Frank Hannaway I almost agree with you 100%, but I think Russ is 101% hot lol, no matter what his blood lines are. Chris is one lucky man to have such a handsome guy who also appears to have a super nice personality.
@@carrotjuse : Persians are the largest ethnic and cultural group in Iran, making up over half the county, but there are other ethnic groups there as well. The word "Persian" is the most appropriate description of a person's appearance, not Iranian.
Finally I found someone who is also part of the Genographic Project! I am Chilean, but I found out I am 52% Southern Europe, 26% Native American, 7% Great Britain and Ireland, 7% Eastern Asia, 2% Central Asia and 2% Northern Africa. I am also 1.1% Neardenthal. My Native American component is very similar to the Colombian and Puerto Rican peoples. I really enjoyed my results too!! Hugs!!!
@WORTHEVERYMILE -- they said NORTHeast Asia,,, not SouthWest,,, so in the NorthEast there is Siberia, China, Japan, Korea, etc... but i still don't think he has any of the traits of those people,,, he looks more like Israeli, Greek, Italian,,, ya can not discount that large prominent nose, his darker skin, his triangular face, baby blues, etc
So glad to see you guys back in my notifications, I missed you!! I’m thinking about getting my DNA tested pretty soon. I’m dying to see what all my family is right about, what we’ve thought we were all this time. He definitely looks Greek or Persian to me.
How awesome! I did a DNA test as well. But, my test was from 23andMe. I did a video on it. :-) You could have Native in you. Don't forget that the Northeast Asian could also be the group that crossed the Bering Straits. My results were a big shock to me in the most wonderful way. I had always thought of myself as a mutt. But, I never knew just how true that was until I got my results. :-)
Anna, Yeah, I am Romani, honestly his skin is more SW Asian than the "olive" Mediterranean. Its actually a good thing, the skin is "yellow" beause of a layer of protective fat underneath that slows aging, why people think Asians age so much better.
yea gypsy romanis are orignly from north india but they got kicked out.. im punjabi indian and me and some of my cousins sometimes look more european than most gypsys idk why i thought they should be mixed more
Oh wow! Yeah I can totally see the Southern Asian in you. I did my DNA test through ancestry.com. I was pretty surprised too. I thought I was just Irish/German (Jewish) descent.. They found a small percent of South Asian in me as well. Aside from that, I was mostly Northern Europe with some Northern African roots as well.. Another shocker.
could be marrano for Irish or any other side. That might also explain the North African. www.ancestry.com/boards/thread.aspx?mv=flat&m=175&p=topics.religious.jewish.sephardic
Since my Dad was(because he passed away last year) Swiss/German and my Mom is Filipina. I really wanna know more about my DNA. I don't know if they offer these tests here.
This has a lovely reading voice 😻 it's really interesting all the different parts of your heritage Russ. My partner got mine done secretly too. I have Scandinavian in mine blood which was unexpected but makes sense because I'm six foot three!
I just came from TheGabbieShow's nose job reaction video, and when I compared Gabbie and you, Russ, I definitely saw the Lebonese in your facial structure and skin tone. I can also see the Italian, too. I'm 34% Irish and 29% Scandinavian (Courtesy of an Ancestry.com DNA test), so I'm pretty boring and 99% white lol
Fun! My doctor had me take a DNA test for some medical reasons, I was surprised to find out I have 16% Ashkenazi.....which I had no idea.....(38% Italian too)
id love to test some of Chris's DNA. oral exam ofc XD one of these days ill do one of those dna tests but im already aware of most of my linage. thanks my roots in the appalachian mountains i have whats known as "melungeon" in my blood, which is a mix of scottish, african, and native american. my dads side was scottish, and one of his ancestors fought for the union in the civil war. my mothers side was scottish melungeon and cherokee. i know theres cherokee because my grandmother had a picture of her parents in her home and i used to look at it every time i visited her. it was black and white very faded. they were standing next to each other and he was missing a leg. never had an explanation for that but i guess i never will.
This is Tim from the Carolinas.... Please pray for v.squards guy... Broke my heart... Please reach out and show some sothern Carolina love and support..
Try this! Get a pair of the leather britches that the Turkish wear when wrestling, get all oiled up as they do, and then we will see! LOL! Great video, guys! Love you both!
