This is a stunner! I had collected a bizillion hankies years ago for a quilt, shams, ruffle and curtains...none of it happened. What glorious journal pages waiting to be born, thank you muchly!
WoW!! I just love how you have done this! I love them all, but the dryer sheet! It is so yum!! Thank you for this idea, I am going to give it a go. Sara x
Ronda without an H, excellent tutorial - especially the various bases we can use: handkerchief or used dryer sheets OR muslin - all with pressing cloth! TFS
Ronda...thank you so much for sharing this video. I have never heard of this technique before. I love it and I'm excited to try this. I will of course give you credit when I film my own video. Thanks again 😀
Watching this for a second time. I love your fabric paper/paper fabric. I've done something similar with peices of fabric that I was gifted years ago by a local upholstery shop. The fabric was from the sample books that had been discontinued. The tops of the fabric had been glued to paper to stabilize them. I cut that portion off when I used the rest of the fabrics in quilts. I was going to make book marks, but after making some mini albums I decided to try them as junk journal covers. They turned out even more awesome than I had imagined. For the base I used the large paper bags that some of the grocery stores still use. I have lots of fabric scraps and every one has dryer sheets. I want to do this now.
WOW! Ronda you are so talented! I am so pleased to have found your channel and am anxious to view all of your videos! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us!xo
Rhonda I have been waiting for a u tuber to nail my interests combined... YOU are that girl! Thank you and please keep those tutorials coming.. you have one fan who will be waiting on each one. Pam... Pamela W Interiors
Tissue paper makes a good first layer also, as do book pages and other papers. Instead of ironing the background to the freezer paper you can mod podge it on or use white glue with a little water mixed into it. Can be painted when dry also. Very, very fun project...thanks!
Ronda Winstead cant wait to see what you do with your art fabric papers! im working on mine now...hoping it dries. Do you do anything special like use a heat gun?
Awesomeness! I love this and cannot wait to get started. Dryer sheets I am going to try first since our laundry is never ending lol. Thanks for sharing really enjoying your channel😊
While I have enjoyed seeing your finished sheets, I would have liked to see some of the actual collage work being done...personal preference. Lovely layers! I like the lace and crochet pieces!
WOW can't wait to give this a try!! What a amazing project!! Thank you for sharing. I have now subscribed to your channel. Hope to see more projects to come...Linda
How sweet Sandra! Thank you so much and may your holiday season be blessed as well. I've driven past San Antonio when visiting our youngest son in Kyle, Tx this past year...you have a LOT of traffic. LOL! Stay safe okay???
Hello Ronda!! I never thought of fabric paper. I have made faux rice paper, but never fabric paper. Do you really like tatting?...LOL You're so cute, I love sitting here listening and crafting along with you. Thank you so much for the inspiration. Much Love from Texas!!💕💕
OMG Ronda. That is stunning I love it. Both the handkerchief and the dryer sheets were chin droppers. I watched Gayle do a couple of these that were really pretty, but I'm going to save all of my dryer sheets from now on and I have a peice of what I think might be linen hanky.
Sounds wonderful June!! Yes, I also watched Gayle's video recently for making fabric/paper...her method just takes longer, but was fun for sure. Let me know how it goes...have a fabulous day!!
Hey Ronda without a "H"!! I want to tell you I made a fabric paper the other day!!! OMG! I love the way it came out!!! I wish there was a way I could send a pic here for you to see it, but I LOVED IT!!! I did it on a scarf I got from a church sale . :-) As soon as I find a way to show you mine, I 'll do it cause I want you to see it :-) Thank you so much :-) Blessed be
Hi Ronda! I'm just now watching this older video, "I'm Making Paper Fabric or Fabric Paper!!" from 5-24-17. I have enjoyed this video very much. It seems like a great idea. Have you got any videos to watch of you using the fabric paper? Just curious & I would like to watch that. You did a great job! Would love to see the entire process start to finish on video. Is there one? TFS Happy Creating! Samantha
Thank you Samantha! I don't remember a video just for this process...I've used parts in various projects. I will add to my list of "to do's" a video showing start to finish. Thank you for your support!!🤗🤗🤗
Hi Ronda (without the "h" - haha - I love it!!). I just stumbled across your channel today and have spent the morning watching your videos and I have loved everyone of them. Such beautiful work. I love the mix of fabric, lace and paper- I will be on the lookout for more!!
