@@MDUVerse Judging from what Homelander said. One of them was having a little celebration after throwing a paper ball in a bin while Homelander’s skin was burning and one of them insulted Homelander by calling him squirt. Plus saving a child should be number one priority.

They are manipulative people. "We were just following orders" Sounds literally like Nazis at Nuremberg trials. Homelander even says that they don't have the backbone to say what they did was messed up. He got manipulated into needing love from psychologists. That's why he didn't leave the place when he was strong enough. Because those workers were the only family he had. But they mocked and experimented on Homelander. Laughing and not caring about the Pain that they put a kid in. Barbara tries to use the fact they conditioned him to feel love as an EXCUSE for what they did. Horrible people and you can get what Homelander is coming from.

The reason he got so much more upset over this than others was because Homelander can tell whether people are lying or not based on their heartbeat, and Frank’s apology seemed sincere even though Homelander still wanted to view him as a monster deserving of death

It’s a mix of outrage, and despair at the acknowledgment of what was done to him, and that acknowledgment forces homelander to relive it

Even as a little boy he was still a threat. Barbara said in this episode that Homelander could've left but didn't because he was tricked by psychologists to wanting approval by the scientists and how he didn't want to be seen as a failure.

it doesn't, the scientists were paid to do what they did which were forced in a way since its their job. Homelander is a sick human born of this experiment its not their fault that he would come back to kill them. Plus why he didn't do it all this time long he dare to do it just because no one stands to him in vought and he's the one in charge meantime.

Wouldn't say that. Some people are just born evil. Some people are born that lack the certain parts of the brain that controls impulses, emotional understanding. Lack of empathy. Those are designated as psychopaths or sociopaths. Some call them flat out evil. Homelander wasn't born like that he was made like that bc of his upbringing. Just wanted to clarify on that. Villains are born. Some are made. But the latter occurs more often.

@@furionmax7824 You're right but I would argue that people being made evil by their up bringing and environment is more common than just being outright evil from birth, just look at around us in the real life with how criminals are, it's the combination of the two and I believe that if a child is being raised right, never gets corrupted by bad examples from people around them, then that evilness that they carried from birth will be suppressed enough for it to never comes out in their lifetime.

Homelander is a tragic villain, you’re meant to sympathize with him, and hate him at the same time, for what he was and could’ve been, and who he became respectively, he’s a murdering raping supe-supremacist with an oedipus complex, but underneath all that is a scared little boy who was treated like a rabid animal and a product to be exploited his whole life, he deserved better, but now he deserves nothing but death despite that, that’s what makes him such a compelling villain.

I know nobody will agree with this, but Homelander needs to become good. He has his own moral code, and understanding, that he can build off of. Broken people only become whole by healing others, not by breaking others, not even by healing themselves. Either homelander dies, or homelander is healed by healing others.
