It's pretty simple. If you break down the family unit you get lots of individuals. Individuals alone are weak, and can easily be manipulated to consume more stuff. That allows companies to sell more stuff. But the first step of destroying the family unit and its inherent values has to be achieved first. Some of these companies are a bit premature moving onto step 2 a bit early.
