Great video! Happy New Year 2021! This song is dedicated to everyone who lost a loved one. "I'm calling out your name tonight" by Richie Levoi ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JSbGGiSe3S8.html
Elton isn't the typical screaming solo pianist, His real genius was in the way he put notes together to create chord combinations (many arpeggiated). He developed a sound that was uniquely his and you could always recognize an Elton John song even when he wasn't singing. Well sung by Sting, too.

Anyone watching this in Nov. 2020? Beautiful song about someone being left by their love. It doesn't get much better than this. "There are women n women...and some hold you tight. While some leave you counting the stars in the night"
As with all of my met heroes (of whom I have all of their catalogs) it is often the DEEP CUTS that turn out to be my favorites. I see them as more personal, private discoveries that few know about. Poems, that you can keep close to your heart. "In every heart, there is a room, a sanctuary safe and strong"

One of my all time favorite albums with a special memory of my first love. You never forget that one and this beautiful piece of music will seal that memory forever.

I remember Sting singing this on a documentary, and it's nice to think Elton considers him a dear friend. But this interpretation kinda...doesn't seem to get the emotional content when Sting sings it. But it's a delight to see Elton revisit this one. We cover it, too. LOVE this song. Have felt what it's all about...there was this girl named Kaya Ba-Doom once...
Two favorite AND song so beautiful it's almost herasy to talk about it. This is stunningly well done. Of course ! Look👁️👁️🗨️at who is performing itt.!* Tytytytytytytytyyyyyttttyyoutwo.
"Come Down In Time" In the quiet silent seconds I turned off the light switch And I came down to meet you in the half light the moon left While a cluster of night jars sang some songs out of tune A mantle of bright light shone down from a room Come down in time I still hear her say So clear in my ear like it was today Come down in time was the message she gave Come down in time and I'll meet you half way Well I don't know if I should have heard her as yet But a true love like hers is a hard love to get And I've walked most all the way and I ain't heard her call And I'm getting to thinking if she's coming at all Come down in time I still hear her say So clear in my ear like it was today Come down in time was the message she gave Come down in time and I'll meet you half way There are women and women and some hold you tight While some leave you counting the stars in the night
@@gracekenningsYou are so wrong. An anvil is used in making horse shoes. A lantern mantle is a device used to generate bright white light when heated by a flame. Sorry to burst your confident bubble but it's MANTLE. Anvil makes absolutely NO sense.
Well done lads..! Bravo..💙If you ever play this for someone you think you're in a relationship with, and they don't like it or respond, red flag..! End the "relationship" as soon as the song is over...
This is enjoyable and a treat...however since tyher eis so few versions of Elton singing this on professional video..i wish Elton had done this solo...

The Two Rooms release while uneven contains some amazing performances. Come Down In Time & Sinéad O'Connor's interpretation of "Sacrifice" are a couple of highlites.
Sting should have just performed over the phone if this is what he was going to bring to this performance. It's a shame since this has to be one of Elton's very best songs.
Very nice version, made better by the live groove added to it. Give a listen to this song sung by Lani Hall. It’s on her first solo album after she married Herb Albert. Exquisite really
I think Sting is a phenomenal vocalist but Elton set the bar so high on this particular song that Sting just seems like a bad fit for this song. Nothing against Sting in anyway -- I doubt Elton would sound good singing the King of Pain either.
We use to drop that album on the turntable, spot the arm and drop the needle right on this song. Greatness by Elton and Bernie. Sorry Sting, but you can’t sing this song.
Tumbleweed Connection is my favorite Elton album and Come Down In Time one of my favorite songs on it, and I love Sting's voice and a lot of his material - BUT this particular effort is a travesty and the last part where they sang in unison sounded like somebody threw a grenade into the middle of the whole thing
I had owned Tumbleweed Connection for 20 years but didn't think this was such a great song until Sting covered it. Even when I go back to Elton's version, I still think Sting owns the song LOL.
Sounds like they've also roped in Kenny G to do this one. Not a good version of the song at all. A good song, great in fact, but nothing good added to it here.
Sorry, IMO Sting sucks on this song. He sounds very corny in his intonation. This song loses something special with Sting at the mic. Love that they added that haunting oboe in, tho.
