😂😂 exactly my thoughts lol. Now I just use mimic tear. At least then the mimic will die in 15 seconds and serves as a good distraction so I can watch the bosses move set and come up with a plan lmao
@@icydragon308 I do that too lol. The only kinda summon I do now is a mimic but just so it can run out and die and I can just come up with a plan in the meantime. It usually takes a few times either way lol
@@LuisFelipe-pq9lr Actually Malenia is easy on co-op depending if your team knows how to attack after you attack Melania gets staggered easily So if I use river of blood.. (full combo) I run out of stamina right? .. but I deal huge damage Problem - I die cuss I can’t run away Solution - the moment I finish my combo my team has to also use theirs.. the moment I finish it .. that way she get stuck in a staggered animation .. by the time my teammate finish their combo I got my stamina full … meaning we can do this combo until she dies Sadly is awful with randoms But I managed to know how to solve it I do not start a combo .. I wait for my teammates to finish theirs and then I do mine Hopefully they do theirs after
I could likely do that to that boss in my game. I still had a really hard time with the red wolf of Radagon, the last ball bearing hunter, and rune bears. They move way too much for something like Comet Azur to be used that way. You'd be half dead before the spell even started doing damage, and you can't distract them with a summon. Some bosses just fall to that particular trick really easily, especially if you set things up carefully. This works a wonder for getting rid of an Erd Tree Avatar, for example. The Dragon Tree Sentinel is tricky because you have to get it to stay still for a bit, but it's possible.
@@Omnifarious0 did you use a the talisman that makes the boss agro on you That way you can summon a mimic with it .. and quickly change the talisman back Yeh boss will mostly focus a lot to your mimic .. that way maybe your spell won’t miss a lot since the boss will stay near your mimic
@@PRchris13 - I haven't used that technique yet. Honestly, almost every boss I can use summons with I can beat in one or two tries, and so I haven't felt the need to try that. Maybe, once I get to Malenia I'll be forced to go there.
I would have gone just a little closer but yes it is impressive, as a sorcery caster this spell melts.....also as a sorcery caster the positioning needed to get a good cast while hoping whatever is on the receiving end doesn't move....too much, sucks ass!
I get that it's kind of a letdown for a summon to just one shot like that but I think one should expect summons to try their hardest to help the summoner even if that means op builds. I'd rather that then a useless summon that trolls
Ya but I could easily respec and do that myself, that's not why I summon. Summoning is a fun coop experience - this takes the fun AND the cooperative element out of it - its like pressing a button to delete the boss just so you can move on
Someone did that with Morgott, i love summoning when it’s a challenge for both of us and he aggros, this guy i summoned just One shot him, i’m never summoning again it left such a bad taste. I’m not mad at him but if i were him i would have let the Host struggled a bit, it didn’t feel deserved at all
@@visualsynthetics9882 No it's not, have a friend join if you want a fun co op experience, Souls games co op feature has always been about summoning someone who can beat a boss you can't so you can progress.
@@metasaurus3233 lol ok whatever you say. I've been playing souls games since 2015 and playing coop is just as much about fun and cooperation as it is about getting help. I'm not saying it's not about progression - but summoning someone who just one shots the boss with this broken ass build is lame as fuck
@@metasaurus3233 don't believe me? search the words "fun" and "coop" together in the dark souls or bloodborne subreddits and you will see countless posts about coop being fun, or people engaging in coop cause it's fun. It's a fucking game, games are meant to be fun. Not saying no one should use comet azur, if they find that fun power to 'em, but I would say a vast majority of people don't find that fun just oneshotting the game with one spell. So go ahead and do that if ya want, but if you're gonna use that when you get summoned... IN MY OPINION that's super lame. This isn't the first video I've seen about ppl being annoyed their summon one shots the boss with comet azur, and ive seen more people criticize it in the comments and in the elden ring subreddit
That doesn’t bother me. If I summon help, I just gotta take what I get. If my help decides to one-shot the enemy, so be it. If my help dies immediately, so be it.
exactly, i might be a little let down or feel bad if someone gets oneshot when i summon them but thats only because i know usually they wanted to help and instead did nothing. I know how i feel when i fuck up like that and leave my host alone lol
the best way to avoid these coinflips is to only summon NPCs (both ash summons and NPC summon signs). for this battle you can summon both Millicent (you need to have progressed her questline up until defeating the Godskin Apostle) and Great Horned Tragoth (no pre-requisites)
I see some people getting mad about summons oneshotting the boss, because then it's not a challenge anymore.. Bro, if you want a challenge then fight these guys on your own. And if you want a little bit less of a challenge use some spirit summons. But don't summon random people and complain when they do the job for you.
