G'day everyone. Goodonyas for the kind words/reinforcing I'm an idiot. And please know, I'm taking it easy! My running now (after three weeks of complete rest) is fast walking at best and really just to get me to cough stuff up. I'm seeing doctors and specialists every other day. It's all about going as slow as possible in the lead up to the upcoming film tour because dang, I like touring and it's a nice carrot on the horizon. This was filmed last week. I'm kickin butt folks. Rest, I assure you. See you in a theatre somewhere next month (www.beaumiles.com)!
Glad to hear it! Your health has to be priority number one, not just for yourself but for the sake of your whole family. It's much more important than all the other stuff, even nice carrots sitting on the horizon. Take care of yourself and wishing you a speedy recovery.
Your immune system is severely compromised (likely from taking the arm puncture...). Stop taking pills 💊 or anything a doctor prescribes! Simply eat plenty of meats, especially steaks🥩 and a variety of foods & drink. Plus proper rest and recuperation after each physical activity. And above all get plenty of nightly uninterrupted sleep 😴. 2-3weeks should be the maximum for a healthy human to get rid of any flu.

Dude. Just rest. I’ve had pneumonia and it nearly killed me. Put your feet up, take your meds and just relax. It takes a long time to lose your stamina and it’ll be ten times better when your lungs are cleared.
Honestly this all is addition behaviour. If you can't even stop when you are sick, and you still continue destructive behaviour. We praise running as healthy and sure he is in great shape. But I will probably outlive him. The body can't be abused and abused and abused forever.
Just rest, ironically these are the hardest 2 words you can give a person. Why? because in the society we live in. Just rest? No, i have dreams, ambitions, work, i have hope, i have plans. Ignoring health, just powering through pain is actually easier. But "just rest" is very important.
@@mitchellhills9804 This is not correct. Walking pneumonia is a non-medical term for a mild form of pneumonia. Both can be caused by many different microorganisms.
As a general rule it is correct though according to the microbiology unit at my university in Australia,, Mycoplasma pneumonia is the normal causative agent of walking pneumonia and we do use it as a medical term here? Yes there are other organisms that overlap I agree, and I am just a med student remember so apologies if I have some incorrect information 😁
"Getting on with it" is man's biggest problem. Don't leave it until it's too late. There is nothing heroic or blokey about avoiding medication or doctors.
Yeah that's a bit infuriating. Dude complains full time that he's been sick for "X amount of time" on video and self diagnoses himself with the longest cold of all time apparently ? Let doctors be doctors.
It's not that simple. If you're active and used to the various injuries and discomfort that comes from vigorous exercise or a manual job, it can be hard to differentiate "this is just a cold, I'll get over it" and "I am actually ill". Especially if you're normally quite healthy. I often don't realise quite how ill I've been until I look back. At the time I don't usually feel as bad as I imagine being ill should be. It's not always a case of trying to be tough and not wanting help.
@@ncot_tech Disagree. I am a former athlete myself. The better an athlete you become, the better you feel, at least as far as your "insides" go. You feel like you can achieve anything, and you don't cough for weeks on ends. You actaully recover from colds and most illnesses faster than the average Joe. Your cardiovasculary and respiratory systems are top tier, not struggling. It's a different story for external pain (muscles, bruises and such). Yes, you learn to live with those as an active person. But anything coming from within is the opposite of what you would expect as an athlete and you don't just ignore those.
I'm an ICU nurse and someone who loves your videos. I've seen too many people our age who thought they could get on with it. Look after yourself properly mate.
Yup, I knocked the long gruelling runs on the head for a bit, too much stress and my menopausal body. Weights, core, couple of runs a week and don’t eat too much crap. I’ve put on a wee bit of weight, but I’m stronger and more resilient.
This is a film about denial. And you made it for yourself, not for us, so that you could look in the mirror. You are an awesome person, but also an extraordinary one: a person that gets too much comfort by getting out of your comfort zone. Embrace staying put and resting as your new challenge, perhaps the one most difficult of all. We want you to live. You want you to live. Sending love.
