*THE NO SPOILERS POST* Thank you for watching! Let me know the best things that happened to you this month. Who is excited about my big news (again, sorry it’s not a baby) and who will be there in person???
I love that you will be coming to America!! I live on the east coast so I won't be able to meet you in LA. :( I live in Atlanta GA. Boo....wishing I lived in LA right now
That was such a lovely video! I’m twelve and have hyper mobility too, it mainly manifests itself in my knees but also my ankles and hips. I do physiotherapy and wear a knee brace and some days it hurts so much. I have to say you’re my inspiration, the way you look on the bright side and are so positive even on a bad day is the type of person I aspire to be. Thank you so much for making my day when you post!
Thank you so much lovely ♥️ I’m really glad I can help you through my videos. You sound like you’re a pretty amazing person so I hope we get to meet one day xxx
Im from a family of hyper moblie people mostly the girls and we all exersize really reguraly some of us can only manage yoga on the dayle and others are real gym bunnies when i was younger i was compleatly broken by my hyper moblity i was left out pf so much simply because it wasnt worth the risk if trying to run with the other children i didnt get moving till i was in my late teans other then physio then i started yoga and then after a few years the gym start slowly but get moving build more mussel around your problem aireas the sooner the better and then you will come into less problems as you age
What worked in Malaysia vlogs: A lot of things! But especially Jessica's voice overs (sooo lovely voice) and the scrapbook style. I loved to read when I was younger and I read tons of books. I also really liked historical fictions or just, really old books so it was historical to me even though it wasn't when it was written. But sadly, my chronic fatigue doesn't allow me to read anymore. I really miss it. I've tried audiobooks, but I just fall asleep to that (yay chronic fatigue) and children's books are quite nice (the Moomin especially). But I really miss the long epic stories that I used to read growing up and in my teens. I hope I'll be able to read again like that one day!
Congrats on being noticed and valued by the RU-vidy powers that be, I'm glad people the big wigs with influence have seen how remarkably wonderful you are and see that LA needs some Jessica&Claudia. Yay! 😘😂 #ProudAF Everyone needs a daily dose of you guys xxxxxx
ha ha ha, I so get being hyped after IW! Strange definitely has a plan. He swore he wouldn't give up the Time stone for Tony and Peter's lives but as soon as he's seen the future he's willing to...? Certainly a plan in motion there! I have an uncomfortable feeling that since all of the original Avengers are left there will be some kind of life-swap to bring the new ones back. I hope not though!
Omg IW was so awesome and such a rollercoaster! But they can't be dead, how can Tchalla be dead if they have announced that there will be another Black Panther film?! I just can't wait for may next year aaah so excited!!
I was shocked at how many people *cough* dint make it. But I loved the bubble gun scene. And in Black Panther I loved his sister and how much of a nerd she was. She was like the Tony stark of Wombie (sp?)
I actually really enjoyed the whole Malaysian vlog series! The drone shots, the panoramic shots, the cute stop-motion shots, the fun chatty bits... everything was just lovely. And of course, the energy from you and Claud was just essential to any of those videos.
You are always stunningly gorgeous, but something about the lighting and your clothes and makeup in the beginning and end of this video just absolutely blew me away with how incredible you look! I especially love when you smile - it’s contagious!
Me being shook about _how the heck are all her books so neat_ like, there's not a single dog ear! Not even a little at the edges of the cover which I could never seem to protect- AND THEY'RE CLEAN (by that I mean I can't see any imperfections as in they look totally new, no dirt, no plastic protection, nothing)
*OMG I'VE NEVER BEEN SO UPSET ABOUT MISSING VIDCON!!* 😭 *I'M SO HAPPY THEY'VE INVITED YOU THOUGH* 😀❤! *I love that they have recgonized you and the wonderfulness you put out!!*
Sorry that you're feeling a bit poo today... I would have to say that my favourite thing this month would have to be...you! :P It's a bit cheesy, obviously. But I've been feeling a bit poo for a while, and the rabbithole somehow led me to this delightful place on the internet. So I've been watching more of your videos than it is probably wise to admit to. But your outlook on life just makes me look on many things in a new perspective, and I really enjoy your talks and thoughts about both everyday things and more serious issues. So, here I am, a straight male with no previous interest in fashion or make-up, binge-watching your hair and make-up tutorials. :P Just because of your lovely personality. And Claudia. Obviously I adore her too!