Russ, you look like a mutt like me. I was always told I was Irish & Norwegian with a little bit of British. Turns out I do have some of that, but I'm also Asian Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Sri Lankan, Peruvian native, Columbian Native, Taino (Puerto Rico native), Tuscan Italian, Portuguese and French. So looking at the Irish part, ok, been invaded by a lot of peoples, so that accounts for some of the Europeans, but those Europeans also took over the world, had kids with native people, and then those native peoples stayed in my ancestry. The strangest part is I have a great grandparent who was Han Chinese. This is not in the family story AT ALL. I mean, I can dismiss the far backs as maybe my recent family was unaware, but a great grandparent? I will be taking another test to see if I can narrow the field a bit. Maybe blow up a few (more) Thanksgivings :)
The Native American blood thing is a common fable passed down in families, when the govt started handing out checks for native ancestry a lot of other people got in line too.
Wyo Russ, you're asy to listen to, easy on the eyes, you could be very successful doing storytime (for adults) online. Maybe read a short chapter while reclining in a chair wearing underwear (just underwear and a smile). Maybe Chris could turn the pages for you or do sound effects and voices (and of course give you a kiss now and then). I'm about the same age as Chris (maybe a few months difference) and you would definitely attract my demographic. I know I'm posting on an old video, but I just recently found you guys and am slowly catching up.
I've met a couple you remind me of. A couple of them were these two brothers who went to my high school, and they were part Portuguese and the rest of their ancestry was a white American mix. You also look a little bit like this guy from California I worked with when I lived in Seattle. He was of half Mexican and half Italian/Sicilian descent, but was adopted by a Portuguese American family.
@@stevenelmas8629 White as in skintone? Most middle easterners and Asians (who don't spend time tanning) are whiter than him in terms of skin tone. However, I doubt that you have met a Turk that has a more European facial features than him, let alone the blue eyes & dirtyblonde hair.
I almost choked on my juice when He said most Americans think they have some Native Indian Princess (Pocahontas) lol 😁😂😄😁, so true if I had a $1 from every American (Black & White) who claim Native American heritage I'd be a millionaire #js 😁😄😂
While I was watching the video I was thinking how much you, as all we, are new and old, heirs of a long term family. No matter where we come from, we are the fruit of travels and emigrations that took place thousands of years ago, or just the blink of an eye if we consider how little time we are on earth with respect to other living species. Perhaps we should remind it more often to be more compassionate towards others and more responsible to the environment. And then, it made me think we were neanderthal but before that we were fishes and first unicellular bodies and water and minerals and stars (like Joni Mitchell sings) ... and we are in the middle of a long and unpredictable journey. Thanks for making me reflect for a moment about what unites us like human beings.
Well that escalated quickly. I meant his blue eyes are likely from northern Europe, and because he asked which ethnicity he resembles most in our opinion, i said italian if i had to choose one.
There are plenty of Southern Europeans with blue/green eyes. I'm Greek and have green eyes, my brother has greyish blue, my mom hazel, and both my grandmothers blue. We are all Greek, btw. May I call you an ignorant? Oh, yes, I may.
Το ζαρκάδι της Κω It is extremely ignorant to say most southern Europeans have light eyes. It is fact most southern Europeans are tan, have brown hair and brown eyes. Period. If you go to Sicily, Napels or Capri you will mostly see TANNED people. Same for Spain, Portugal, Greece and Turkey. I am Turkish and half of my family looks western European, my grandma is a fucking ginger, however majority of Turks still are tan, have brown hair and brown eyes. Just because you and your family, or half of my family have light eyes does not mean majority of southern Europeans have light eyes.
Flexxshitt A it's sad that you took the time to say that Southern Europeans are tan when in reality most of them have a lot of light features since they are EUROPEANS at the end of the day 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♀️
Sabrina René, You can even take your results and put them into a different website to give you more info! It's pretty interesting, you should look into it!