I had it for nearly two months learned about onion tea and it had me coughing all the crap out in a week or two drink two ot three cups a day a spend some time out side cause your gonna need to spit a lot
Beau, please take care of yourself. You are a great filmmaker, athlete and entertainer and I get why it is hard for you to stop. But you are also „only“ human and you need to take a break. Most importantly: you have a lovely family that needs you now and for a few more decades. More chill, less thrill for the moment. I hope you get better soon!
Beau, please look after yourself. As a warning... I am very similar to you in terms of work ethic, running ultra marathons, doing big kayaking trips, etc - I got the flu 9 months ago and now have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I am now housebound, I look out at the sea 200m from my window but can't even walk there. You're a prime candidate for CFS. Stay healthy mate - we enjoy your videos too much.
Oh yeah, definitely. People think CFS are just lazy but most of them, including myself were extremely active before we contracted it. It's life changing and powering through it just makes it worse.
This is my problem. It’s not enough to make house bound but I have gone from a chest infection to shingles to pericarditis and now barely productive in life due to the chronic fatigue. Just two years ago I could casually do 10-20km run
CFS is caused by internal stress While your body may be rested, your mind is not I’d imagine you have some sort of internal drive forcing you to be so active to cope with some event that hasn’t been addressed
Yup. I kick myself daily for not resting when I first got sick, and now I'm 2 years into the rest of my life being disabled, not able to work or read or walk, let alone run. Beau please take care of yourself.
Hi Beau, I'm a big fan and also a medical doctor. Pneumonia is no joke. You seem like a smart guy who obviously takes care of your health. I know it's part of your being to run and keep active but you could be doing some serious damage here. See a respiratory specialist if you haven't already.
Please do not take your health for granted. We all think that we are invincible but life will remind us that sometimes adjustments are needed.please please take care.
This is so real, he’s being prideful. I notice this in a lot of runners and cyclists, like their running away from something spiritual as well. It’s sad, sad. Like even happened to a drag queen I watch Trixie Mattel. She started running and over did it, and know is in actual shambles.
Beau, you are bloody crazy. I think this is an important lesson for you, and everyone, to get checked out regularly. For both yourself and your family (and us). Would hate to see something bad happen to you because you felt good being 70%. Need you to stick around and keep making films for at least another 20 years. Keep up the good work you legend and stay well!
@@jkkj1406 But did you have to deal with it for almost 2 years or could you have gotten better earlier? If you can afford to, there's no reason to not go to the doctor. You will know exactly what's wrong with you and how to properly deal with it. You're not getting any praise from me for dealing with something you might have been able to avoid altogether
@@MegaMEGATRUCK I know modern medicine can do some amazing things like with surgery but I'd have to be bleeding out or something, for the most part id rather die than have some doctor tell me I'm dieing, I once had a hole in my leg from a motorbike accident it didn't stop bleeding for 3 days but eventually it healed..
Get well soon! As I just started training to become a lung specialist, I highly recommend anyone who has coughing over 3 months to go to a specialist, as it is one of the first signs of lung cancer (the most deadly cancer in man and second deadliest cancer in woman). Beau if you don't get better, go to a pneumological clinic to get a bronchoscopy to find out what bug you are having, or maybe you have a SOP (a secondary organizing pneumopnia) that only gets better with cortisol treatment and is sometimes overlooked. If you continue to train at a high level (while having pneumonia) you risk getting myocarditis (inflammation of the heart) and that is the leading cause of heart failure in young man.
Echo Tech here! You do NOT want myocarditis. Yes many people can recover from it just fine however it’s still very dangerous like the above poster just mentioned. Take care of yourself Beau, even keep the tinkering around the house to a minimum. Re: that solar panel comment. Like don’t go cutting down a bunch of trees to get more sunlight to them right this second, IT CAN WAIT.
I'd also like to say some of my favourite films of yours are those when you just potter around and don't go on any grand trips, please don't let this discourage you from making films and telling stories! Would love to see some stories about doing projects on the farm in the future!
I learned this lesson the hard way. You either man up and take the time off to recover so you can function at 100, or you push through it because you’re scared you’ll lose progress even though you aren’t making any because of how sick / injured you are.
With all the respect in the world Beau, your mums right! The more you rest while the tablets do their work the sooner you'll be back to normal so be patient with your body!