my favourite thing this month is Janelle Monae's album Dirty Computer (and I'm going to her concert :) ). my fave Malaysia videos were Being Gay In Asia and The Most Beautiful Place Yet!!! I loved the drone shots so much and also the point of view shots!! the outtakes were super cute too
Love the medieval period - all through from 'Dark' age to Tudor. We work in Living History sometimes (so fun!). Also recently discovered via second job (genealogy) that Mum is a 22nd Great Granddaughter of Empress Matilda. Veg crisps - I make my own now. So nommy. Takes a little organising in case I want to make them a day I can't slice things, but most of the veggies taht would make crisps also freeze well ;) If I do anything other than beetroot (parsnips, carrots etc) I'll boil them for about 5 mins, then pat them dry (If I'm super organised I have that done *way* ahead on a good day too before the freezer). Anyhoo, dried off par-boiled sliced veg (or sliced beetroot straight off), go into a bowl with 1tbsp olive oil and whatever seasoning I fancy. Then spread on a dry baking sheet in a single layer. Parmesan/Grana/etc on top if feeling very decadent/for dinner party, then bake for 10-15 mins. - Hard part is letting them cool before eating! ;)
When I find something that interests me I'm already gone and will never leave that damn fandom. I also tend to buy a lot of merch and fill my whole life with that thing so yeah I have a lot of different fandom t-shirts. I always go extra hard and always want to know everything there is to know about that thing.
My favorite thing for April was actually you! I just recently discovered your channel and I am similar to you in the obsessive personality when finding things I like. So my obsessive thing this month was you and your lovely channel! Thank you so much for bringing us into your life and letting us enjoy your lovely personality
My favorite thing this month is your channel. I discovered your channel this month and I am loving it! Being American I loved your use of the word ”Stoked” also 😁
In march, my cousin and I went to the Banyos de Coamo in Coamo, Puerto Rico. They are hot pools. One is hot and the other is warm. It was very relaxing and soothing.
👋🏻 crappy ligaments, crappy muscles and crappy nerves! Crappy heart lungs and kidneys too! Plus I’m a chronic cluster head just to make things even more interesting, like I didn’t have enough severe chronic pain prior to its arrival! My favourite thing this month was my husband dying my hair blue and my awesome son being awesome!
Not sure if you know but they filmed some of the White Queen and the White princess in Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe, Cheltenham. Which is where I used to work and I used to help out with craft services because I ran the visitor centre cafe. If you havent yet I would highly recommend that you visit, the Tudor history there is very well presented, Anne Bolynn stayed there many times and it is the burial place of Queen Katheryn Parr.
Ooh, thanks, I've wondered about those! I love the Tudors, plantagenets and, oddly, anything to do with Versailles. Thank you for the recommendation. Xxx
My favorite video from your Malaysia trip was the "Trying weird Asian fruit". I love the random challenges videos like the "Style swap". I love seeing more of your personality and seeing you have fun .
I just want to say thank you Jessica. You inspire me to keep going. Today I got diagnosed with two chronic illnesses in addition to the one I already have. One of them isn’t that severe, but it comes with hyper mobility.
1. You are the most precious. 2. I haven't watched ALL of your Malaysia videos, but my favorite one so far was the haul video. The teddy bear's commentary made me laugh really hard. 3. I've read "The Other Boleyn Girl," and I loved it, but I haven't read any other Philippa Gregory - I'll have to check out her other books! 4. I AM DECEASED FROM INFINITY WAR OH MY GOSH. I literally cried so hard I left the theatre with snot on my shirt. After the movie was over, my boyfriend just sat there and held me (it was incredibly sweet of him), and once I stopped bawling, I immediately texted everyone I knew who'd seen it. We saw it opening weekend, and I'm still not over it. 5. I also have a very obsessive personality. It's SO. REAL.
I definitely resonate with the "doing lots and then being unable to do life after". Chronic pain all over (osteoarthritis, hypermobility, surgery scarring etc).
