I never in a million years thought she would sing this live. I grew up in the same household. This song absolutely breaks my heart and simultaneously provokes my PTSD.

Lets be honest ! Her voice is the best voice of all time! Forget Lady Gaga or Madonna ! This women has the most powerfull of the world! This song is so sad and I respect Christina for singing it and opening her heart in front of so many people! :) Nobody has the right to judge her just because her last album wasnt that successfull! I can't believe that some people would say that this is "fake" and how anyone could dislike this performance. To put ones heart out, as one who has been abused mentally, I can't imagine physical violence.... She is a strong woman and is still suffering through things in her life and she keeps pulling through. This is one of the greatest performances I've ever seen.
apparently we had the same childhood...:"( i used to be a hardcore britney fan(&xtina hater for many years),but after hearing this song and all her amazing and honest ballads i really respect her as an artist and as a woman....she had the guts to be open about her childhood...even now and i may be a man,but i dont have the guts to be open about it,even if it wasnt my fault at all..... :((((((
@@patricksibley6713 I had the same. My abusive alcoholic dad just tore our family up and I'm working on myself to get better... I am doing better.. I will never give up.. but it's difficult at times. Stay strong.
hearing the regular song chokes me up, knowing my past. watching her sing herself to tears with it, makes me literally cry. now THAT is what i call talent. she is just pure talent. no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
Looking at this, thinking about what she went through, im sitting here like... She is so strong, it sounds so simple, being ''strong'' but this shows what Strong really means.

She’s amazing, this will always be one of my favorite live performances from her... You can tell how much this song affects by her body language (rocking back and forth to comfort herself) and the shaking in her voice
oh my gosh, i don't think there has ever been a time where I've seeb her open up before this... at least in a performance... this is arguably her most raw and powerful performance...
The amazing part about being a performer is that you can take your pain and relate to those around you who might be going through the same thing. You can use the incredible gift of singing you have been given to help heal those around you. Christina demonstrates this perfectly, there are no words to describe how many lives she has touched by being vulnerable. Good job baby :)
i remember everything my dad used to do to my mom in front of us me and my brothers and the way we were treated by him. I love my dad but there's things that are just hard to forget. Seeing my mom so helpless during those times even today still breaks my heart just to remember her being like that, I thank God for my mom and to give us the strength that help us during those times 🙏😔
Wow. I've never heard this live until now. I've always related to this song so deeply it has always been incredibly hard for me to listen to, but also relieving in a way because it allows me to feel and let my emotions out, but hearing her talk about her experience and visibly seeing the emotion instead of just hearing it in her voice breaks my heart on a different level. I always cry when I hear this song, especially the part where she says "I'm okay" and her voice just cracks it brings me so much pain and heartache. I can only imagine how difficult this must've been for her to sing in front of an audience.

@NewJerseyJay her momo has talked about the absuse before to and this was on a cd ctripped during her drity days that she has never sang before because its was to painful 4 her u can see the pain in her as she sings it