Ever give blood or had blood drawn at the doctors?.... they got your DNA. They can get your DNA when your dead too. That's how they determine the Y-DNA and Mt-DNA of ancient historical people. $100+ is about the average you are going to pay for some of the autosomal DNA test. 23andMe charges $99 for their Ancestry test. I've taken the 23andMe, Ancestry, FamilyTreeDNA for the Family Finder test, DNA.land and now the LivingDNA test. Still want to take the Geographic DNA Test. To save $$$, you can upload your Ancestry DNA to FamilyTreeDNA for less than purchasing the FTDNA test. DNA.Land is free transfer and results. GEDMATCH.com is free and they have lots of Admixture Heritage tests you can run your DNA on to see their results. LivingDNA is expensive at $159 but with their current sale price of $99 until November 16, it's withing the normal range of 23andMe. Just check out the various sites and look for their sales.
That's so cool I have to ask you I don't know if you're ever going to see this but how much did this test cost? I very much want to try it even though I know where my mom parents are from and their grandparents I'm off Scottish on my mom's side on my dad side German and Swedish but I thought they could be more specific like if you were from Sweden or Norway or Denmark I traced my dads dad back to Germany to the mid-1600s that was kind of interesting. I really want to get this test done but I'm very curious on how much it cost. Chris or Russell can you tell me? Thanks have a good week 10- 18-17 it's almost my birthday 7 days to go.
I was also told I had Native American ancestry . But DNA test said I didn't. I'm mostly European but also Southern Asian (My dad's family are Romani Gypsies)
I would have thought you had some Native American in you too. You get your height from the Northern European bits. Wherever you come from the mixture sure turned out incredibly well. 😄
Hey, guys...Indian Princess is often a coverup for Black African.I definitely have a Pamunkey ancestor. That's the tribe of the leader of the Powhatan confederation which the Jamestown settlers met.(I also have at least 3 Jamestown ancestors, including Capt. Christopher Newport, who commanded the Jamestown fleet) There is a possibility that I have a genuine Indian Princess in my ancestry, namely Pocahontas half-sister and her husband, Powhatan's half brother.Opechancanough led the uprising of 1622 and the uprising of 1644(when he was age 99). I would say based on looks Italian or Greek in your ancestry.
Because of the 18% Asian I would think it's highly possible you have Gypsie/Rom/Dom/Romani blood as they migrated out of India along coast into southeast Europe thus mingling with Greeks, Bulgarians, Romanians etc before migrating further west.
I'm watching this video AGAIN. If I recall correctly, the Saami people migrated to Europe from Asia in large numbers in the wake of the Great Plague -- perhaps after acquiring herd immunity.
I am adopted and really know nothing about my heritage.... I was given up right away at birth and never met my real parents. I have seen my biological grandmother on my mothers side a few times. All I remember her saying ins my great grandmother, or great great grandmother (i can't remember which one it was) was full blood Cherokee Indian and survived the Trail of Tears.... I'd give anything to be able to get a DNA test like this to really find out where my ancestors came from!!! No way I can afford it with car and school payments!!! I really enjoyed watching this video though! Love ya long time!
Wurp Durp west Asian was the on most Europeans have, the east Asian is likely the native American ancestor. My mom is like 1/3 native and my test said i was 17% "east Asian"
In my opinion, due to your classic nose and skin color, you look jewish, middle eastern and slavic european. The blue eyes are possibly a result of the northern european/slavic DNA. The mix makes you strikingly handsome. You could have had a career as a clothes mode.
Moral of the story is: world's population originates from one source. If only everybody were aware of it. We are all brothers. We should love each other. Peace to the world.
You know Asian probably came from most likely from Anatolia . All this mix with a Southern American accent. I have met a Greek from Georgia once, and she was talking to me in Greek, but with a Southern accent . There is also many Greeks in my town in Tarpon Springs Fla with Southern accents, since many of there families came here like in the late 1800's and early 1900's .Interesting Video, am thinking of doing a DNA test one day.
Russ I always thought with your nose and skin color, you probably had Persian or American Indian blood. Chris looks to be Irish or Scottish, in other words, people who live in that region. Because of Chris' height and size, I don't see German because most Germans are big son of a guns. But I might be wrong on all counts. lol Love you guys!
Hi , just had my result and it showed 19.8% South Asia and coincidentally I have one anonymous grandparent , so do you really believe your big chunk of Asian DNA is from the distant past ? Thank for the video lads .