I think it's so cool that you read the White Queen, the Red Queen, and the Lady of the Rivers. My thesis class for medieval history was an entire semester of those books and comparing them to the medieval history. We also looked at how authors in general interpret history and make it interesting (especially when we know how it ends). We even got to interview Philippa Gregory!
Now I wish I could afford to go to vidcon! I live not too far away but oof. Super glad you're getting the opportunity, though! If you get the chance to sight see, I highly recommend the "last bookstore". It's a bit chaotic and you'd probably get through it best on crutches but it's so cool! There's also a decent comic book section on the ground floor.
Jessica Kellgren-Fozard oh fabulous I’ll put my name down now! Oh ps I was watching your Vlogmas when I was sewing Christmas decorations the other day! Really enjoyed it! 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻☺️
Jessica Kellgren-Fozard you should do a vintage tea party in every country in the U.K. (like one in England, one in Ireland, one in Scotland and one in wales) bc honestly I’d love to meet you but it’s quite a trek down to England if you only did one
Love love love Philippa Gregory! I got sucked into her books by The Other Boleyn Girl and currently have an entire shelf of her books. If you haven't read it, you totally should! There's a whole bunch that follow King Henry's mad reign and they're all so good!!
I'm with you Jessica. I have Hyper-mobile Elhers Danlos Syndrome. so all sorts of joint issues. that and other chronic illness. watching your videos helps me feel less alone and like I can actually do the things and when I can sometimes it's okay. cause hey she understands too. Jessica gets it. thank you for being amazing.
I completely relate re: buying new shoes for comfort! I have flat feet so shoes need to have an arch to them, and it makes buying new shoes a big pain. (I also have really long and thin feet, so usually when I buy shoes they fit me lengthwise but are too wide :( My favorite thing this month is I finally got around to cleaning my room after a long while, and it was really painful bc chronic pain but I feel a lot better having gotten it done! I'm super excited for you to go to vidcon! I can't go but I will live vicariously through the people that'll see you and support you!
Oh my gosh! I am so excited! I am now going to try and make it JUST to see you! I have never wanted to go but now I have a reason! That’s so amazing that they are supporting you!!!
I too have wimpy wrists. I have hypermobile EDS, which is worst in my wrists, so I cannot open doors for myself. I can cheat with push doors by using my back. My neck is also severely affected, so I can't grow out my hair. It makes me appreciate the work people, like you, put into their hair.
I think you might like ‘The Shadow of the Wind’ and the following books. Every book has a different POV on the same absolutely epic storyline, set in 1900’s Barcelona and is full of epic plot twists. The Shadow of the Wind is about a young boy who gets his hands on a book, which swept him away, and he’s determined to find more books by the same author. He discovers nearly all of his books have been burned, and epicness begins.
We have something similar to fun chips in the US!!! They’re called Veggie Straws ☺️ they’re gluten free! You can get some when you come to visit us during vidcon! They’re sold in just about every supermarket...
If you loved the phillipa Gregory books.....buy the box set dvds of the white queen and white princess.....they are a real treat. I have read all her books and my favourites are the wideacre trilogy. Am sure you would love them too xx
"The Constant Princess" is my favourite Philippa Gregory book! It was the first one I read of hers. "The Queens Fool" is brilliant too. But please please read the constant princess xx
You are absolutely adorable! I’m so happy to hear that you are coming to the USA! I’m relatively new to your channel, but you manage to make me smile with your amazing videos each and every time! Hope you have a good time at VidCon.
I live in LA but will be unable to go to Vidcon. But I do hope you and Claud enjoy yourselves here. And I hope you get to meet up with the Besame Cosmetics people who are based in the area. I cannot wait for the vlogs. I'm so excited for you!
