Both things can be true. dynasties are actually good, it gives a staple team casual fans can become familiar with and most fans route against and it drives ratings but also them winning every year isnt great

The thing that impressed me most about Bowden was building his program from SCRATCH. I don’t know of any other coach that built a successful program from nothing. Most competitive schools have the basic foundation for success. This was all Bowden.

Several years ago, like maybe 57 years ago, I remember watching Ben "Pa" Cartwright on Bonanza when he shared this bit of wisdom with his sons, "Always remember, when you're # 1, there's only one way to go." Georgia is well known for its pecan pies, but they served up some humble pie to Alabama.

So it was bad when UM had their dynasty from ‘83-‘94, it was bad when FSU had their dynasty from ‘87-‘00, it was bad when Nebraska had their dynasty from ‘93-‘97. Stop it Nick. Dynasties are great in any sports. It’s good to have a team for everyone to look at and say, if we want to win it all, we have to go through them.

Every time I watch NFL teams, Bama college football players are mentioned. That’s the beauty of Saban’s dynasty, all these amazing players in the NFL have been coached by him. Also, I am a UAB fan, but when Bama plays, I make sure I watch them because Saban is the greatest coach of my generation and I love to witness him coach.

I'd make the argument that dynasties are good for college football, so long as said dynasties aren't 100% dominant. Sure Alabama has been incredible since '09, but they haven't won all of them. And because of that other fan bases have something to rally against. Take this game. I've seen Auburn and Florida fans congratulate Georgia for winning just because they wanted to see Alabama lose. I think last night's win as a UGA fan was made even better BECAUSE we beat the dynasty.

Going to get smacked talked from people for saying it but I've said this all year long Bama's QB Young is too casual when dropping back no sense of urgency to be in position for a quick throw if a lineman gets beaten on the snap... Has footwork when the ball is snapped just sort of glides casually backwards versus dropping back to his mark an ready to plant. Works if you have superior team or receivers who can jump for 50-50 balls or outrun the coverage without those type of guys well.....the bad mechanics catches up to you.

They complained but the ratings were high. Especially during the Warriors vs LeBron era. The ratings started dropping during the Warriors vs Raptors and it hasn't been great since. In my opinion fans need someone to love and hate. Teams like Alabama and the Warriors gives us that.

Dynasties in pro sports are ok and interesting because, love the team or hate the team, they can only exist because of excellence by the players and coaches. In college, there is no salary cap or draft order benefiting bad teams. Dynasties are self-propagating because of the advantage they give in both money and recruiting. The bigger and better the dynasty, the easier it is to continue the dynasty. It just kills the competitiveness of the sport. That's why I never find college sports as interesting as pro sports.

Alabama gets all the top recruits just from a pure talent standpoint, Bama should lose a single game they always have the more talented high schoolers. Seeing them lose is great because it always means the less recruiter team outplayed them

@Dre Mac - UGA had as much if not more talent on the field during the NC. Also, UGA has beaten Alabama in recruiting 2 out of the last 5 years and in the other 3 years they were only 1 or 2 spots behind Alabama in recruiting. There is not a huge talent gap between UGA and Alabama.

I want to see Georgia face JSU to be honest, champions versus champions. I'm new to College Football, so maybe I need to read more about how this works, but a National Champion should probably be a "National" champion, with smaller teams getting certain perks the bigger ones don't to even it out.

This is my position on NE Patriots, how do they keep going to Super bowls. It's more to it, because in the NFL too much player turnover, it's a much bigger anomaly than any sport since 70's where all the leagues talent were on two teams. The most glaringly stat is ref calls anytime brady or belly need a 3rd and long & need to score or get that 1st down Brady throws a fly pattern down the sidelines & get a pass interference, which gives them the scoring position & they catch the other team frustrated, with a quick play for a TD. This happend in 2nd quarter in the colts game & several times 5 for Pat's & 2 for colts but clearly on two plays tampas defenders pull & banged our recievers & no call but an interception but other teams can't touch them. It happens like clockwork. Not to.mention all the other scanle they committed. Tuck rule, spygate deflate gate. Etc. Last year superbowl, Brady threw 2 interceptions both were overturned for holding but you couldnt see it on the limited replays & no said where it was. End of game KC had 120yrds in penalties but Bradys team 40. I could go on & on.

Great as Saban is, his 1st title was shared with Carroll. Both went on to the NFL, one is still there and a Super Bowl champ and Saban had to go back to college. So whose actually been better? Die hard Duck fan asking here

There is no parity the best talent plays in the SEC. The national title is a regional contest the Southeast Conference and Clemson. Once in a while an Oklahoma, Ohio State, or some random powerhouse sneaks in who usually gets crushed by an SEC team in the title game. They need to set parameters on the recruiting so these SEC teams don’t end up stacked.

At least for National Title games ratings are not up. At best they have leveled off when they should be going up because live sports are the only thing people watch live anymore. Specifically Alabama doesnt do as well in the ratings as an OSU ND or back to the USC dynasty