My mother's friend's husband had pneumonia and pushed on nonetheless, chopping firewood with the family even while having a fever. He died a few days later in his mid forties. Take care of yourself, Beau. What you do for your well-being is never "wasted time".❤
Having had full blown pneumonia twice in my life, I understand how much you’re going through. First time, I ignored it and ignored it until I was in the verge of passing out, just walking across my apartment. Second time I recognised what was happening and had a MUCH easier time of it. Speedy recovery mate.
My wife’s brother was in his 40’s. He died a couple of years ago…of the bloody flu. Right on the parking lot outside the hospital. Since then, I’ve had a new respect for “harmless” diseases. Stay safe and listen to your body 🙏
Please be careful! I nearly died from pneumonia, don’t take illness so lightly please 🙏 any symptom that doesn’t go away needs to be checked out ok 👍🏾 hope you feel better soon.
Yeah, a lot of elderly people are sickly but not deathly so, until they get pneumonia.... Your immune system seems to be kicking it but don't take it for granted PLEASE! Your wife is a trooper, she understands you won't be tied down. You and the King, you just don't want to stop for a rest.
I also suffer from extreme stoicism, there’s always way too much to do to stop , consequently I have walked on unstable ankle fractures and given my GP a heart attack because by the time I went to see them my thyroid levels were incompatible with life, and yes had pneumonia for a year. Not sure it’s something I should be proud of, am trying to learn to listen to my body, I yoga differently instead of pushing I take each day as it comes, I am grateful for the lessons in self care that these things have taught me- please take the lessons on board from this beau, you are too important to lose xx
Real Stoics wouldn't do this. They would actually scoff at it. Seneca had severe asthma and was very sure to do all the treatments and lifestyle changes required of him. Denial and bodily recklessness for the sake of pride is diametrically opposed to the Stoic philosophy.
I got pneumonia 3 times over six months after a viral chest infection. I was pretty fit, exercising about nine hours a week. I didn't rest because I had just started a new job. It made me really ill. Now, seven years later I can't work properly and have pain all of the time, psoriasis that started at the same time, numbness, my nervous system has been affected and I am exhausted all of the time. So, my advice is REST completely for at least two weeks, and never leave a cough for more than 3 weeks before seeing a doctor.
👍 true. Checken Sie Ihren Vitamin B12 Level wegen der Müdigkeit. Wegen chronischen Schmerzen: verzichten Sie acht Wochen auf Weizen. (Falls Sie es nicht bereits getan haben.)
I’ve had ongoing health issues since the start of this year. Respiratory diseases seem to be on the up since COVID. The doctors have not been able to tell me anything. They just send me for test after test. I’ve had a chest pain and been coughing up gunk for months. Thankfully it’s summer here now and the chest feels a lot better, but I feel it has left some residual damage. I still feel some pain in the chest. Good luck and I hope you are on your feet and running again soon. Running is such a great way of dealing with stress and uplifting your mood. The down side is when your body breaks and it’s hard not being able to go out and get that fix anymore.
Mate…I was in my mid 40’s too when I got my first dose of reality. The realisation that I am no longer a teenager and can’t push and do all the things I used to be able to. I got sick and it took many years for me to recover. Rest and balance is key. (Getting up and exercising is easier for me than rest)….It’s a bitter pill to swallow but it can’t be avoided as we age. I’m 52 now and have just had to swallow that pill for the 2nd time and I don’t like the taste of it, but I have no choice, it’s the only way.
Glad to continue to see your upbeat attitude. Sharing weakness/vulnerability is such a tough thing and you’re tackling it with an inspiring mindset. Wishing you and your family good health!
I'm glad to hear you're mostly resting but please please be so careful. I was healthy and well until I randomly got a chronic illness and now my ability is so much less than it was. It's not the same situation but I can tell you just in terms of illness in general that bodies don't really accept "mostly" rest when they're ill like this. It's quite possible your body needs all rest, as much as you can possibly give it. I agree with the other commenters that this could easily turn chronic (like, lifelong chronic) or develop into chronic fatigue etc, and it's just not worth it. I know it's near impossible for you to sit still but since you love a challenge perhaps you can frame it in that light. Challenge the mind to rest. I am not as active as you and I have struggled with resting enough immensely, I get it. Having learned to rest, truly rest, has been totally transformative for my entire life, in ways I didn't expect. In terms of my attitude to the world, my values, my compassion towards others... this is a rambly comment but I promise you, pushing literally at all is a recipe for disaster. Sending BIG healing vibes your way!
