So refreshing to see that you are going to share all content without membership AND that you will be focusing on the ART and CREATIVITY of photography. I scour RU-vid looking for that content. So many gear reviews... For someone like me, who just loves the art of photography, who isn't a full time professional photographer, and who can't constantly upgrade my camera or lenses, it's frustrating to only find more gear reviews. Thank you for the changes!

I'm 100% behind this change, though I am afraid I have never been in a position to pay for a membership during the years I have been following you. Gear is fun. Great fun. I have a studio with a lot of gear that is essentially superfluous ...all purchased through a need being created by a RU-vid 'personality' using it in a video and 'recommending' it ... either flat out or by inference. This is the most refreshing announcement I have seen in years. I've been a fan since the beginning and wish all the best to you and your family. Your bravery, honesty and sincerity will be appreciated by all except those creating videos to get monetized for showing and recommending products. You go Girl!

Good on you Leigh. There are a lot of spec youtubers out there, but not many back to basics, or how too's. There is another channel I watch that is good at explaining the how to, but also a fair bit of DIY lighting, backgrounds, accessories and props that don't cost a fortune.

Leigh, I was a member when I was able to, and from your basic videos I was able to learn everything that seemed impossible about what WAS the inscrutable world of photography. Now, I have hundreds of beautiful images of my family, and have booked a couple paying clients who have liked my work. The beautifully captured priceless memories my family and loved ones now have because of an education that started with you is something I will always be grateful. Glad I stopped in, as I haven't for a year or so, as all the reviews of 'mirrorless' and of many brands, was what had me leave, as I'm a DSLR user, and have no interest in moving to mirrorless, so I thought there was no reason to continue watching. This new journey will now have me watching more of your video's, as it's the art of photography that I find dear to my heart, and not the challenge of each camera company trying to outdo the next one! With a bit of interest, living on the west coast of Canada, I now find myself north of Tuscon, giving me a whole different view compared to where I live, and of course closer to where you and Raymond get to find all those interesting locations you've shown us over the years! Glad I stopped in, as the timing could not have been better, in finding this news you've presented! You two stay safe!

Love your channel gear reviews are good I watch when I need to but I by far prefer watching a photographer use the kit in a strong meaningful honest and skilful way. Personally I’ve had a camera on hand for 40 years I’ve been a press photographer for 20 years I’ve been on RU-vid 4 years I’m not techy minded but I get by my priority is the photography and just being out there doing it. Congrats on giving back to the community who love and support you guys. Giving is far better than receiving ❤️📷❤️

I TOTALLY agree with your new direction. Yes, there are lots of gear reviewers so you CAN focus on other things that you love and we will all keep watching your channel. When I was paying I appreciated using your priority address and the speed at which you patiently answered my questions. I went on a gear acquisition spree a few years ago and even though I loved learning to work with different manufacturers' cameras essentially all of them did a great job taking pictures. The key is getting creative so I look forward to your new videos.

This is a great direction to go. As much as I get a lot from them, it seems 98% of the suggested photography channels are about gear. I have been shooting for over 40 years processing my own film and prints before going digital and I keep playing with the idea to make start a channel all about the "photography" of the photography. We now days tend to worry sooo much about gear that we lose that focus and creativity of just shooting. I'm glad you see that too. Who knows, maybe we'll cross paths creating "photography" videos someday... Best of luck.

10 years later I bought again my first DSLR. In 2012.. your still pretty.. ma'am I just bought last month my d7100 my dream DSLR. I know mirrorless cAmera is start to become the norm in the photography world but I'm injoing my d7100 I'm glad I stumbled on your RU-vid page again
