Rory's sense of tenderness, melancholy and loneliness was profound. This song, Lost at Sea, For the Last Time, the Smile on Your Face are all rife with feeling; the depth of emotion with which Rory imbued his music is the stuff of life itself. MUSIC FLOWED THROUGH HIM. God bless Rory and thank you for gifting him to your people.
I agree sad , lonely, but happy.. A million miles away hits me hard .. reminds me IN A FULL ROOM BUT STILL ALONE .. Really miss him But I know he’s awake now in Heaven…
Hey, I found your music on Internet Archive and have been digging through the internet to find out more about your band. I don't know if you're still active, but just want to let you know how much I enjoy Aught. Thank you.
I'am the happiest man alive! I first heard Rory's music back in 1994. A little too late perhaps, i know, but I was only 21 back then and it's acceptable. His Taste album was my first. Then came a "Million miles away". Then many others after. Four days ago I have discovered "I'm not awake yet"... There is a world in russian language to describe this feeling - PIZDETS! Four straight days listening and replaying in my head.
It's never to late, my first album was his taste album, but I had a friend who turned me on to rory gallagher when I was around 13/14 years old my only regret was I never went and seen him live. His older brother did took one of those high power cameras, got some excellent pictures of him. But am 64 years old now, and I did see my share of rock and roll concerts and if you ever get a chance to see a band. I suggest you go, ' you never know who's going to end up a legend and gone in the blink of an eye.
What a great song with the greatest guitar player of all time. He is the Mozart and Beethoven of the blues and rock. This is the most melodic guitar play I've ever heard. What a guitar god !!!! Rory, you are immortal !!!!!!!
Rory Gallagher, what a kind, honorable, very humble and very special man he was. What a brilliant singer, songwriter and greatest guitarist he was. Listening to the lyrics of his song brings a picture to the listener's mind. How luck many us were to have had the very great privilege to have seen Rory and his Band doing gigs over the years, Rory Gallagher, music is as fresh today as it was when it was first released, his music will last for hundreds of your years to come. His very great talent’s are just banning to get know by people from all over the whole wide world, his name will grow and grow way into the future. Go stamp your feet for the Man
Bela postagem! Abraços do sul do Brasil. Viva Rory Gallegher!
I remember today , the day, time and place 45 years ago when I first heard this song, I was totally captivated by it. Still am. Thanks for posting, great job, with lyrics.
I grew up on Gallagher. In a time in Ireland all you got was one hour a week Larry gogan top charts radio. My love for Rory and phill and van. Horse lips and the others... Knows no limit. They were true musicians reforming Ireland in a time when big tom and the main liners was about as hip as it got..
Thank you Brian spot-on you would have to be Irish to understand your comments and I understand them perfectly. From the Boxing Stadium and a Taste concert to the National Ballroom and Big Tom!
It is so wonderful to see so many who appreciate the music of this genius- versitile and virtuoso and just plain amazing ! Some of his stuff I have yet to see anyone good enough to duplicate !
Deuce is really the only studio album that ever captured... that Rory live sound. I love all of his albums, never made a clunker. Deuce is my all time favorite. Who else could have 2 amazing albums out in the same year....only Rory!
Yes!!!! I have known this song for years! It was a local pub when I was young .... bizzare to place it after all these years but I never knew who it was either just heard it many times when I was a teenager
Just something happens with me listening to most of Rory Gallagher. He has some kind of magic going on. Its not just talent and practice ….it’s an energy. I love it. I keep repeating!
it is amazing: The older i get the more Rory`s music touches my soul. There are only a few guitarists that touches my as deep as Rory did. Of course Jimi, Roy Buchanan and the incredible SRV.
Like an old lady sewing, an old expert - every prick of the needle sharp and fast but so sweet. I'll admit, growing up, I thought he was a bit of a one-trick pony. I only ever heard the raging anthems. How wrong I was. But then again, it's an easy error of judgement to make. Even to this day, I've personally never heard this song played on any radio station - ever. I only discovered the Real Rory here, on RU-vid. He DID have it all. And, even better, he DID do it his way.
RORY IS KINDA ADDICTION ..UNLIKE ANY OF STAR LIKE MUSIC HERO . ONCE YOU UNDERSTAND HIS MUSIC IT BECOMES MANDATORY TO WATCH AND LISTEN TO HIM DAILY . HE IS LIKE JIMI HENDRIX PLUS JIM MORRISON PLUS CLAPTON PLUS JIMMY PAGE ALL ROLLED IN ONE PERSON. TRUST ME.
What's weird I trhibk I've heard this before MANY years ago as a teen bout 18? I'm sure I know it but I never heard of Rory Gallagher... bizzare feel like I completely know it!!! And have for years !... weird