Ah, Beau, what a bummer. I wish you a speedy, but not running recovery. Please mate, take care of getting well. Much love to you and your family from Denmark 😊
I'm 46 and a runner. Most of the time we all run hurt to some degree, but knowing when to back off is the greatest skill a runner can have. Rest Beau! Plenty of life to go: don't race it!
Beau this is a big challenge, treat it like your other challenges and give it your 100%. We're on board and cheering you on, ready to share your journey with us if you want to share it, same as all your other adventures. It's sometimes easy for outdoors folk to focus and put loads of effort into mileage or adventure challenges, but then treat other challenges as less important and not see them as real challenges. This may be a longer adventure than many others, it requires learning and changing habits to things you've not concentrated on before, it's getting you out of your comfort zone in some ways and may cause you to examine your perspective and priorities exactly like all of the other challenges you've done. If you feel comfortable sharing this challenge and journey I think most of us would love to gain your insight and thoughts, as well as inspiration, in the same way we love everything else you've done. You've got a great way of putting things into words, amazing stamina and resilience, and generally give so many of us a boost to give things a go, dig deep and put in 100% to stuff. This can be a personal journey though so fair enough if you keep it to yourself and your family and focus on all the other amazing stuff you share with us, or even take some time off. Just know we're cheering you on, same as every other time!
Damn, you made it so chronical. Listen to your body. Mine collapses with migraine or a numbing stuffy nose if I overdemand too much, am stressing too much, especially when sick. So it forces me to rest when I don't want to. Painful, but seems not too bad when I hear about you. Please take care. Accepting oneself doing boring nothing is also a master life lesson💆🏻
Your health is ALL you have, without that there's nothing else. As someone who's always pushed myself hard physically, it's been super hard to slow down. Wasn't my choice, age caught up with me. When you're young it seems there's no limits for some of us. Overtraining is real and finding the balance is hard when the age line keeps moving.
God I'm glad your getting better Beau but you need to take care of your bloody body! These projects are amazing and some of the best story telling I've ever seen, but they cant be made if your hospitalising yourself or breaking your body.
Mate please listen to your body and take a rest. I understand life throws some hard curveballs at you recently, but you want to be in the best condition you can be for your wife and kids for as long as possible. You dont do that by ignoring stuff like this. You will get better, and we will still be here!
My father died from pneumonia. Last year. I begged him to seek help, but he wasn’t up for it. Thanks for bringing attention to it, Beau. It’s a real thing that gets a lot of people.
That's so sad :( my great-grandmother died of pneumomia but in the 1930's when there was no cure for it. Nowadays, many many diseases can be cured, it only depends on us (and in some countries on our wallet)
I believe my dad has the same thing and a bad urinal track infection making him see / talk to things not there massive memory loss etc and cannot breath properly spitting up litres and I mean litres of flem/ liquids over a 2 week- a month period I believe it’s phenomena and he has also been diagnosed with copd in his lungs a few years back when I could actually get him to go with me to the doctors but now I can’t he will not under any circumstance come with me to a hospital or doctors surgery
Thanks for sharing. I'm 22 and learned the hard way that our bodies aren't machines when I pushed my body past its warning signs for over a year. I did all the 'normal' things a 20 year old would want to do even though my body was telling me over and over again that I needed to rest. I was getting recurrent infections. I ignored it and pushed on anyway. The inevitable complete body crash happened soon after and I was diagnosed with long covid with 30+ symptoms and chronic fatigue. I was bed bound and mostly asleep for over four months, unable to bear anything including something as simple as someone laughing. I couldn't see my friends, go outside, cook for myself or stay awake for more than a couple of hours. I have spent the last two years recovering at often an excruciatingly slow pace with lots of set backs. This has been the hardest time of my life but I learned that nothing is more important than our health. NOTHING is more important. I guess this is a plea to take your health seriously, listen to the warning signs, SLOW DOWN at times, check in regularly with yourself and go to a doctor when something doesn't feel right. I have learned my lesson and I will never push my body past its limit again. I am grateful for my recovery and value my health more than anything now.
