I don’t leave very many comments but I wanted to say that this video idea is genius!! The whole time u were explaining what u were using I was thinking about the stuff I have in my collection that sounded similar rather than wishing I had what u were using. I love the look u came up with!!
I love this look you’re doing. Our coloring is very similar; almost spot on, except I have orangey freckles. Thanks for the great color idea and how to. I’m gonna give this a try 😊
I love this Linda! It’s funny yes I’m obsessed with makeup lol. But I’m also a cosmetologist/ MUA for 36+ years. I also like to collect eyeshadow palettes. I actually have some very very very old palettes that I obviously don’t use anymore, but if I love the packaging I use them as decor in my beauty room. I always had a hard time getting rid of any of them and just have them in drawers or totes. I don’t know the exact amount but I’m guessing I have over a thousand palettes 😮 I started yesterday to purge declutter etc etc. I want to keep the ones like I said that are meaningful or beautiful for my decor. Then I’m getting all of the useable palettes that I truly love and keeping those and all the others that aren’t expired I going to sanitize and let my son and his friends take what they want. Although my son has a large collection already. But I have a lot of high end and Indy brands I’m sure he will grab the ones he doesn’t have. I want to enjoy what I have and not feel overwhelmed anymore. It all stemmed from finding a brand new palette I bought months ago that I wanted so bad. It was a Natasha Denona palette and I had also bought a melt palette with it. I found it on my shelf in my closet still in the Sephora bag ugh. The sad part about it is, I forgot I bought it and just a few weeks ago I bought it again! I’m so mad at myself. I’m on a very tight budget and I save for months to get the palettes I want. So I ended up giving the new one to my sister. I want to have it down to about 100 palettes I love and use. That way I know what I have and the units I have in my room will fit it all and I’m able to see everything. And I’m doing what you had done, if a new one comes in then one must go. It’s funny to because as much as I love my makeup I’ve noticed over the past I’d say year that I’m not going crazy over new palettes coming out. Unless it’s something really crazy beautiful that is unique, I’ve got every color out there lol the only thing I will make the exception to is melt and Natasha but it’s got to really grab me. After this my next step is my closet and all my clothes. I can probably get rid of 70% of my clothes. I can’t wait to get the totes together with the makeup and clothes to bring over to the women’s shelter and the young girls in need program we have here in my town. Wow sorry I wrote a book here but I do have to say it was you that first inspired me with doing your closet clean out and curating your makeup collection. 💜💜🤗🤗
I'm the same way! It's so hard to get rid of products that you know brought you joy at one point. But I do love that you can pass on what you're not loving anymore to your son/their friends - that's awesome! It'll bring joy to someone else.
Just reading your comment gives me inspiration and also I felt the weight coming off my shoulders... if that makes any sense lol you got this! You'll feel so much better. I feel like with my depression I subscribed to so many beauty boxes and then bought more.. I mean it was a deal, I had to.. or so I'd tell myself. It's overwhelming. I'm trying to change. And I'm not a makeup artist! How did you find the shelter to donate?
This look turned out so beautifully! I love videos like this because sometimes I also will convince myself that I need whatever it is they're instead of looking at what I have already. I appreciate these kinds of videos since they feel more like doing makeup with your friend and you just have fun with what you've got 😊
I happily watch videos that review new products and ones that talk about holy grails, newly rediscovered loves, etc. But I also just thoroughly enjoy videos like this one where the products are described: a peachy gold highlighter, a teal shimmer eyeshadow, etc. The end look was fab, Linda!
This is good! I already do this when I’m inspired (and also to talk myself down from a new palette purchase), but never thought about NOT sharing the products themselves. Thank you, Linda!
I really like this idea, I don't feel that I have to have a certain pallet or brand just the color and even that is subjective. I really enjoyed this video, thanks!!!
I can’t wait until I’m retired because I expect I will PLAY with my make up! I am pretty sure I know that teal, or a similar…you don’t have the specific palette anymore, but I know you have the brand that made it. Pretty combo…I’d never have thought of it!
I love that you know what look you want and you create it, amazingly!! I feel like I end up doing the same thing bc I never know what to do, or in in a rush! Thank you for reminding me to have fun! (I'm not this bold, but still lol) happy to hear you're both better now ❤
Absolutely stunning look! I really appreciate just going through our products using what we have and rediscovering those products that we just had to have so badly! Thanks for the motivation to go and rediscover what I have in my make-up drawers. P.S. I'm in love with your tattoos, they are beautiful!
I DID go look at the palettes (favorite lineage of makeup). I keep forgetting you don't HAVE to stick to just one palette, and I have a drawer and a half of stuff to use. Thank you! Your makeup is, and YOU (duh), are gorgeous, and now I wanna play with more makeup ideas.
I just did this with brushes. I recently started using cream/liquid blushes and eyeshadows and find using my fingers not always the best application. So I was CONVINCED I needed new brushes to only use with those products. But when I looked through my brushes that I wasn't reaching for to use with powder eyeshadow anyway, I decided to try to dedicate some of those to use with the cream products and see if I can get them to work.
So i know its not mentioned in this video but i wanted to tell you that i had to buy the aquanet tumbler that you showed in your last video lol so thank you
I love this type of video. I find that I stopped watching makeup videos because I started coveting the products. I have a large collection, so I really need to not look to get more makeup.
I don’t have a grunge green palette. What’s a good palette that isn’t melts Gemini. I am looking at odens eye stone and rock palette and sugar drizzles pickle palette