I absolutely love history, (I want to be a Historian when I'm older!) my favourite period of history is definitely the tudors and I am new to Philippa Gregory, I've just started reading the white queen and can't wait to read more! My childhood was entirely made up of horrible histories (both the books and the TV series - in fact I still know most of the songs off by heart 😂)
Lissie Hickman Yay horrible histories! They’re so good I know all the songs too my favourite is the monarchs song (Also I can’t quite tell but I think your icon is missy from dr who which is rad)
i’m the exact same!!! i get so obsessed with things, it’s slightly worrying! i too love and are obsessed with history and historical fiction. another amazing book by philippa gregory is 3 sisters, 3 queens. it’s about margaret tudor, mary tudor & katherine of aragon. it’s probably my favourite book by philippa gregory by far 💘💘💘
I have found two great brands of shoes for EDS hypermobility etc they are Ramarim shoes and Frankie4. Frankie4 are Australian but ship internationally and are seriously worth the cost. Both are so worth it.
Congrats on the VidCon news! I hope you have a wonderful time and that the heat isn't too intense! It's a dry heat in LA, and it'll sap your energy super quick.
Congratulations Jessica and Claudia. Enjoy it :) Really enjoyed the random naming of things, the cooking video and the use of the drone. Really excellent different camera work gave your videos that extra dazzle. Cute couple moments in the videos we’re heart melting. Enjoyed seeing the conversations between you and Claudia through the content delivery. You’re a great team but you can still carry your own (obviously) on solo videos too. Also yes to Infinity War (spoilers so stop reading this) Spider-Man, devastated me, the others hurt but not as attached to them as Spider-Man. The relief on Scarlet Witches face was sad too. The acting! Finally, depressingly Gomorrah. Then happily, Captain Marvel to the rescue! Don’t know if I can mentally handle the wait to Infinity War 2.
Omg, I'm the same way-- I get "into" things to the point where those things become like... 90% of my life. When I was little I'd go through "phases" (I also had a Spice Girls phase! :P) and I'm still the same way, although there are a handful of things that have stuck with me for my entire life. I recently found out (at the ripe old age of 26...) that I have Asperger's, so that's probably why I latch onto things the way I do. MEDIEVAL/RENAISSANCE HISTORY IS MY ABSOLUTE JAM! I wish I had friends to talk to about it! This video made me so happy, haha.
NO Infinity Wars spoilers, kiddos seeing it later today and I will accidentally spoiler it so I'm staying away from all spoilers! Also, the best parts of the Malaysia videos for me are the ones where Claude and you are all sweet...its always inspiring the little bits of love that are off guard, the beaches looked amazing and the shopping! I'm upset I live in NY not Cali and I won't get to see you! Enjoy America, pay no attention to our politics or news channels if you wanna stay calm and sane ! All the love, happy you both made it home ok!!!
Also a notable fan of vegetable crisps. They used to be hard to get hold of (in London), getting easier but i think they might be fried not freeze dried, the ones I've seen. Can keep an eye out for ones you say you're interested in and try to remember to comment back if find goodies. PS I feel a little bad for having to check for dairy at restaurants when in a work crowd - my family more used to it and my sister has more allergies (egg too) so she gets the attention. I do get asked about it and what happens if I have some when in work groups but generally folk are gracious; this company has good people. I am lucky.
My favourite this month was actually something I did. I had my final exams, which are super important for my final grade that decides which university I can go to. The written part consists of four exams, each six hours except for one that is four hours long. Now, after being diagnosed with ADHD last year I had all kinds of coaching from a psychologist and a teacher and so on but at the beginning of this year, I somehow gave up. I had enough of it, it was very tiring for me and I told them I had found a strategy and was super happy. That wasn't really true and I slacked behind on my normal school participation, which is a major part of my grade as well. When I finished school in late March (the exams are outside the semesters), I tried to motivate myself to study really hard and used to get a small crisis every time an exam came close. The truth is, due to me being gifted I never really had to actively study for tests and I felt really overwhelmed, but I did it. I sat down, organised my materials and studied. Now I have finished all my written exams and I feel confident about their outcome. You have to know, this month wasn't particularly easy on me and I didn't want to be the one responsible for destroying mine and my best friend's future because I want to move in with her. Spending weeks alone in your house makes you think a lot. But luckily, I had my parents that helped me learn some life skills, a great friend who wrote encouraging messages, my lovely grandmother that thought of me, called me and bought me my favourite kind of chocolate and my weekly group at church that secured my social contacts with people outside of the whole stress. Watching RU-vid also had a huge part in keeping me sane. And after my last exam, I went to the cinema to watch Infinity War as a treat. It wasn't exactly that. So yeah, my favourite thing is that I managed to do that. Only the oral part to come.