Those of us that have been there know your frustration. Pneumonia is serious sh*t though and what we know now as chronic pnuemonia is what killed my uncle many years ago. Take all the rest you need, we live in a country that allows the time to get well properly 💜
I'm totally compassionate on the crap. I had a pneumonia for three months and it was both an absolute nightmare AND a wonderful resolution of how strong I am. I was a lonely mom with a 1 year baby and no familial support, no friend in the area. I one time was sure I would die. And I have managed to cross all of that, feeling absolute crap and the feeling it was the end, until I have a diagnose and the good antibiotics to get ride of it. I KNOW how you have such a strong core now hahahaha, I had the same. Coughing a lot is actually a very good training for the core. I hope you will get the good therapy and cure yourself totally.
I got to say, pneumonia was a chronic problem for me since i was young. Once I hit 50, i got the pneumonia vaccine and I have been super healthy ever since. May be a coincidence but after 35 years of being sick this has been a game changer.
Oh Beau, what a hard core legend. Do take it easy though! I sure hope it clears up 100% quickly so you can back to life without this hassle and risk to your health. Take it easy man!
As a Paramedic, rest up Beau! Chronic Pneumonia isn’t just a cold. Rest my man we will all be here for you when you’re back to 100%. In the mean time you can do some videos of you just making stuff from stuff!
It really sucks having one of these life changing conditions, but I am amazed you are continuing to do the things you love. I have cholinergic urticaria, which basically means anything that raises my body temperature can bring on extreme itching and hives. It just developed without warning and I've had it for quite a few years now. It has pretty much shut down a lot of the things I used to do outside and can be really depressing. I seriously hope you feel better and can keep that positive mental attitude.
Mate, listen to the comments here (and more importantly to your intelligent wife and mother). Take a break and a good long rest. Let your body heal properly. Your wife and kids will thank you far more for being healthy than being an elite athlete. People will still watch your content.
I've been a long time fan and also recently listened to your book while being on nappy duty myself after having become a first-time dad in January. With the added responsibility, I've grinded pretty hard at work. I also decided that it was a good idea to train harder than ever for an 86km ultra. Similar to you, but less severe, I was niggly sick for the better part of 3 months. Often doing long runs for longer than I had slept the night before. Of course, it couldn't last. The wheels came off at the 60km mark of the 86km race and I've had to deal with the consequences since then. But, again similar to you, it is a "Yay is me" moment. I survived and got the medal, but also the added perspective of what is really important in the next season of my life. I hope you have a similar positive experience out of your story. And I also hope that in the processing of it all, another book is on the way, as I now need something new to which I can change nappies. Good on ya, Beau and all the best!
G'day Beau, i'm a great fan of yours. I'm also someone who has been where you are. Nowhere near the fitness level of you, but certainly wore myself real thin in 2023 and spent almost three and a bit months hacking up lungs with walking pneumonia. Still haven't fully recovered lung capacity. Real important to listen to your body and ease up. It knows what it needs.
on this note, nature loves an equilibrium. You'll be able to push yourself for a time, until compensatory mechanisms don't compensate anymore and everything snaps back.
So sorry to hear, but excited to see the rebound. My sister is through hiking the Continental Divide Trail and I just shared about 110 km with her. We were fondly talking about all sorts of your videos and life lessons - definitely world class. Good luck with recovery.
The issue is if you’re getting insufficient oxygen and sleep you’ll be putting your heart and circulatory system under such strain. If you don’t recover mate one day you’ll just pop. And that’ll be the end of Beau. Fitness INCLUDES recovery. To ignore it or “power through” is foolish.
ive been in and out sick for about 9 months now. At times, i threw up hourly, other times, had an aching body. And although my doc says I should be careful with the term long-covid, I think my case speaks for itself. Now I only do a bit of running and calisthenics, practically no heavy lifting like I did for 3 years before I got sick. So I can very much understand your case and have alot of empathy. But it gets better! My cough is almost completely gone, it only shows up here and there. So dont listen to the paper saying its chronic. With enough (you wont like this) rest, I believe you can get back to being completely healthy again. But going for long runs might not be the move lol
Beau, as much as I admire your work, you have to slow down. If you fall now, it won't be fair to everything you have planned, not to mention your family and friends. Get well soon. Edit: Let me rephrase this comment, because I think it was too lenient. I don't have any authority to order you to do things, but if I did, I would order you to take an extended rest, consult a doctor or two or three, and seriously put your wellbeing first. I don't want you to die and abandon your loved ones, in other words.
