people are happy about Hughie getting graped finally. They were so upset when he didn't get graped in the earlier seasons in the tunnels or at the herogasm or whatever.
Not gonna lie seeing this Tek Knight I really thought they sick enough to include the cat scene or the scene where he almost goes down on to his underaged sidekick
Those three are such amateurs if they believe TK is really dead in that last vignette as the elevator doors close. BB would have made sure before they left.
It was taken seriously before, this time it was played for laughs. Also this season’s writing has genuinely been bad. Like, not qualified for television kind of bad.
First off i feel this show is leaning too much onto bashing the right wing and conveniently not doing the same for the left with the same degree. This is where people begin to dislike the show. The way the show runner Kripke treated Hughie's SA as a joke makes me feel he is a sick minded man. To add, the writing to this season may feel a bit less plot wise but i feel this is just a build up to S5, especially with seeing HL watching over _____'s body.
You say that as if the US doesn't have a higher population than both of those countries combined and that doesn't at all skew your statistics around a bit.
@@griffinmckenzie7203 Unfortunate you would blind yourself to the truth which is a far larger percentage of prisoners in the UK and Australia are sent to private prisons based on a an Ad hominem. The fact is that this is because private prison in the UK and Australia have higher success rates of rehabilitation than most prisons on the planet including all the private and state run U.S. prisons numbers tell the truth but not the full story. The percentage is higher because it has proven effective to rehabilitating prisoners. However because of your in ability to think outside of logical fallacies when your argument has been countered you probably cannot comprehend prisons actually being run successfully since to do so you would have to ask why such a high percentage of prisoners are sent to private prisons into the UK and Australia instead simply rejecting the basic premise the UK and Australia have higher degrees of privately run prisons then the U.S. Good day pleb.
It was a little too much for me. This part of the episode is useless story wise and here just for the shock value. I feel like this season the gore is not as relevant as before, it's just a gimmick now and it's just going deeper and deeper with no goal behind
it was beneficial. See, in order to set up the interrogation done by starlight to get sage's plans, and to set up hughie's emotional meltdown, this scene was definitely needed. Without it, he would still be bottling it up, or worse, DEAD as a result of starlight and kimiko not appearing on time.
@@darryljack6612 And how did Hughie being violated for laughs (Kripke said himself it was intended as comedic, and he ''found it hilarious!'') help with that? Oh right... men being violated is funny...
Imo, this episode was the aboslute worst. I thought the one with Splinter was bad (though it was really cool seeing "Chuck" in the episode) but this one was even worse. I love the show, and how they go crazy with some things, but now I'm really wondering if Eric and other guys are OK mentally.
My brother and I like dark humour, but we cringed and felt disgusted watching the episdoe. My brother even explains how Tek Knight is much better in the comics. I was shocked they couldn't keep that version.
At this point, it's not about making fun of the MAGA folks. This is just plain old shock value. No story. No meaning. Just how many buttons can we push? Yeah. Three seasons were plenty for me.
My best guess about this all is butcher goes out the deep end and makes the virus trying to let it out, he either succeeds or he doesn’t but by the end of the show most all the boys are gone besides hughie and butcher, either butcher lets out the virus or he doesn’t, either way, by the end butcher will have killed homelander then before butcher can go further with his plan hughie has to kill him, kinda looks like what they’re building to, mm is getting tired of it all frenchie is locked up, starlight might stay and kimiko might but more than likely it comes down to them two