Congratulations on the very exciting news that you are coming to LA! 🙂 I am sad because I will not be able to see you since I cannot travel.😞 I totally relate to being really obsessive! It was very fun to hear you talk about your progression of obsessions! Spice Girls lol! (I saw this video the day it came out, and it took me this long to desperately reevaluate whether I can travel or not to come see you!) *Edited for punctuation
Oh. History books. My wife is a medical historian and she collects Victorian medical books. Our house is 1950s vintage and 1800’s medical books. We are a strange old lot. I’m going to read ALL of those books. EDIT: I have hypermobility in my left knee, right shoulder and my left hip. You’re certainly not alone!
Oooh! Those books sound so interesting! Historical fiction is so lovely... I'd have to say my favorite thing this month was my new friend! She and I met in my English class and we've grow pretty close!
Haha. I love you saying "stoked". I don't know if it's the accent or the vintage style but it's a charming sort of clash when you say it. I don't have hypermobility issues but I do have a fickle nerve in one leg. I can wear flats or six inch heels but anything between 3-5 inches is days of painful throbbing. If I wear 1-2 inch heels it feels like I've implanted a vibrating alarm in my left leg. I'm wearing either granny or dominatrix for dress shoes, not much in between.
Ahhhh! I will be on the east coast for VidCon but I'm so excited that you both are going!! I'm loving Bookstagrammers this month. And the new cake I baked for the first time this weekend- blood orange cake with swiss meringue buttercream, rapsberries in the filling buttercream portion, and blood orange royal icing on top. I added some raspberries for decoration and of course some sugar pearls!
Never have I related more to someone than when you were talking about your obsessions haha! (Buffy was definitely one of mine although my “person” was Willow🔮🙃). Congrats on Vidcon!!!!! Wish I could be there but will be with you in spirit;) P.s. I would personally love to hear you talk about books btw😉xxx
Wanted to add a shoe suggestion, as I understand you can get them in the UK. After years of problems (plantar faciitis , blown valves due to clotting issues, and RSD/CRPS), I saw an adorable pair of shoes on the Barking Dog Shoes blog and I had to have them. Alegria shoes are amazing for people with foot pain and other issues. For instance, I don't have a dropped foot, but my ankle in my left leg is pretty much useless as a joint. Imagine walking with a foot that doesn't bend! Anyway, I love your videos, and wanted to share one of MY (many, many) obsessions because it might be good for your feet!
1. I think you can get air dried sweet potato slices or beetroot slices from Tesco! I know they used to do them but I ate too many so we don’t get them any more 👀 2. OH MY GOD I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY DID THAT!! I couldn’t go and see it so my friend spent about two hours telling me what happened moment by moment, and it was like I was there (which was both kind and impressive) and OH MY GOD! It’s kind of a master stroke in terms of storytelling because superhero movies are very formulaic in the whole -bad guy vs good guy, good guy wins thing. But gah! I’m not sure I’m even up to watching it because I can’t watch the sweet summer child that is Tom Holland’s Spidey go through that.
Hi there! First time commenter here. :) OH MAN I LOVE ME SOME HISTORICAL BOOKS! I'll have to check those out. I normally read about 1930s-1950s the most but lately I've been trying to branch out some more. I also have problems with shoe comfort. I'm not entirely sure what to call it but I was born with a birth defect where I couldn't step flat (I walked like I was wearing heels if that makes sense) and even though I've had surgery to correct it, my heels are smaller than they're supposed to be so I step out of shoes a lot and it makes it so hard to find any that will fit comfortably. Memory foam sneakers are my best friend right now! I know it's not exactly the same but I rarely meet anyone with similar issues. Congrats on VidCon!! That sounds like loads of fun. Safe travels!
I've got hypermobility in my knees and ankles (also my hips, but all the problems on that front mostly cause pain further down. It's a guessing game where the pain will be any given day. I'm glad you've found shoes that work for you.
I'm the same! So glad you're not into k-pop...life is miserable being obsessive and being into k-pop 😭 it's a never ending struggle. And I'm so happy that you enjoyed Malaysia!