Beau, you have been such a motivation for me and others! please listen to your viewers and get motivated by them to continue living longer! to motivate more!
Get yourself properly well. I had pneumonia which turned into an infection of my pleural cavity which ended up requiring surgery. Why risk your long term health like this?!? Get it sorted properly!!
A month out from my 30th I’ve been diagnosed with incurable blood cancer. Definitely puts a dampener on things. Surrendering to the confines of your new reality. One step at a time, Beau. We got this!
My partner had an incurable blood cancer and unfortunately Car-T therapy which changed it to curable came a year too late for him. I made it a mission for the last 4 years of his life to fill them full of bright and happy memories and I wish you the same for your journey. Kia Kaha (stay strong, my thoughts are with you) and appreciate the everyday beauty around you
@@carolyncopeland2722 I’m heading onto a car-t trial soon so hopefully I get on that arm. Unfortunately, it doesn’t cure my strain but I hope it’s more time. I’m sorry for your loss! I appreciate the kind words
I don’t want to lose my favorite RU-vidr. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!!! I think it’s saying give yourself more rest, I can’t kick this thing if (albeit extreme) Training is constantly going on. Go to a doctor (again or specialist) and make sure that its not something else. I relate to You in many ways (always wants to make an excuse to keep going through the pain for the finish line), but when my body says I can’t go…anymore or just right now, I’ve learned to LISTEN. Gratitude for your resilience and Wishing You vast amounts of healing 😴😁
Seriously Beau, rest up. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees you're through the worst of it. And you won't see long-term improvement without a long-term plan for rest, recuperation, and recovery. Take your time. And realise there are some situations you can't train yourself out of. All the best, from Ireland ❤
This has come at the most perfect tie for me. I'm currently sat at base camp in mid-Wales after completing the first of a two day gravel race. My results from day one were very mid... but I couldn't breathe properly nor actively recover like I normally would. I had pneumonia a few years back and didn't realise until the doctors said weeks later... the past few years I have had it pop a few times but put it down to lung scarring. fast forwarding to now, I had a cold a couple of weeks back and it went straight to my chest and has stayed there since. I have been convincing myself I am fine up until I completed three stages yesterday. My fiancé has been very supportive but has basically told me it's a bad idea to race today, so after sleeping on it I am pulling out this morning for fear of making myself worse. Feeling pretty low about not finishing and needing a distraction while all the other racer are prepping I saw this video pop up; perfect timing, thank you Beau. I hope you feel better soon!
Dude respect the body! Listen to it, take care of it, it houses your soul. Take care of it, it will take care of you. You don't want to continually keep an uninvited guest into your body and not get rid of it, completely. Your body has changed, listen to it CLOSELY. You are pushing your body too much. You might be a great athlete, but listening to your body and not pushing through everything all the time and then pouring more on will make you a smarter athlete.
4:27 “Yea Beau, that was probably your low point of your health. When you had a bath.” 😂😂 Beau just look after yourself, as I have been told recently with injuries, just do what you can don’t push yourself too hard. I know it is hard and I know that illness is horrible to deal with but I know you’re a positive person and that you can see that there is definitely a large light called the sun at the end of this tunnel. Love everything you do, you’re an inspiration and a half to me and many others, I hope that everything to do with your health recovers quickly and for the meantime is tolerable. ❤❤❤
Leute!
Too real Beaudie! I'd been ignoring my asthma for years, thinking everyone had those deathly symptoms and that my cardio exercise ineptitude could be explained by a lack of willpower. After 2 years of on and off running (I have yet to tame the Canadian winters enough to run those 6 months), I recently had my airways close in so bad post-exercise that I forced myself to do a little research. And that's when I found out that if I left my asthma untreated and continued what I was doing, my airways could slowly close to the point of death. I got my inhalers a few weeks ago and have never felt better! Made me wonder what I was suffering all those years for. Turns out I didn't need to be wheezing and nearly blacking out, 5 minutes into every run. What a revelation!
