Here it is 2023, and I still come back to this video over and over again throughout the years. One of the best vids on RU-vid. I hope Ross is doing well 😀
This video definitely is the reason why this song is now a far far larger part of my life playlist. One pass, and Ross fully and absolutely nailed it!! What a magically golden moment facilitated by Sting. The unity shows brightly on all the joyful faces. Reminds me why I totally enjoy playing guitar. And only 420K views thus far, this is truly a hidden gem. Many many thanks Ross!!
@@careykgreen That's what Sting does so well. If he wants it to sound sad, then he'll reduce you to a liquid. But he might just as easily get you bopping to his woes.
Every once in awhile when I’m feeling stressed or down I watch this. Ross wrote back to me about his experience here... and that made it even better. maybe a fellow Canadian thing.
We went to the Sting concert in phoenix last night and just seen this video today.. we’ve watched it 10 time and ya when Sting gives Ross the stare down on that long note is money❤️❤️ way to go Ross from a fellow Canuck…..💪🏼🏒🍺
Wow, this guy is incredible, not only he can sing but he's quite a character and a stand-up comedian, doesn't seem a bit intimidated by Sting or being in front of a huge crowd on a stage.....way to go Ross!!!

Great video! My wife Maria went to school with Ross and we love watching this song. Such joy from a guy so lucky to be on stage with an idol. You handled yourself so well Ross. A memory forever.
It's been a couple of years now...but I never tire of seeing Ross rise to the occasion! Especially when he harmonizes with Sting during the key transition when they both slide gently from A to G during the word, "Connected..." Brilliant! Again, Well done Ross!
This is fricking awesome and Sting was a "complete gentleman" throughout (Rossdude, Iam so damn jealous that you got to sing with my favorite male artist of all time!) from Mikey (Special thanks to policegal for getting this up on Tube)
I love this video... there is so much positive interact action between Sting & Ross, Love when Sting realizes Ross can sing and starts to freestyle. Love when the audience claps more for Ross than Sting.... what a fun time. Ross is my hero
First time I've seen this clip. Sting just moved a notch up in my book. I met him at the Memphis airport back in '97. Just walking through the airport bigger than life, no sunglasses, no hat ...just Sting being Sting.
I have to watch this about once a month. I believe Ross impressed the hell of of Sting...don't think he was expecting a guy who could sing about as well as he could. Great job, Mr. Viner!
This song got me through a tough time in my life I heard it a few months after my ex wife left me for someone else and we had 2 kids together the kids was still babies at that time I listened to this song probably about 50 times over and over it really hits home when you care about your kids and I wasn't going to be a Sunday father' I was going to be a father everyday to my kids and I did went to court for 2 years before I got full custody of them money well spent at that time I still listened to this song about everyday on u tube and it takes me back to that time in my life.
congrats Ross !! You did it great! Funny and good! are you going to attend sting's concert in his new tour . I would have liked to be in your place singing with Sting . How did you feel at being so near Sting ? I would like to know what you feel and how you felt. Did he finally sign your banner?
Carmen Silvana thanks Carme! yes, I was (still am) pretty happy. as for the tour, not this time. maybe later on. thanks for posting and SPREAD THE JOY!!
@@rossydv Ross, I had a chance to meet Sting in NYC about 10 years ago when he was signing things to promote his album of winter songs. I was next in line and I think in retrospect he was reaching out to take whatever was in my hand to sign but I thought he was reaching out to shake hands, which we did. We wished each other a merry Christmas. And now I always refer to Sting as one of my closest, personal best friends. :)
Ross, you seem to young and happy to actually catch the sensibility of these lyrics. But God it's nice to see such youthful exuberence in step with a song that makes me cry! AWESOME!
@@NoName-np8ko First of all it's not crappy. It was a very successful popular sitcom. I get some people have opinions, but no need to comment your opinion on a random comment that is just stating the fact how it was a show reference.
@rossv69 That look from Sting at about 6:50 is one for a lifetime. You had just gone from being an audience participation act to a co-performer with him, and he was going with it and having as much fun as you were. Awesome job -- I can't stop smiling whenever I watch this!
Ross, it is quite evident that Sting was, well, non-plussed. I think he was impressed with your singing. And at the end, when you really cut loose on the final bit, and hit some higher notes... man, it was great. And when you look at Sting and see him enjoying himself and lettin' you take the show... what a hell of a nice guy he is. You're a star too, in your own way.
this is a very moving tune that sting put togather. it's sad and happy at the same time.we all go trough this in one way or another in life.like he's turning a negative into a posative.thanks for posting this tune.
Hey Ross, I only discovered this video last year. I watch this every couple of months. Your my hero, you looked like you had so much fun... Sting's face is priceless when he realizes you can sing. Follow your dreams... Brian
After 13 years on Tube, I'm still jealous of Ross Viner cause I've got 23 years of singing under my belt since 1996...Wish I'd be able to sing with Sting before he officially retires!
I remember calling Ross up and inviting him to go to the concert with me. Ross said he was at the Seattle concert a couple days before but being a huge Sting fan, he would love to go again! What a surprise when Ross was called up by Sting. The energy was amazing and the memory is ever lasting!! Hey Ross, you did all the work, but I'm going to take just a little credit for getting us there! -Kevin D
I return to this video from time to time to rewatch it and it ALWAYS brings a smile to my face! (Especially at 6:04 when Sting recognizes you really CAN sing and hold your own.) Such a wonderful experience to be called on that stage to sing with the master.) You nailed it Ross V.!!
Ross, Congratulations! a) To getting (or creating for yourself) the opportunity to perform with Sting, and b) to singing so well - and c) apparently enjoying yourself so much! I'm happy for you! T
incredible video... so much positive body language from Sting to him... a lot of fun. To get positive nods and affirmations from Sting would make me higher than a kite
I've been divorced now for 2 1/2 years... the sadness of this song hits home for me... but Ross Viner and Sting are so fun to watch it balances out the pain. :-)
I was just listening to another live version of this song (perhaps from a Houston show?) while driving and thought to myself Ross did a WAY better job than this dude with Sting. So as soon as I reached my destination I stopped & pulled up this video on my phone. It never disappoints. Way to go Sting & Ross! Love y'alls rapport on stage!
I love this song and this video! I come back often to replay it (like getting a fix :-). As others have said, this song is sad but uplifting at the same time. I enjoy both Sting's original version and also the one Toby Keith did. Ross: You are one lucky & talented guy. But you probably already knew that ;-) Watching the crowd get into with you and Sting is one of my favorite parts of the video. But, hands down I love when you turn to Sting and say "c'mon Sting"......just great!
Awesome Ross. I found this video two weeks ago after losing my job and battling other challenges. I have honestly viewed it several times over the last two weeks and find solace very time. The words are comforting and fitting your character adds volumes. Thanks for bringing a humbling smile to my face with viewing. DL
I just love this ! Ross you did a awsome job. Glad u had the chance to sing with him. this video is priceless. Sting love the tune.Getting a divorce after 20 years . Im so happy , tears of joy :)
