I'm Not Gymshark CEO Anymore 

In the rise of the creatives, I’m proud to announce that I’ve made the decision to move away from the CEO role at Gymshark, and focus on my strengths as the Chief Brand Officer (CBO). I dedicate every single day to making sure that becomes Gymshark the greatest brand in the world. Gone are the days of pumping out tons of irrelevant product and throwing them into any store that will stock it. We are creating only the most beautiful, purposeful product that we want to wear, and create the experiences that we want to be a part of. I want nothing more to one day have my own design firm with a group of graphic designers working alongside me by the time I'm 25. I'm currently 20 years old and been designing roughly over 2 years. Been getting a decent amount of exposure, and collaborations though my main platform being instagram. Could not relate to this video so much. I noticed recently that you and your company are going more high end, as far as pricing and quality. Do you plan to keep a lot of your prices as reasonable as the flex leggings and all of that? Or do you plan to stray away from that and become more like your competitions prices. I fell in love with gymshark because it is reasonably priced and obtainable for the every day consumer. So I would love to hear your goals for the future as far as that.

Must've been a painful move to surrender some level of control within your own company but definitely a good decision from a business point of view. By utilising everyone's strengths (yourself included) to the best of their ability, you're building an incredibly strong platform for the company to operate on. The massively successful beginnings with pave the foundations to even greater things and take the company to new heights. I met you at Bodypower last month and you seemed like a really down-to-earth guy, easy to talk to/approach, without a doubt the friendliest person I met that weekend. working with athletes, who are real-ass people (for example Nikki B, Steve Cook) helped a lot with Gymshark growth and this is what sets you apart from other companies. I watch these people regularly and seeing them enjoy your clothing line, looking bomb truly encourages to purchuse your items. These are just very likeable, helpful, not self-centered athletes and I truly admire what you've all have accomplished since the very beginning.

Really like the light and airy design area that's been created - as it should be , clean, clear and bright with natural light. And kudos on the deciding what's right for you..I found this out sort of in the last year Ben, though I could something which was similar aligned to my skillset but in the end the role wasn't quite me. At one time they'd be the 'tough and lump it' mentally within businesses but it's now recognised more that it's more beneficial to be open as to where skill sets aligned. Awesome to watch and probably the most open company in existence with what the company does to grow! As a business owner myself I can say that you are definitely on track and doing everything right! My thoughts though are while the current way that you have sponsored spokes models off of RU-vid has resulted in rapid growth off of their popularity on RU-vid I think that the company has grown to the point that you need to start recruiting some pro level athletes to take things to the next level! While the high school age "rich" kids will sell to those in their age group there is a whole big market out there some who have never heard of Gymshark! The kids who you have as Ambassadors currently have done nothing but make RU-vid videos about their weightlifting while in high school and have accomplished nothing but that and some have never even been in a competition yet are giving advise like they were pros along with drama of the fussing and fighting with their friends in their videos. While it is good to always have young talent up and coming it is also money in the bank to have pro level people who have a proven track record of accomplishments to back themselves and the product to help take things to the next level and to expand into different age groups!

Hey Ben! Great video. I think you should do a video on the history of all your athletes. Like how gymshark gets them and adds them to the team! There are so many of us out there who want to be part of the team and it would be interesting to see how that works!

Respect the decision man!! doing what you love as a CBO is where you want to be and what you want to excel in. I feel history repeats though, Steve Jobs had a similar thing happen to him as a creative person and look what happened with him and his story. Yes there are amazing CEO's out there than are able to execute certain models "growth" " amalgamation " " cost out" etc. It sounds like the new CEO should have just been hired on as a COO instead? if the role of managing day to day business ops?. The CEO is and always should be the leader, as it always starts and finishes with the head of the company, which is still what your new role as CBO sounds like. Totally understand when you get into the typical large style business with directors , boards and shareholders (if there are any) where dividends etc are the priority that boards will always want someone with a track record to drive the ship - but this doesn't always work out positively for all founding parties Much love ben!! keep killing it with your relevant gear!! 100m sales here you come!