Beau, you have to rest properly! Not resting is how I got stuck in bed for the past 4 years with chronic fatigue syndrome. Please stop pushing through and just heal. ❤
you’ve a got a wife and a kid that I think would be pretty sad if you died because didn’t take this seriously. You legit just need to rest until you’re healthy and then you can get back to grinding
I love the way you analysed your marriage too as a 7, sometimes a 9 and occasionaly a 4. I'm currently single but the next time someone special comes along I'm going to use that.
Beau, I'm a long time fan and have become a backyard adventurer because of you-- and I am a better husband, dad, and friend for it (or least I think I am). You have done so much good for tons of people, so now you have to take care of yourself. I know you aren't a praying man, but I am. So, I am praying for you! Get well!
Thank you so much for making this video. You put what I have been feeling for at least six months to words for me. I am a teacher and as a teacher I know, we get sick. It's just part of the job description. A few coworkers have told me to take it easy and have told me that if I am not careful I could get pneumonia. Taking it easy is hard as a teacher and also when you have a family of your own to take care of first. Of course, as you said in your video, I feel a solid 7/10 most days. That is a win in my book too. It wasn't until yesterday my husband sent me this video out of concern, that your words and symptoms truly hit home for me. I went to see a doctor finally, and yep. I have pneumonia. not quite 'running,' pneumonia like a lad like yourself has acquired, but similar I suppose. Again, thank you for putting yourself out there. It has given me the little extra push to just go to the doctor and get seen.
Yeah, nah.. Please DONT go for a run. Dont you thank you not resting and keep running is helping this pneumonia to be "chronic"? Also you are taking the risk of the sickness getting worse, like attacking your heart, which could kill you. Please Beau, just take time off.
Sorry to hear you’ve been crook mate. You know what takes real will power? Fighting your brain that wants to push the limits. Accepting that you need to slow down to recover. If you don’t listen to those that love you and look after yourself life will keep smacking you down until you do. My experience after years of illness and finally a liver transplant 4 months ago. I am on the slow road to building my body back after years of illness and pushing myself. I hope you are right and are past the worst of it. Take care Rob👍🏼
It's always crazy and fascinating to me how varied our bars for cold are from country to country, even region to region, state to state. Bundle up and take care of yourselves.
i did not expect that kind of clickbaity thing. On the other hand: it very well could have been, when your are coughing for a year and dont get an exam - he would not have known that for a whole year!
I've had pneumonia for three months now. The best thing that helped was getting a massage. Fully cleared the sinuses, drained the lymphatics, tendered the muscles, and reset the soul.
I've lived with Chronic Illness for the past 5 years (Hit my 25th Surgery in April.....) without too much detail all I can say is Running has actually saved me and in the past 18 months since taking it up my mental health has improved massively. There's definitely been days when I shouldn't run (Day after leg surgery) but now when I don't get a daily run in, my mood drops and I am just not a nice/fun person. Sometimes I wish I was just as optimistic as you however after 5 years it takes its toll. My optimism is now to just live each day how I want and go from there, I could literally end up in hospital any day so a day out and running/spending time with the family is better than a day on an operating table :)
If we follow your logic, you should have known for approximately 70% of the time that you were quite sick. That means you then chose to ignore your body's signals for around 70% of the time. There are many forms of communication and our own bodies have a way of telling us when something is wrong. In the future, it may be helpful to listen to your body more. Stop. Think about what it's trying to tell you. People with mental illness also try to ignore what their bodies are telling them. We all should be taking a moment, breathing, being quiet and calm to examine what is really going on inside ourselves. Animals do this innately. If they need to heal, they find a quiet spot and take the time to do so. Surely we are smarter than animals?
Glad you are taking it easy. As someone who has battled fairly intense respiratory illness a few times, I know how impactful it can be on your day-to-day life and how long it can take to clear out the crud. Wishing you all the best, Sir!! Good luck on the tour!