@@JoeyCentral a balance? There's no code of conduct when you get summon. Either you are helpful or not. I like the fact that you called it a cheese when all he use was things that were put in the game
I’m sorry, I’m dying of laughter over here watching the other guy you summoned looking at you and him like “did you just…” and him standing there in my mind just saying “What?”
player : "i want an adventure! with allies to fight with me to defeat powerful foes!" dungeon master : "okay, level 600 royal court mage of the divine dynasty has joined your party, all his gear is maxed out and he casts before the fight even starts" player : "i... i said i wanted an adventure..."
Thing is if someone is wearing THAT particular headpiece they will without fail be using comet azur as it buffs the spell by like 15%. You can see a preview of who is getting summoned so just don't summon that one if you don't want the lazerbeam
Considering how quickly Invaders spawn in to crash the party if you're at the level ranges you'd be expected to fight this specific boss, I'm not surprised that some golds set up there assume the host wants to speedrun it.
@@skrublordnord69 Well no need to stop asking but damm need luck to get someone who is not gonna do something like that with a glimpstone or bleeding build, personally I went with magic on my first run, just cause I love magic, didn't knew it could get this OP at first but ended the game without summoning, but if I get summoned at best I use Rock Sling to help break pose or stars of ruin for hyper mobile bosses.... or well since my build is int faith some times I just play as a healer support bosting defenses and healing, if I believe that the player do have a good chance on their own and need a small push.
@@azizalmaskeri1679 eh I don't think so, rock sling does really good damage against Rennala from memory, and the first glintstone dragon isn't too much of a challenge for mage imo. But the Adula glintstone dragon and any boss enemy that's quick is a total pain in the ass
@@azizalmaskeri1679 rock sling is a sorcery buddy, you can pick it up with the meteorite staff early game that has S int scaling and boosts GRAVITY SORCERIES which rock sling is
Didn't even react after the deed was done; just stone-faced (literally) the whole time, like he does this a dozen times a day. That's a true INT Chad right there.
Anything can be broken down amd catagorized in many different ways. Im going to break down souls borne players into 2 groups. first group who want to have a specific gaming experience. for this groups summons often feel overpowered and that hurts the play experience. 2nd group that wants to overcome the challenges provided by any means provided. for this group creating and showing off, and/or being shown, an amazing over powered build is fun. the vast majority of people in the 2nd group are not trying to steal the fun of the first group. they just do not have a means of talking to the first group. i think its disingenuous for people of either group to call the other lame.
There is a third group. That's role players. Whatever works, whether it is weak, or strong goes on the role playing build. Then getting summoned, or summoning is a chance to act out the role publicly. The challenge is fulfilling the role. Even if that means not using the best armor, weapons, or spells. This group probably overlaps with your 1st, and 2nd group.
Best co-op I did was the ice lightning commander Neil guy. I was dex/arc, but not rivers of blood. Bloody Helix Rhand, godskin stabby sword Lhand, infused with blood. Huge blood loss, but I actually had to dodge and land hits and stuff. It was just me and host, both chipping in damage, both taking turns drawing aggro, both taking damage and needing to heal. My last big jumping L1 got the boss real low, and I knew I drew aggro so the host was safe. I backed off and let host get the killing blow. Host was good, just needed a bump, and still got to earn the win.
"From Soft, can I see what stats and armaments my summon has?" *"No, but you can see their helmets." "... Then can I do a boss rush later in case I want to do it without summons?" *"Haha no fuck you"
Thing is though, summoning players in other Dark Souls games or even Bloodborne never ended with a result such as this. Elden Ring just scales its damage so tremendously and then gives you a ton of items that boost damage, that in the end you have players bleeding bosses in two hits, or such using laz0rs to anhilate them.
This game isn't called bloodborne or dark souls its called Elden ring an entirely different game. If you want the same mechanics then stick with the game that offers those mechanics. That dude was summoned to defeat a boss and he did it quite efficiently. If you dont want to be handheld then do it yourself a really simple concept that I guess is so hard to grasp for a lot of people
@@MarvoloSalazar I think he means that Elden Ring has some huge dmg balancing issues and how people want summons to help them defeat the boss with sickass cooperation like those Avengers movies. But yeah I agree with you.