PVA glue would work just as good as mod podge Because you used your beautiful handkerchief, where are you going to use this pretty The second one you are showing is stunning ! Made me say a quick oh!!!
Beautiful work i just found you again and this time i bookmark you. do you happen to have the link to the previous paper fabric video did with the flower napkins on it. i love watching your process. Thank you
it is very pretty, both pieces are, but you really didn't show us your technique of making the paper fabric. How did you keep it so neat and wrinkle free, how are you placing your collage pieces and how much mod podge did you use? Do you only make the one layer? Is it thick enough with only one layer? I never saw this technique done without any mess, so I don't have a clue how you did it. I'm not trying to be critical, I really want to know. I really do love what you did. Maybe other people catch on quicker than I do, I 'd really like to get more information if possible. Thank you.
wow that turned out to be a gorgeous piece of art!!! It would totally be in a frame and hanging in my living room!!! Good job!! Have you ever had to go over anything with more glue mixture?? Like maybe to fix or add something?? I'm in the middle of one of my own right now...it's drying on the counter right now, but I think it may be uneven and it's for a cover for a traveler... hehe...we'll soon see if it worked or not. lol Maybe it will be hanging on MY wall...or possibly and most probably in the trash!! lol Good for you on a beautiful work of art!!
Thank you for your kind comments! Without seeing your work, I can't really comment, except that if you feel when it's dry that it's missing something, you can certainly put down more mod podge (thinly) and add other components...but you may be surprised when it's all dry! Good luck!!!
Thank you Patricia!! Honestly I'd not even thought of the possibility...I will definitely see if I can produce a clear scan of some of my work...thank you for getting my brain working today!!
OMG! That's freaking stunning...and easy enough that I could do it. Can it be folded to make a book cover? I wouldn't want to cut it down, its too beautiful. I wish I could talk to you, have so many questions... Thank you, Patricia
Thanks so much Patricia! If you keep your layering modest, you can use the finished product as a journal cover...the more you add, the less pliable it becomes...good luck!
@@RondaWinsteadRondawithoutanH Thank you and I will remember to do that. I have everything I need already here. I made my own hodge podge, works pretty well. I enjoy all your videos and Thank goodness the volume is always up on yours. Some videos I can't hear at all.💖
Is the handerkerchief ironed right side down on the freezer paper? Do Mod Podge the entire handerkerchief before adding the fabric/lace pieces? Do Mod Podge an area before adding the fabric/lace pieces?
Okay need to find out how to make fabric to make into a where able vest With napkins please anyone help please I was given many red white and blue pateotic napkins I want to where them
I would recommend you start with used dryer sheets, or a really thin fabric interfacing (no iron on glue) and then add your napkins with this method...you could even cut the vest pattern out from the interfacing, leaving about an inch all around the pattern...glue your napkins on, let dry and then cut around the pattern again, but you can't use heat after you've glued things...it will melt and gum everything up...can you perhaps find a ready made fabric you love that's patriotic??
I made a journal cover with one piece I made. It's thicker obviously than paper, but I've been able to stitch through it and have used it as embellishments and adding textures on other projects...
Without seeing and touching it myself, I honestly can't tell you Susan...I wouldn't think so, but it really depends upon the hankie and paints used...sorry I'm not helpful...
You can seal it with a spray sealer, eg, Design Master Home Decor Aerosol Spray, matte. Try to do it outside and/or use a mask. My opinion--you wouldn't want to use the hankie as the base because you would then cover up the painted design. Why not use something else and decoupage the image to the base so that it can be seen.
