In regular 1v1's there are no free throw so 6 fouls doesn't sound too crazy to me. It's just different from the norm around the youtube scene where games are being refed and guys are being paid. The 6 fouls rule gives the player enough chances to win the game without relying on a free throw. What they could do, is make it to where, once a player reaches the 6foul mark, every foul afterwards automatically leads to free throws kind of like when a team in college or in the NBA gets in the penalty. This way players receive the ultimate penalty for hacking.