I love being summoned to help with tough bosses, nothing more satisfying than being summoned to fight against Radhan, 3 Rotten Dragon Breaths later he’s down
Commander thunder toes is the only boss I’d allow that to happen too, I’ve never liked being flanked by greatswords and assuming I’d survive thing one and thing two there was still an entire boss waiting to kill me
Damn, I wish this guy would join me. Over all 10 of my characters, my most hated, mandatory boss is most definitely this stupid sentinel sitting outside my castle door. Like bruh, I'm just trying to give Morgott the smack down but this horse man never lets me through
Have any of your "10 characters" actually beaten the game? Because this boss is a pushover compared to even some of the optional bosses. And after 10 characters worth of experience, you should just be able to waltz through the game with even the silliest build.
@@Facepalm9 Yes, all of them. 12 playthroughs completed. Eight of them RL150 for PvP, one RL300, one RL400. Turns out that at sub RL50, before you can get great gear, the Draconic Sentinel is tougher than Morgott and Godfrey. That or I just never clicked with his moveset.
@@Camacho4Prez2024 Damn, somehow in all my playthroughs I never took the portal next to Fia. Or rather I did on my first playthrough, but since I was already through the Haligtree by the time I got to Depths my brain just wrote the portal off as being worthless, so I just forgot it was an option.
It'll so far always be the question if the Int Player plays either the Laser Beatdown or Moonveil Be a Chad and play it because you enjoy it + if you beat the Boss, you can always remind the others that without you they'd still be stuck
The thing about summoning help in FromSoft games is that unless you have control over who you’re summoning (part of a specific group or a specific friend), it’s pretty much a forfeit and you’re just letting the other guy solo it for you. Would be nice if there was a group online that made it so the people who you summoned just helped you, not solo’d for you, cause fighting with other players is pretty fun tbh.
To be fair, you summoned a guy wearing Azur's set. Absolutely 100% of the time, every time, when someone is wearing that, they're maining Comet Azur, always, no exceptions. If you knew who you were summoning, you knew what was going to happen.
The dilemma is that you sometimes gets summoned into a host who can't take more than 2 hits from the boss and also donno how to not take those 2 hits. In those cases I suppose this is an answer, tho I'd say the other answer is just to sever the next time you get summoned by them instead of beating it for them.
I feel this deep within my soul. Having host be killed by Horah Loux in 2 hits because they are incapable of jumping/dodging his stomps made me start trying to kill him as fast as possible rather than letting the fight play out. I don’t want to have to go through 2 cutscenes with no reward so either you want the boss dead and you summon randoms or you play it out and have fun.
@@TT-pf3sv Around 30-40% of host I have met lose more than 70% of their hp when they hit by radagon while i can tank 2 full heaviest hits from him. The whole goal of summoning is so the guy you are summoning can beat the boss it doesn’t matter what build it is be it Comet Azur, or jumping dual scavenger sword bleed build or just a out right broken build that one shots the boss when you are summoning it is the equivalent of “big brother can you help me beat this boss?” And that is exactly what he did, remember it was your choice to summon him he just did what he was supposed to do.
Nah they’re supposed to help you kill it, not kill it themselves. There should still be some challenge to it, instead of the entire fight lasting 10 seconds.
@@skrublordnord69 yeah, I also learned the hard way. Summoned a mage for a boss, I should’ve known something was up when his character name was “goku” 😂
Yeah I didn’t mind in this case cos it’s a reskin and I just didn’t wanna fight him again. But what I wasn’t expecting was it to be over in seconds lol. The thing that I do mind is if I’m on a boss I’m having problems with, and I just want an extra sword to help out, not exactly wipe the boss out in seconds, but to still have a challenge and hopefully come out on top due to teamwork. I’m not against this spell if you just want the fight over with and you’re tired of fighting the same boss over and over again. But i also don’t want a really good and unique boss, that you just want a little bit of help on to balance things out a bit, to just be wiped out in seconds. Completely stripping away the sense of accomplishment and sense of threat the boss actually had. That’s why I like the mimic tear because if you don’t upgrade it, it’s literally just a weaker summon. Moments like this is why I don’t wanna summon anymore. But mainly for the unique bosses like I said. If I, for example, fight the 5th reskin in a row, I’m most likely gonna summon a couple guys just to get it over with.

Make a backup of your save before boss fights if you decide to summon. That way you can reload if you feel like you've been robbed of the experience/achievement.
Hahaha, robbed of glory 🤣. To be fair though, it's a mixed blessing. I couldn't find any summons so had to fight The guy alone. It took a lot of fights to finally break through.
