넬은 1999년 결성돼 올해로 18년차를 맞은, 한국 모던록 장르를 대표하는 밴드다. 특유의 음울하고 서정적인 음악으로 마니아층을 먼저 만족시킨 넬은 2002년 초, 서태지의 러브콜을 받으며 '서태지가 선택한 뮤지션'으로 대중적인 주목을 받기 시작했다. 이후 꾸준히 자신들만의 음악을 발표하며 팬층을 넓혀나간 넬은 활발한 방송 출연 없이도 그 매력을 인정받으며 대중성을 띈 밴드가 되었고, 특히 '연예인이 좋아하는 연예인'이라고 불릴 만큼 배우, 가수 등 많은 연예인들이 넬의 팬임을 인증하기도 했다.
넬의 음악은 무엇보다 이들만이 가진 우울함, 기괴함을 베이스로 한다. 한 번에 이해하긴 어렵지만 곱씹을수록 깊은 감성이 배어 나오는 가사를 비롯해 보컬 김종완의 음색 또한 곡의 우울함을 배가시킨다. 이 때문에 넬의 노래는 밝은 멜로디, 다이나믹한 연주 속에서도 슬프고 허무한 감정을 느낄 수 있다. 18년이라는 긴 시간 동안 음악을 하면서 '넬스러움'이라는 단어를 얻게 해준 것처럼, 넬은 크고 작은 시도 속에서도 본인들만의 무드를 지켜나가고 있다.
넬의 [아임라이브] 공연은 이들의 대표곡 '기억을 걷는 시간'을 비롯해 잔잔한 분위기의 '그리고 남겨진 것들', '한계' 그리고 '습관적 아이러니', 'Ocean of Light'까지 다양한 분위기의 곡들로 구성되어 공연장을 가득 채운 넬의 팬들을 만족시켰다.
