These league videos are definitely entertaining probably my favorite vids on the channel

Thank U for saying that about league vs the tour. Just the sport shot tournaments, which has PBA patterns, are a killer by themselves.

There is 3x more oil on the middle of the lane on a house shot vs a sport, so you can usually stay in one place longer. You usually only have to move 3-5 boards through game 2. There is also so much more oil, that you get more carry-down. I usually have to move back right 1-2 boards by the third game due to the carry-down.

Challenge idea: Figure it out, bring whatever equipment you need to bowl the best series so far.

I haven't bowled in about a decade. I can't wait to start back again.

I personally love all the videos you put out but honestly feel that the league nights are the most genuine and the truth of bowling. Everyone gets frustrated and if you dont you are lying great vids speaking to the haters

13:00 encapsulates league in a nut shell. i only use 1 ball in my league cause there's not much point switching. its a pin down venom shock and i throw it straight at 5 standing at 20. i've maybe moved target once or twice and feet a total of 4 boards in 8 weeks. sure i could ball up and hook it more but theyre just so inconsistent itll just make me more angry so i just keep it simple and dont change.

Loving the videos Darren, I learned a lot just from the little things in each video. Last night in league with a HCP of 103 I bowled a 195 scratch then a 163 and I definitely attribute that to your videos. Even if you are just messing around and cracking jokes it still is educational. Keep it up man!

I know at a high level, it's very good practice to shoot straight at your spares...but at Jesse's level where he's not super accurate yet, I think he should probably be hooking at left side spares and using the house shot to his benefit to get a little extra miss room on those. Just my 2c

Atleast they seems relatively the same every week. Some weeks in my league I start at the bottom of the bag on fresh, other days I have to start at the top. You actually have to bring 6 balls.

Jesse, I'm also a 2-handed, low speed, high rev, league bowler. I suggest you start with the Pitch Black going from around 13 to 8. You will likely be able to play close to that most of the night. It may mess with Darren's shot a little, but he's over here complaining about a 250 and 900 series.

when l am missing off and on like that, l move to down and in outside. take hand out of it and use a weaker ball, my desert tank, last week house lanes were sopping with oil and nothing outside 8, first game 168, then changed moving far outside playing straight up 5 board took hand out of the Desert tank and and let it roll up. 238 236, was amazing l was striking with out putting anythign into the release

I'll use the same ball all the time in league. If my ball has ths right angle then I can just move left or stay behind it and not have much axis rotation. Then possibly try to get the ball farther downlane if its really cooked. I find switching balls every game will complicate things and make it harder to do good. Only switch when you know your current ball will not roll right through the pins.

Idk if anyone knows but if league doesn’t do a ton for pro practice, how, where, and with what oil should one practice to achieve that goal?

If i may suggest a one ball session, if like to see you use the Roto Grip Rubicon. Is one i have and would like to see what it can do in the hands of someone that has the skills. My best scratch score is 233. And ive only been bowling for 7 months. Thank you for the videos, take care

I love how much you complain, it just shows that you expect perfection each shot and you can tell when you don’t throw a good shot even when it strikes on camera. It proves how much better pros are than even the best league bowler.

I feel ya DTang im.learning the sports pattern and i like them more than league for me it seems like in league you throw the same shot 5 times and get different reactions

I feel the exact same way about league... The house shot is so frustrating... I'd rather bowl a flatter pattern cause it seems to make way more sense in my head

My favorite part of these comments is watching a bunch of us league hacks giving advice to a PBA national champion on how to play the lanes. Oh, and I vote for the four oldest Storm balls you own (that still fit you) next week, whatever they are. I still have an original Storm Thunder that I use every now and then.

Hey! I actually do love league! My average until this year had been 175. I got a Venom shock and my average is now 195. Got a 699 series last week. So, I LOVE league :-)
